Chapter 277: Chapter 0277: New Life, Fond Heart Stirring_1
"Chen Junheng, you big bad egg, I’m not talking to you anymore."
Yang Yiyi was both embarrassed and angry, pouting endlessly.
She’s truly beautiful. Having met such a beauty, how could I possibly let her go?
Zhang Bin gazed at her with intoxicated eyes, unable to get enough of her. "Yiyi," he said, "out of billions of people in this vast world, for us to meet is fate. Besides, we’ve been through so much together. Our connection is far from shallow. I feel we shouldn’t defy Heaven’s good intentions. Let’s be a happy couple."
"You’re still on about that?" Yang Yiyi was extremely embarrassed and annoyed. "I don’t believe an outstanding young man like you doesn’t have a girlfriend. Stop trying to flirt with me. You’ll regret it if I take you seriously."
"Heh heh... If I regret it, I’ll just have to carry you off with me," Zhang Bin chuckled.
He swept Yang Yiyi into his arms, hailed a taxi, and bundled her inside. After telling the driver their destination and agreeing on a price, the car sped off.
Yang Yiyi, however, was frozen stiff, an expression of utter disbelief on her face. "Chen Junheng, are you really going to my house?"
"Of course. I have to get your mom’s approval before I can marry you, right?" Zhang Bin said with a wicked smile.
"Then how did you know I live in Tingxi?" Yang Yiyi asked, shocked.
"Heh heh... You told me in your dream last night," Zhang Bin said, his wicked smile unwavering.
"You big bad egg, you’re spouting nothing but nonsense! I’m telling you, don’t mess around." Yang Yiyi was both angry and anxious, worried that Zhang Bin would actually go to her house and claim to be her boyfriend. What would the villagers think of her?
"You also told me in your dream that your mom has had diabetes for many years and has been in great pain," Zhang Bin said softly. "I’m going this time to treat her."
"You’re a doctor too?"
Yang Yiyi was astonished. A tempestuous wave surged in her heart. Could I have really entered his dream last night and told him all my secrets?
"That’s right," Zhang Bin replied with a casual smile.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" Yang Yiyi was deeply moved, her voice quivering slightly.
"Because you’re beautiful, and my future wife is bound to be beautiful too," Zhang Bin said. "Who knows, maybe you’ll end up being my wife. Naturally, I have to be good to you."
"I don’t believe you. Tell me, what’s the real reason?" Yang Yiyi said, half-pouting and half-amused.
The taxi driver, a man in his thirties, glanced in the rearview mirror. When he saw Yang Yiyi’s charmingly petulant expression, he was immediately dazzled, and his heart began to pound. He had never seen such a beautiful woman before. He quickly tore his eyes away, afraid he might drive the car into a ditch. He perked up his ears, however, eavesdropping on their conversation in the hopes of learning some techniques for wooing women. He had already figured out that the young man was in the middle of picking up this exceptionally rare beauty.
"The real reason is often cruel. It’s better that you don’t know," Zhang Bin said.
"Tell me. I’m not afraid," Yang Yiyi said, growing nervous.
"The real reason is that I’m also from Qingshan Province. My home is on the way, so I have to pass through your area. I just thought I’d stop by and treat your mother. After all, you and I are fated to have met. Who knows, maybe you really will become my wife someday?" Zhang Bin said. "As for fate? We don’t know what it has in store for us yet."
"Pfft..." Yang Yiyi burst out giggling. "What’s so cruel about that? Your words are scary enough to kill someone."
"So, do you welcome me to your house now?" Zhang Bin asked.
"Can you really cure diabetes?" Yang Yiyi asked again.
"Of course. Haven’t you witnessed my miraculous abilities yet?" Zhang Bin said.
"Then of course I welcome you! I couldn’t ask for more." Remembering Zhang Bin’s miraculous abilities, she suddenly believed him, her face filling with anticipation.
Zhang Bin seized the opportunity to grasp her slender, jade-like hand, toying with it gently.
A gorgeous blush spread across her cheeks as she shot Zhang Bin a fierce glare. However, Zhang Bin was shameless and completely unfazed, continuing to take his liberties. In the end, there was nothing Yang Yiyi could do but let him be. She simply closed her eyes and began to doze off.
With Zhang Bin by her side, she had nothing to worry about. Having such a remarkable person, a Grandmaster no less, nearby was the safest thing in the world.
When she woke, something felt amiss. They were no longer in the car; she was lying in Zhang Bin’s arms as he strode through the dark night.
"Ah... Where are you taking me?!" Yang Yiyi cried out in alarm, almost scared to death.
"I’m kidnapping you to make you my wife, of course," Zhang Bin said with a mischievous laugh.
"As if! It looks like we’ve arrived at my house," Yang Yiyi retorted with a soft snort. She wriggled out of his embrace, feeling a little embarrassed. He carried me for so long and I didn’t even realize it. I slept like a log! If he were a bad person, wouldn’t I have been in big trouble?
And so, they walked hand in hand through the darkness, arriving in Tingxi soon after.
It was a beautiful little mountain village, but most of the households were poor. The houses were simple red-brick structures that looked quite dilapidated. Yang Yiyi’s family was even poorer, their house truly having nothing more than four bare walls. They didn’t even own a single decent appliance. No wonder she had been reluctant to bring Zhang Bin home.
Yang Yiyi also had a younger brother, a big, simple-looking boy of ten who was already 1.8 meters tall, with a sturdy, broad-shouldered build. He was already fast asleep, snoring like thunder.
Father Yang had passed away from cancer seven years ago. Mother Yang had suffered from diabetes for many years and had never been cured. It was no surprise the family wasn’t wealthy.
Poor Yang Yiyi, Zhang Bin sighed inwardly. But now that I’m here, your hardships are over.
Mother Yang looked very old, with stark white hair and a body as thin as kindling. She was very surprised to see Yang Yiyi bring a young man home and sized Zhang Bin up from head to toe. She could clearly sense that the relationship between them was unusual; they seemed very close.
Blushing, Yang Yiyi introduced him. "Mom, his name is Chen Junheng. I met him in the Magic Capital..."
"Auntie, my main purpose for coming is to treat your illness," Zhang Bin said. "However, both of you must promise me that after you’ve recovered, you won’t tell anyone that it was me who cured you."
He made this request to avoid anyone linking Zhang Bin with Chen Junheng, which would lead to major trouble.
Odd expressions appeared on both women’s faces, but they nodded in agreement.
And so, Zhang Bin began the treatment. He merely used Longevity Qi to comb through Mother Yang’s body, restoring her metabolism to its normal function. Then he took out a bottle of Spiritual Water and had her take a few sips.
Mother Yang’s vitality returned, her complexion turned rosy, and her feeling of weakness completely vanished. A look of pure joy spread across her face. "It seems I’m really cured! I’ve never felt this good. This is amazing!"
Tears streamed down Yang Yiyi’s face, but her expression was one of unprecedented elation. In that moment, she felt as if her family had been given a new lease on life. All of this was thanks to the seemingly simple-minded, yet in reality, unbelievably miraculous youth before her!
How can I ever repay him? By giving myself to him?
