Chapter 347: Chapter 347: So Deeply in Love
After going around in circles several times, when they finally reached the foot of the mountain near the film crew, everything was shrouded in darkness.
Perhaps due to the treacherous mountain conditions at night, the possibility of a landslide, or perhaps because this place was simply too remote, making it difficult to stage a rescue, there weren’t even any rescue personnel on site.
Adrian Walyon, accompanied by a few local residents, got out of the car and dialed Summer Sutton’s phone number as they walked.
He tried countless times to connect the call, but it remained unanswered.
He tried Ariella Sawyer’s number, yet the situation was still the same.
The entire film crew was out of contact.
Adrian’s heart sank, he gripped his phone tightly and walked down the mountain path towards the incident site.
The night on the mountain was devoid of any light, and darkness stretched as far as the eye could see.
The mountain path was already difficult to traverse, and after the rain, it turned into a muddy mess.
Even the local residents guiding him, who were more accustomed to the mountains, found it difficult to walk, let alone Adrian who rarely ventured into the mountains.
The group pushed onward, using flashlights to navigate in the dark. When they finally reached near the location of the film crew, it was already midnight.
"Sir, it’s too dark and dangerous to go down at night. Why not wait until tomorrow?"
"Yes, another landslide could be disastrous."
The two local residents accompanying him tried to persuade him.
Adrian ignored them, stubbornly heading down the mountain path towards the valley where Summer Sutton was last reported to be.
"Summer Sutton!" he shouted as he walked.
The surroundings were empty, only the sound of startled night birds flapping their wings could be heard.
"Summer Sutton!" Adrian raised his voice, "Can you hear me? Answer me!"
"Summer Sutton!"
His voice echoed through the mountain for a long time, continuously calling the same name, until his throat became hoarse and voice broke.
The local residents, initially hesitant to follow due to safety reasons, were moved by his almost hour-long calls and joined him in searching the valley.
There were only some scattered props from the crew in the valley. The group searched the entire area without any response, leading Adrian to start digging through the accumulated mud and stones.
Without any tools, he used his hands, digging until his fingers were bleeding and his arms covered in scratches, yet he refused to give up.
Adrian was determined to either find Summer alive or see her body, unwilling to leave without her.
The accompanying residents watched him crouching, tirelessly digging into the pile of mud and stones, sighing in sympathy.
This young man, he truly loved deeply!
The woman involved in the accident must be someone he deeply cherished, right?
But with the mud and stones piled like a mountain, how long could he dig with just his hands?
Without tools, it was certainly too much to bear, digging straight into this heap of mud and stones.
The residents’ willingness to lead Adrian there in the middle of the night was already a kind gesture.
But to have them follow suit and dig with him by hand was asking too much.
They quietly watched from the side, without intervening.
Slowly, the sky above the mountain began to lighten.
"Sir, perhaps we should head back for now and bring a rescue team during the day for help?" one resident kindly suggested.
Adrian seemed deaf to their words, obstinately continuing to dig.
Even with his hands stained with blood, it was as if he felt no pain.
The residents, feeling helpless, had to leave first.
As they returned, passing through a nearby village, they discussed, "I wonder what relation that young man had to the person in the accident?"
