Chapter 278: Chapter 0278: The Silly Kid Who Calls Brother-in-law_1
The sky gradually brightened, and Zhang Bin awoke.
He had planned to go home last night, but Yang Yiyi had flatly refused to let him leave. So, he had stayed, sleeping on her bed. Regrettably, Yang Yiyi didn’t sleep there; she joined Mother Yang instead. Still, her bed was very comfortable and filled with a lingering fragrance, which gave Zhang Bin a good night’s sleep.
"Chen Junheng, did you sleep well last night?" Yang Yiyi walked in, bringing a pleasant fragrance with her, and asked with a smile.
With her mother truly recovered from her illness, her mood was better than ever.
"Not well," Zhang Bin said. "It would have been much better if you had stayed and slept with me."
"You Big Bad Egg, all you know how to do is tease me," Yang Yiyi said coyly. She then pulled Zhang Bin out of bed, urged him to wash up, and the three of them began to eat breakfast.
The breakfast prepared by Mother Yang was lavish: porridge, corn on the cob, eggs, and noodles.
Mother Yang once again thanked Zhang Bin profusely.
"Auntie, please don’t be so formal with me. For me, it was just a small effort," Zhang Bin replied politely while eating.
After breakfast, Zhang Bin bade farewell. Both Yang Yiyi and her mother saw him off, with Yiyi accompanying him all the way to the village entrance.
"Yiyi, we’re about to part. How about a hug?" Zhang Bin said with a mischievous smile.
"You Big Bad Egg! If the villagers see us, I might never be able to get married," Yang Yiyi said coquettishly.
"Can’t get married? Then I’ll have you," Zhang Bin replied with a wicked smile, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Don’t..."
Yang Yiyi was extremely shy, her heart pounded wildly, but she found herself unable to struggle, simply collapsing softly into his arms.
"Scoundrel! How dare you bully my sister! I’ll beat you to death!"
Suddenly, an angry voice rang out. A brawny man burst out of the woods, smashing a bowl-sized fist furiously toward the back of Zhang Bin’s head.
However, his punch hit nothing, as Zhang Bin had suddenly retreated a large step with Yang Yiyi in his arms.
The brawny man moved to attack again, but Yang Yiyi shouted, "Brother, stop!"
The brawny man stopped. He asked, puzzled, "Sis, why can’t I hit him? Didn’t you used to tell me to beat up anyone who bullied you?"
"He’s your brother? Only ten years old?" Zhang Bin released Yang Yiyi, looking at the brawny man with interest.
The fellow had a baby face, but his frame was terrifyingly muscular. He stood over six feet tall, strong, with bulging muscles on his arms. Tucked under his arm was an Axe that must have weighed dozens of pounds.
"Yes, that’s my younger brother, Yang Xiong. He’s a bit simple, and his grades are appalling. Now he just refuses to go to school; he’s dead set against it. He spends all his days hunting in the mountains and practicing martial arts, completely lawless. Mom and I can’t do anything with him," Yang Yiyi said, her face troubled.
She even wondered if she had somehow stolen all her brother’s talent and intelligence, leaving him so foolish while she was so smart.
"Kid, can you lift that big rock?" Zhang Bin’s interest was piqued. He pointed at a stone that looked to weigh about two hundred kilograms and asked.
"Why should I lift it for you?" Yang Xiong said in a gruff voice.
Zhang Bin’s eyes lit up. From this response, it seemed the Youth could indeed lift that rock. Perhaps he was a rare Talent for Cultivation.
He let out a strange laugh and stretched out his hand, grabbing at the air.
The stone slowly flew over and into his grasp. He then lifted it into the air with a single finger.
Yang Xiong’s Eye Orbs nearly popped out of his head. His face was a mask of shock, and he was completely unable to process what he’d seen.
It wasn’t just him; even Yang Yiyi was stunned, her heart throbbing fiercely. Such an incredible person completely overturned her understanding of the world.
"Kid, do you want to become as powerful as me?" Zhang Bin asked with a mischievous smile.
"Yes!" Yang Xiong answered excitedly.
"Then follow my commands."
Zhang Bin then conducted a series of tests on Yang Xiong. The results came out quickly. Yang Xiong’s punching strength reached 300 kilograms, and his Speed was 10 meters per second. Yang Xiong’s meridians were naturally wide, with few blockages.
He was, indeed, a rare genius for Cultivation.
Overjoyed, Zhang Bin led him into the forest. Worried, Yang Yiyi secretly followed them.
Upon entering the forest, Zhang Bin demonstrated levitation and then crushed a boulder with his palm.
Yang Xiong was so shocked he almost lost his mind. He dropped to his knees with a thud and shouted, "Master, please take me as your Disciple!"
"Becoming my Disciple isn’t easy," Zhang Bin said with a mischievous grin. "However, if you call me ’brother-in-law,’ I’d be willing to teach you an introductory Cultivation Technique."
"Brother-in-law! Brother-in-law! Brother-in-law! Please, teach me the Cultivation Technique!" Yang Xiong shouted again and again in his excitement.
This hopeless kid, how could he call him ’brother-in-law’? Yang Yiyi, watching secretly from the side, blushed and fumed. Of course, she didn’t rush out to scold him. If my brother can learn a mystical Cultivation Method, then I won’t have to worry about him not going to school.
"Heh heh..." Zhang Bin chuckled evilly and lowered his voice. "Also, from now on, you must continue to protect your sister. Don’t let any man other than me bully her. Understand?"
"Uh-huh, I understand, brother-in-law," Yang Xiong assured seriously, thumping his chest. "If anyone dares to bully my sister, I’ll beat them to death!"
"That’s right. You must beat them to death," Zhang Bin said, his voice laced with a murderous aura.
This bastard, he’s teaching my brother to be a thug. Yang Yiyi touched her forehead, completely frustrated and not knowing whether to laugh or cry. Now she really didn’t know what kind of person Zhang Bin was. One moment he was a Grandmaster of painting, calligraphy, and music; the next, a martial arts expert; and then, a complete rogue.
Soon, Zhang Bin taught Yang Xiong the Taiqing Sect’s Cultivation Method—of course, only the portion that went up to the Rushing Pulse Realm.
The boy seemed a bit dense, but he truly had a Talent for Cultivation. Zhang Bin only had to explain it in detail twice before Yang Xiong had memorized and understood it completely.
"Brother-in-law, how long will I need to cultivate before I can fly like you?" Yang Xiong asked excitedly.
"Don’t get ahead of yourself. Focus on your Cultivation for now. If you can reach the Rushing Pulse Realm within a year, only then might you have a chance to learn how to levitate," Zhang Bin said.
Of course, he left something unsaid: if Yang Xiong didn’t turn out to be the genius he expected, he wouldn’t teach him any of the subsequent Cultivation Techniques. But if Yang Xiong really could reach the Rushing Pulse Realm in a year, he would be a rare genius indeed—one worthy of nurturing. In the future, he could even be considered a Disciple of the Taiqing Sect. I would have cultivated a future expert for my sect. Of course, the most important reason was that Yang Xiong’s sister, Yang Yiyi, was incredibly beautiful. By training Yang Xiong, she would be much safer. And Yiyi was the woman he, Zhang Bin, had set his sights on. She absolutely needed a powerful protector.
He gave Yang Xiong a few more detailed instructions, then opened his mouth and spat out his Flying Sword. He leaped onto it and rode it into the sky.
In a flash of red light, he vanished without a trace.
Yang Xiong and Yang Yiyi were both stunned, their mouths agape. It took them a long while to come back to their senses.
Now, only a single thought remained in their minds: Zhang Bin was one of the Immortals! An immortal who had come to save their family!
