Silence was finally all that surrounded me in this time of mine. Truly does seem like I am finally dead.
I don't know how else I could've come back during that fight since he was way stronger than I expected. It felt like it was completely impossible to even do anymore damage to him.
That sword also destroyed me after piercing through my chest so I don't really know what else could've been done.
"What does life mean to you?" A voice echoes around me, breaking the silence.
What does life mean to me? What kind of question is that... Life means a lot of things to me so I don't really have a simple answer to the question.
Wait, do I really think it means that much to me if I was willing to let it disappear? I don't want to leave anyone behind so I'd say life means a lot.
Protecting those closest to me, enjoying life with the people I've met, and bringing an end to the being who brought this chaos upon us. Minami wouldn't want me to go out like this either so there's no way that I can let this be my fate.
Everything started to light up around me once again, I was now standing within an all white room. The room that I've grown so accustomed to after the amount of times I've arrived here.
It didn't feel the same as it usually did. It felt like someone was actually here or living within this space now.
"It's been a little bit since we've met face to face. You always manage to miss me when I manage to find my way here." A familiar voice speaks from behind me.
I turn around to find myself face to face with Seraphine Vox. The goddess that I met a long time ago, one that I haven't seen in awhile.
"Seraphine, it really has been awhile." I respond with a bit of shock in my voice.
"Take a seat on the couch. I'd love to tell you about some stuff I discovered." She gestures towards the couch with a bit of excitement in her voice.
Her being excited could definitely be seen as a good sign since that means she might have figured out something useful for me. Her and Rika always seem to have a way of figuring things out.
Regardless I took a seat on the couch while waiting for her to start telling me about everything she figured out. She took a seat next to me and a little holographic globe appeared in front of us.
"It'll be a rather long story or explanation. Are you okay with that?" Seraphine asked as she looked towards the globe.
"Yeah that's fine." I answer without giving it a second thought.
(Seraphine begins to talk.)
I've been trapped within this space for the longest time because the being who brought this corruption to your world knows I can help.
He trapped me here with no way out which caught me off guard because I'm one of the true goddesses that exist within your world. Akina isn't a real goddess, she is just very strong and given that title because of the tower.
Her power is strong but if we were to face off against one another... That would be a one sided fight.
But that's not what I'm here to tell you about, is it? I'm here to tell you that the Monarch of Chaos is the one that wants to see what happens with the world.
He's been making changes to everything as time goes on so who knows when even stronger enemies will appear. You have to be ready to handle them but I know it doesn't make any sense right now.
Laying on the floor as if you're dead... That wouldn't really mean much to you right now. These stronger enemies will be serving as generals you could say, a powerful ranked being who can help push humans back.
Seeing how far humans can push themselves to survive is part of the game.
"What exactly is the goal of this damn Monarch?" I question with a bit of confusion.
"I'll explain that to you shortly." Seraphine answers before continuing.
The Monarch of Chaos is looking to see if anyone can become strong enough to join him, at least that's the assumption. Otherwise it would just be pointless slaughter for no real gain.
They've been searching through all the world's and realms that they can get to, trying to find the perfect people to join their ranks.
This would make it impossible for anyone to try to defy them if they always have someone powerful enough to stop them. A lot of the people you faced in the tower were from worlds that they took over.
The real important part of this whole thing is.... There is more than one monarch behind the scenes. Each of them serve a different purpose and they don't necessarily listen to what The Chaos Monarch says.
He just happens to be giving them what they want right now, but the point with that is... You need to beat them all.
(She stops talking for a moment.)
How the hell am I supposed to beat multiple Monarch's? They are all stronger than me the way it is so I don't really have a clear way to do that.
I was literally just struggling against an angel so it is pretty clear to me that I'd do no better against a monarch.
"You don't have to worry about facing them just yet. You have time to get stronger, but don't waste it fighting the Angel any longer. He is annoying but he can provide a lot of useful information." Seraphine explains with a bit of a calm tone in her voice.
"Why would he do any of that? He seemed pretty intent on killing us." I respond with a bit of confusion in my voice.
"It was a test of your strength. Everyone will be fine but he needed to make sure it wasn't a waste of time. Anyone can go in there with the intention of beating him." Seraphine answers.
"Ugh. I guess I'll have to listen to what that prick has to say." I say before leaning back on the couch.
He'll have a big price to pay if Ghost is seriously hurt though. I don't like the thought of listening to him after what he did at all...
But if this was all just a test, then I'm sure he can fix the damage he's done to everyone within an instant. Otherwise we'd just be left to die without any proper help to begin with.
"Anyway, seems my time is up. We'll see each other again soon." Seraphine speaks with a smile on her face.
My luck with meeting beautiful women is definitely the greatest, I'll never be upset with this. That was probably one of the better gifts that God gave me.
Everything disappeared around me instantly as I jolted awake once again, the wounds were completely gone from before. The Angel was staring at me as I took notice of the others around me.
Ghost was even by my side after I watched her get hit by that damn sword of his. It seems we must've passed the test that Seraphine mentioned.
"I'm so glad you're okay Rokuro." Ghost says with a bit of relief in her voice.
I could feel the warmth as she wrapped her arms around me.
"You have to stop leaving me like that. I can never tell if it is a good time to be upset or not." Velia chimes in while looking away.
I forgot she dealt with that a lot when we were in the tower together so it isn't exactly a fun thing for her to see. It was just always hard to tell what she was feeling since her tone was usually the exact same with everything.
"This is why I think you're so interesting. You continue to surprise me." Akina speaks up with relief in her voice as well.
It took a few moments to get everyone settled down but now it was time for me to see what the Angel was all about. Even though I never figured out why Seraphine asked about what life meant to me.
I guess I kind of know the answer since it was something I thought about when she had me in there. The meaning is pretty clear to me for right now.
"It seems you've come to understand that it was a test. People love to spoil things for me but I don't mind since you surprised me quite a few times during our battle." The Angel says before landing back on the ground again.
His wounds were also healed now and he didn't seem to be giving off any sort of hostile vibes either. The fight truly did seem to be over for now.
"So, what exactly can you help us with?" I ask with a serious tone in my voice.
It feels like a fair question to ask.
