Chapter 240 Can't you see the young master doesn't want to see you?

"I've eaten," Grandma Sun said with a smile. "The new housekeeper is good; she hasn't made things difficult for me anymore."

"Aren't you sad that your job has been replaced?" Ye Wan sat down, picked up her chopsticks, and asked while eating.

"What's there to be sad about? I was just an ordinary servant. Unlike them, I don't have a degree. I'm used to being a servant." Grandma Sun actually still wanted to be the housekeeper. Being the housekeeper would allow her to give Ye Wan special treatment, instead of just cooking her a bowl of noodles, adding beef secretly.

Ye Wan saw the regret in her eyes and felt that Grandma Sun was just putting on a brave face here. Who wouldn't want to be a leader instead of being ordered around? She decided she must help Grandma Sun get her housekeeper position back.

After eating the noodles, Ye Wan urged Grandma Sun to rest. It was past eleven o'clock at night when car lights illuminated outside. A convoy of cars drove into the Gu residence. Ye Wan immediately put down the paper and pen in her hands, got out of bed, and quickly put on her shoes to go out.

The housekeeper was at the door welcoming the master home. Ye Wan suddenly running out seemed a bit abrupt. However, Gu Yunting walked past without looking at her, heading straight upstairs.

"Gu..." Ye Wan wanted to stop him, but his cold aura scared her away.

By the time Gu Yunting's figure disappeared upstairs, the housekeeper walked over and reprimanded her unhappily, "Ye Wan, what are you doing? Dressed like this late at night, trying to seduce the master?"

Ye Wan stood still. The housekeeper looked at her displeasedly, "Why are you still standing there foolishly? Hurry back! Can't you see the young master doesn't want to see you!"

Ye Wan reluctantly withdrew her gaze and returned to her room. She couldn't sleep and only fell asleep at dawn. When she woke up and wanted to see Gu Yunting, Grandma Sun said Gu Yunting had already left early and secretly gave her another bowl of noodles.

Watching Ye Wan eat the noodles, Grandma Sun felt distressed. If she were still the housekeeper, Ye Wan would have more delicious food and wouldn't be so thin.

To cover the wound on her neck, Ye Wan wore a high-necked white sweater with jeans and canvas shoes. The privilege of being driven to and from school by car was gone, and she had to take the bus again.

During lunch, Ye Wan was lost in thought. It took Jiang Yan calling her twice to bring her back to her senses.

Seeing her appearance, Jiang Yan leaned over and gossiped, "Ye Wan, tell me the truth, are you dating someone?"

Ning Xin also looked at her curiously. Ye Wan immediately shook her head, "No, don't overthink it. I'm still working hard to earn money; where would I find time to date?"

"Earning money and dating aren't mutually exclusive. If you were dating someone, wouldn't you have as much money as you want?" Jiang Yan still hoped the couple she rooted for would get married.

"Stop talking nonsense. Relying on anyone is not as good as relying on yourself!" Ye Wan had been living under someone else's roof for twenty years. It was the same when she was with Ye Wenqing. Her biggest wish in this life was to live by herself, never having to look at anyone's face or try to please anyone.

"I completely agree with that. Relying on anyone is not as good as relying on yourself! That's why I really don't understand why Jiang Lingyu, who got into university, is still so eager to find a rich second generation," Ning Xin shook her head and tore a pancake into her mouth.

"Why else? Laziness and vanity. She doesn't want to work hard to have everything, and finding a rich second generation can help her cross the class divide," Jiang Yan pointed out her true nature with a sharp tongue.

"She seems to be preparing to drop out of university to marry that rich second generation," Ning Xin sighed helplessly. "I don't understand. To marry a rich man, she's giving up such a good university. What is she thinking!"
