"I want to sleep now, are you sure you want to cling to me like this?" Gu Yunting asked with a cold smile.
"Mhm, cling," Ye Wan responded softly and closed her eyes, but her grip remained tight.
Gu Yunting was almost amused by her. He simply carried her into the bedroom and lay on the bed, ready to sleep.
Once the man was lying down, Ye Wan draped herself over him. Leaning against him, she continued to beg, "What exactly will it take for you to agree to donate bone marrow to my brother? I'll do anything you want if you agree to save him."
"I won't donate, so give up on that idea. You can still get out of here now!" Gu Yunting suddenly grabbed her waist, letting her feel his current desire.
Ye Wan's face instantly flushed, but she couldn't leave. She couldn't leave if he didn't agree.
"Ye Wan, you're truly pathetic!" Gu Yunting said, then flipped over and pinned her to the bed. He lowered his head and kissed her neck.
...
The next day, when Ye Wan woke up, the room was already empty. She sat up abruptly and, as she got out of bed, fell directly onto the floor. Her legs felt as weak as noodles.
Clumsily getting up from the floor, she rushed outside. Gu Yunting was still nowhere to be seen. She rushed to the door, pulled it open, and the bodyguards outside were also gone.
Gu Yunting had left!
Ye Wan's phone rang. It was the hospital calling. She shakily answered, and the nurse urged her to come over quickly, as Ye Cheng was in critical condition.
Ye Wan ran out of the hotel and got into a car bound for the hospital.
When she arrived at the hospital, Ye Cheng was still being resuscitated. She took out her phone and called Jin Lan, begging him for help.
Jin Lan was also very helpless. Gu Yunting had blocked him, clearly not wanting him to interfere. However, listening to Ye Wan's desperate pleas, he could only say he would try to persuade him.
He found Gu Yunting at Gu Corporation. Jin Lan was stopped by the bodyguards. He promised them he would absolutely not mention Ye Wan, and only then was he allowed in.
"I say, brother, you're too heartless! Blocking me just like that! Am I still your little darling?" Jin Lan complained to Gu Yunting as soon as he entered.
Gu Yunting was signing a document. He looked up at Jin Lan and said, "Speak properly."
"I..."
"If you dare to mention her, I'll throw you out of here immediately!" Gu Yunting's gaze was like a sharp blade.
Jin Lan shivered, scared. This was the eightieth floor; if he were thrown down, he'd be crushed into a pulp! He hadn't lived enough yet and didn't want to die.
"Hehe, I just wanted to find you for a drink. I won't mention anything," Jin Lan knew he couldn't help Ye Wan anymore and understood that Gu Yunting must have his own arrangements regarding her situation.
"No time." Gu Yunting had a lot to do right now, including overseas matters that he had been postponing.
"We can drink right here, how about it?" Jin Lan took out a bottle of red wine from his pocket.
Gu Yunting ignored him. Jin Lan found wine glasses himself, poured two, and pushed one towards him.
Jin Lan's phone rang. He immediately answered, "Ye Wan, I really can't help with this. Don't cry, your health is important. If you have a fever, take medicine. If your stomach hurts, take stomach medicine. And for the frostbite on your hands, you need medication too. You're such a young girl, if your hands are all ruined, how will you find a boyfriend in the future?"
Jin Lan hung up the phone and said, "This girl really makes one worry. She doesn't understand anything. A fever and frostbite are minor issues, but if she keeps treating her stomach like this, it will become a major problem. There's a type of stomach cancer that targets young girls specifically. By the time it's discovered, it's already late-stage, and they don't have long to live."
