Chapter 300 She Has a Fever

Gu Yunting was very careful, not touching any of her wounds. He endured the pain in his chest and bent down to wipe her for twenty minutes. Seeing that her complexion seemed to be improving, he took the thermometer to check her temperature, which read thirty-eight degrees Celsius.

Gu Yunting let out a long sigh. He straightened up and coughed twice. He then looked at his hands, which were slightly stained with blood. He tried to cough again but pressed his fist to his lips.

He pulled the quilt over Ye Wan and covered her carefully. He then picked up the basin of water and went to the bathroom. Upon reaching the bathroom, he vomited a mouthful of blood. Gu Yunting turned on the faucet and washed the blood away. He then picked up a cup, filled it with water, and gargled. He looked coldly at his gruesome face in the mirror, then turned and left the ward.

He turned off the lights and lay down beside Ye Wan, embracing her again.

Ye Wan whimpered with a crying tone when her wound was touched. Gu Yunting feared that his rough clothes would hurt her, so he took off his clothes and held her again.

Ye Wan made no sound this time. Gu Yunting gently touched her forehead and felt that her temperature seemed to have dropped a little. He then held her in his arms with peace of mind.

“Fu Huaishen… Fu Huaishen…”

Ye Wan suddenly burst into tears and began to mumble Fu Huaishen's name. She was dreaming, dreaming that she was back in that terrifying room. Su Shijie's disgusting smile made her so distraught that she wanted to call for help, but she knew no one would come to save her. Only Fu Huaishen could.

Gu Yunting listened as the girl in his arms called out another man's name. He could not accept it. He did not want to hear her call another man’s name, so he lowered his head and sealed her dry lips.

Ye Wan's dream shifted. She was thrown into a desert with no water and a scorching sun. She felt like she was drying out. She was so thirsty, so thirsty, and she desperately wanted a drink. Just as she felt she was about to die of thirst, a piece of ice was placed in her mouth. It was a wonderfully cool and comfortable piece of ice. Ye Wan greedily absorbed the coolness of the ice, wishing she could swallow it whole.

Gu Yunting did not expect Ye Wan to be so proactive, as if she wanted to swallow his tongue. He guessed she must be thirsty, so he let go of her and turned to find water.

Ye Wan was enjoying the ice when it suddenly disappeared. Ye Wan became anxious and desperately searched forward. Gu Yunting, seeing her eagerness, quickly drank a mouthful of water himself and then sealed her small lips, sending water into her mouth.

Ye Wan felt incredibly comfortable. Just when she thought she was going to die of thirst, she drank water! The feeling was simply wonderful.

Gu Yunting fed her a cup of water before stopping. Ye Wan, feeling comfortable, no longer dreamed and finally fell into a peaceful sleep.

Gu Yunting could no longer hold on. He had been so anxious when he saw Ye Wan being taken away, and then he had suffered internal injuries from fighting with Fu Huaishen. Smelling her familiar scent, he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

The next day, Ye Wan woke up feeling hot. As soon as she opened her eyes, she met a familiar face. However, that face was bruised today. She immediately remembered what had happened yesterday and pushed Gu Yunting away.

It was then that she realized neither of them was wearing clothes. Ye Wan frowned displeasantly and quickly picked up the discarded clothes and put them on.

Gu Yunting, pushed away, slowly opened his eyes. He felt very uncomfortable now, but he could not take care of himself. He reached out and grabbed Ye Wan's wrist, letting out a long sigh, "No more fever."
