Chapter 214: Sea Serpent

Chapter 214: Sea Serpent

"Not again!" Gwen rushed to the edge where Kai was taken and looked overboard. She couldn’t see anything, even with her enhanced senses. The water was too dark, and the storm didn’t help.

"Nadya, get Kyana!"

"On it!"

"Amaya, we need to get this ship back on course!"

"What about Kai?"

"Don’t worry about him, he should be fine!" Gwen was confident Kai could handle himself, but she still gave him a silent prayer.

Below the ocean surface, Kai was being dragged underwater at a fast pace. He wasn’t worried about drowning since he couldn’t die, but inhaling water was still an uncomfortable experience.

He quickly bought an ability that would give him gills every time he dunked his head underwater.

"Ahhh! I can breathe! Get off me, you giant sea serpent!" Kai attempted to break out of the serpent’s hold, but it didn’t work.

"What?! T-That’s impossible!" He quickly checked its stats and saw that the serpent was sitting at a good 700K mana stat and 70K strength stat.

"Whatttttt?! T-That’s more powerful than the fucking demon king! Well, at least the form it takes when it enters the mortal world." Kai knew that the gods and demon kings were way stronger in their true forms and in their realm, but they were also supposed to be the strongest threat as well. Turns out, that was false.

"Nghh!" He used his destruction abilities, burning the serpent, and listened to it screech underwater.

"Fuck ass fish! Don’t grab me like that again!" He swam toward the serpent, punching it in the face while holding nothing back.

The serpent, while it did get hurt, wasn’t out of commission. It knocked Kai back with its hard, scaly tail, then blasted a high-pressure beam of water that tore through Kai’s arm.

"Arghhhh!!!! F-Fuck!" He quickly added 300K points to his mana and 30K to each of his other stats.

"SCREEEEEEECH!"

"Fuck off!" Kai Uppercutted the fish, then blasted it on its belly. Quickly, he flew behind it, grabbed its tail, and slammed it against the sea floor.

But the serpent wasn’t done. Poisonous spikes flew out of its body, moving like torpedoes toward Kai.

He controlled the water, redirecting the spikes around his body, then back toward the serpent.

Its tail swipped them away, but that was a distraction as Kai rammed into it and dragged it to the deepest part of the ocean.

It screamed, hollered, and tried to attack Kai, but all of their attacks failed.

He could feel the pressure of the ocean weighing down on his body, but his Adaptive Body activated, making him immune to the water pressure.

The serpent, however, could only go so far underwater. Kai realized that it wasn’t a creature that roamed the sea floor, so the deeper he took it, the more its body got crushed, so he kept pushing forward or downward in this situation.

Eventually, the serpent burst like a balloon, its blood and guts floating up to the surface.

Kai breathed a sigh of relief. Right as he was about to go up, he spotted something. It looked like a massive glass dome filled with lights on the inside, surrounded by a massive underwater mountain range. The place was far away, but since he had telescopic vision, he could look at the dome as if he were right next to it.

"People?" He wondered as he saw people of all races living inside the dome. The craziest thing was that this was still in the open ocean. There were no barriers here and no gods to protect them.

As he looked a bit closer, he saw that they had gills on their necks, symbolizing their evolution to underwater living. But that wasn’t all. Some of them even had fish tails like merpeople. It was an amazing sight.

"A whole civilization underwater! In the open ocean! That’s insane! I need to get closer!" He swam closer to the dome, passing through a section of the ocean that felt like he was getting out of water. But when he looked around, he was still in the ocean.

Then it hit him. The color. Everything used to be black, pitch black. But now, he could see clearly, as if he were on the surface. This didn’t make sense because this dome was on the ocean floor, the bottom-most layer of the ocean floor.

"Amazing!" Kai checked his minimap and saw that this location was marked on it, which was good. He swam closer, but then something caught his eye.

It looked as if the mountain had moved.

"The fuck?"

He scanned his surroundings, but he couldn’t find anything unusual. But then the mountain moved again, and this time, he saw it move.

’This is weird. He flew closer, landing on the mountain to see if there was a mirage or some sort of spell that was making him see things, but when he landed, something shocked him to the core.

A huge shadow hovered over him, causing Kai to turn around. And when he did, a massive eye was looking at him.

He couldn’t move; he was frozen, and he was in shock. The eye was so massive that it was half the size of the dome itself, and the dome was the size of the Sarkylla continent. Then, he saw another eye, its second one, and it was just as massive.

The eye blinked, staring at Kai as if it were scanning his being. After scanning Kai for five minutes, the creature closed its eyes and lowered its head, presumably going back to sleep.

He breathed a sigh of relief and decided to bolt out of there. He swam in the water as if he were flying, moving at high speeds, but then he turned around to see how large the creature was.

What he saw nearly made him drown. The entire lower shelf of the ocean that reached the sea floor wasn’t rock or a mountain range; it was a massive sea serpent. A serpent so massive that Kai couldn’t nearly comprehend it.

It reminded him of the world serpent from Norse mythology, and that comparison was what kept his mind sane.

He quickly left, returning to his ship.

"Kai!" All of his girls hugged him, crying tears of joy.

He hugged them all back, glad to see them as well.

"Let’s get out of here. I don’t want to be on the ocean a second longer."
