Chapter 125 125: The Angel (8)

Having to ask him for any sort of help is already pissing me off a lot more than I expected. But, sadly we need his help since he could be beneficial in some way.

I just can't stand the people on power trips and who think that they are better than everyone.

"Seems you need to get stronger for starters. I know of your goal since you entered my chambers. It gives me a bit of insight on the people I'm facing which is quite nice." The Angel responds with a smile still plastered across his face.

"So you know that I want to kill the monarch of Chaos?" I question with a serious tone.

"Of course. The being who brought about the collapse of your world. It makes a lot of sense on why you would want him dead." The Angel answers without wasting a second.

He really does know my goal. This chamber is definitely quite odd, now that I'm really looking at it.

It was a rather nice room with an angelic vibe to match the Angel in front of us but I never noticed all the different engravings across the walls. Each one leading to a bigger piece of art on the walls.

All of them seem to be depictions of what's to come or maybe they are just what happened already.

"I wouldn't pay any mind to those, they have been useless for quite some time. Why don't we all have a seat and talk." He suggests with a polite tone.

"Sure." I agree with a bit of caution in my voice.

We all took a seat on the mysterious couch that appeared before us but I still couldn't trust this damn guy. Everything about him screamed red flags.

But the power within me was pretty quiet so I don't think there's much that I can do against him right now anyway. The only bright side of it, was that my wounds healed.

Everyone else also seemed to be doing better so I guess there was no choice but to play along for the time being. I could feel the others looking to me for answer about this whole situation too.

Sadly I can't even give them a proper answer about the situation.

"No need to be so tense. We are no longer enemies, at least not for now." He assures everyone.

"It is kind of hard to trust you, especially after the whole battle. Also, we don't even know your name but you know us." I speak with a bit of caution in my voice.

"Ozyrel. That's all there is to my name. Angels are a special case after all. Now, can we actually get on with talking about the important stuff." He responds with a bit of an irritated tone.

Ozyrel. That's a name I'll make sure to remember no matter what. After everything that happened I don't want to forget who caused all this pain.

He tried to hurt the people closest to me so I don't ever want to imagine what it's like to fight him again.

"What exactly is the important topic at hand?" Akina asks while crossing her arms. Her annoyed expression was still obvious.

"Dealing with the Monarch." Ozyrel answers with a more serious look in his face.

The smile was finally gone from his face, something I was waiting to see disappear from the start. It seems that even the Angel has a problem with the Monarch who brought about the collapse.

Velia and Ghost also seem to be pretty annoyed with the situation as well, can't say I'm surprised.

"How much do you know about him anyway?" I ask with curiosity in my voice.

I feel like I've already learned a bit about the monarch but it hasn't been anything game changing for me to use. It has all been pretty basic shit or stuff that is good to know but doesn't carry any real value.

"The only thing known about the monarch of Chaos is that he will continue to bring about changes in each place he goes. At least until he brings powerful enough beings into the picture." Ozyrel responds.

That sounds pretty much identical to what I've already heard so I don't really think it is going to be helpful to talk with him.

"If you're against the monarch as well, why hasn't he dealt with you? You are definitely quite the threat yourself." Ghost asks, confusion noticebly in her voice.

"Angels aren't really able to fight against the Monarch's anymore. After they destroyed the heavenly realms, we were left to serve the new masters." He answers with a bit of sadness starting to appear in his voice.

Just like the demon realms, Heavenly ones existed as well. I'm baffled that they would lose to beings like the Monarch's but I guess that really does speak numbers about their strength.

Being able to defeat the heavenly realms is probably a big feat in itself to begin with.

Nobody has ever scratched the heavenly realms before so it doesn't make any sense how it got destroyed by them. We really might be in for quite the challenge Rokuro.

I don't know what it'll take to defeat them if they are that damn powerful.

The answer isn't really clear to me yet either but I'm going to find it somehow. I'll defeat the one who brought this chaos upon my world and then I'll defeat the other ones as well.

There is no way that I'm going to let everything get taken from me all over again after everything I've gone through.

The people here also need someone who is strong enough to face them.

Other powerful hunters do exist within this world you know. We just haven't found all of them yet, but there is a lot of other problems still brewing.

A prime example would be a powerful group of hunters that still reside in the wasteland.

I forget that we do have other problems here as well. It would probably be best to handle some of those problems while getting stronger anyway.

"Yet, here you are helping us." Akina chimes in while staring right at him.

"Knowledge isn't the same as actually fighting, plus it doesn't really matter what I tell you. They'll crush you all down again anyway." Ozyrel speaks with no real belief in his voice.

He's like a completely different person after the fight finished. The smile finally disappeared and he doesn't even seem to have anything positive to him now.

"You're able to believe that but I don't think it'll be the case. I'll get strong enough to beat all of them or I'll die fighting them. It won't matter if I don't try though." I say with confidence.

"Whatever. I'd suggest taking out the towers to get stronger if you are really serious about doing anything. They will keep amplifying the monsters if they aren't destroyed, which would make it harder for the other hunters to survive." Ozyrel responds while looking at the floor.

Towers? I could've sworn that Akina took care of that but we never did talk much about that. After we encountered the enemy from the tower again we just told her about it, nothing came from it.

I don't think she even knew how that was possible in the first place.

There will always be things that we don't know. Akina doesn't know everything, otherwise she'd be way higher than handling the towers.

But she also is capable of granting power to people so shouldn't she be considered quite strong?

In some ways, yes. She could easily help make the others stronger but you aren't really within her grasp right now. That's something I noticed when we first started climbing the tower.

Your power is definitely a lot more complicated than I originally thought. I should've been gone by now and yet more things pop up.

I don't really understand what that means Rika. What do you mean it's a lot more complicated than you thought?

Your power should have a threshold where I'm no longer needed but I haven't found it yet.

"The towers shouldn't even be up. I brought them down and yet I keep finding more problems with them." Akina speaks up with a bit of frustration.

"How sad that the tower goddess doesn't know anything about the problem. I'd say you aren't in control of all that anymore." Ozyrel replied with a small smirk on his face again.

That completely interrupted everything with Rika but this is also kind of important to figure out right now too. So much is happening all at once so it is kind of messy.

"The Towers will have to be the play then. Obviously we'll be back for more information from you at some point." I said before standing up.

There's a lot more he might know but I don't want to risk someone getting angry enough to start a fight again. We already know the difference in strength right now so it would be a waste of time.
