Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Longing
"What’s the matter?"
"It’s just that your future wife has to be good to the two babies, okay?" Serena Yeats spoke cautiously.
Elias Lancaster was momentarily taken aback; the little girl hadn’t understood what he meant. He said he’d take responsibility for her.
Moreover, after spending these last few days together, he found himself quite fond of this little girl.
Is she now thinking of having the babies and then leaving him?
"Serena, my wife will only be you, no one else. Besides, don’t you want to be with me while the babies grow up?"
Serena Yeats could feel that Elias Lancaster’s affection for her was genuine, but she was always afraid it was fleeting.
Just like her parents, so she didn’t dare easily give away her heart.
Not to mention, the gap between them was significant.
She stared blankly at him, "I... I..."
Not wanting to hear rejection, Elias Lancaster directly held her nape in place, everything he wanted to say was conveyed in that kiss.
The kiss was tangled and mind-altering; the person holding authority felt chaotic. He had never imagined he would have a day like this.
A moment later.
Serena Yeats leaned on his chest, panting heavily, feeling bewildered by the kiss.
Elias Lancaster realized he had indeed lost control, and was surprisingly infatuated with the little girl. Fearing he might scare her away, he’d better pace himself.
He hugged Serena Yeats, gently stroking her back.
"Serena, shall we try dating?"
"Ah?"
"Uncle, I’m fine, you don’t need to..."
"It’s my first time too, doesn’t Serena want to take responsibility for me?" Elias Lancaster interrupted Serena Yeats, his expression a bit aggrieved.
Nonetheless, internally he thought: having the little girl as his wife felt great, wanting her as his wife required a bit of thick skin.
But looking now at Serena Yeats’s dazed expression, she seemed scared.
"Serena, let’s give it a try, okay?" Elias Lancaster felt apprehensive, promising to take it slow, yet his words seemed to frighten her away again.
Serena Yeats snapped back to reality, "Uncle, I will take responsibility." Her little face looked so serious.
It made Elias Lancaster burst into laughter.
"Alright then, sleep early, you have classes tomorrow." Elias Lancaster said gently.
"Okay~"
Watching Serena Yeats fall asleep, Elias Lancaster got up and left the room.
He had thought a lot these past few days; if in this lifetime he had to find someone to spend it with.
It would be this little girl. He really liked her, and as for everything else, there’s plenty of time.
The next day.
Serena Yeats had classes, she had to leave early. Although the school was nearby, she still had to head out early to avoid being late.
After having breakfast, she got into Elias Lancaster’s car.
Looking at the man in the driver’s seat, she realized that he truly meant he would pick her up and drop her off.
Serena Yeats sat quietly in the back seat, feeling somewhat stifled being in the same space as Elias Lancaster.
Watching the man driving seriously, the slender fingers on the steering wheel, his handsome profile, she became dazed.
Until.
"Serena, if you keep looking, after a while..."
Serena Yeats smiled awkwardly and turned to look out the car window, "Uncle, you can drop me off at the corner ahead, I can walk from there."
She didn’t want Elias Lancaster to drive all the way to the school entrance or inside, it would attract too much attention, which wasn’t good.
Elias Lancaster responded with an "Alright."
Serena Yeats pondered, "In the future, just let the driver pick me up, you don’t have to work so hard."
After all, his work was tiring.
Yet......
"Serena, don’t you want to see me?"
Serena Yeats, "..."
Serena Yeats dared not speak, unsure how to respond.
She thought about it; apparently, boyfriends and girlfriends were like this. He said to try dating, so if he wanted to pick her up, let him pick her up.
When the school was still a distance away, Elias Lancaster pulled the car over, and Serena Yeats breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as she was about to get out of the car, she heard the man’s voice, "Nanny Livingston will deliver lunch for you this afternoon."
Serena Yeats froze for a moment, "Okay~."
After closing the car door, she thought for a bit and then knocked on the front car window.
The man lowered the car window and looked at her gently, "What’s the matter?"
"Goodbye, Uncle, take care on the road!"
With that.
She hurried away toward the school.
Elias Lancaster watched as she entered the school before leaving.
Serena Yeats walked into the classroom, went to the most cornered seat and sat down. Each time she sat here, it was always by herself.
Her relationship with classmates was not good, not because she wasn’t friendly, but because the girls in her dorm pulled classmates to ostracize her in the class.
The teacher began the lecture, and Serena Yeats took notes diligently.
Her roommates inadvertently turned their heads towards the back, seemingly spotting a familiar face.
She tapped the two followers beside her, "Look, isn’t that the poor girl?"
The two followers looked over, "It’s really her."
"Look quickly, isn’t her outfit the latest from the {You} brand?" Katherine Sinclair commented.
"It seems to be!" The other two echoed.
"This outfit must be worth more than 30K, where did she get the money to buy it? She might’ve sold herself, right?" Katherine Sinclair’s sarcastic tone rang out.
"Maybe she really figured it out, no longer wanting to use her studies to make a name for herself, since she’s still young."
"She should thank our Katherine. If it wasn’t for Katherine pointing her towards a bright path, she’d still be wearing clothes picked from the trash."
As they spoke and laughed.
The three covered their mouths and laughed.
Serena Yeats was completely unaware of this, sitting at the back, diligently listening to the lecture and taking notes.
The morning went by busily, moving from one classroom to another after each class.
After the last class, she received a call from Nanny Livingston to confirm the meeting location.
Serena Yeats walked towards the school entrance.
Near the school was a black Maybach parked near the alley entrance, and Nanny Livingston stood by the car with a thermal box.
Serena Yeats saw this as soon as she stepped out of the school and hurried over.
"Young Madam, slow down, don’t run, no hurry," Nanny Livingston said, looking startled.
"Sorry for making you wait, Nanny Livingston," Serena Yeats said politely.
"No problem, from now on, we’ll meet here for lunch," Nanny Livingston smiled.
"Thank you!" Serena Yeats took the thermal box, "Nanny Livingston, you should go back and rest, I’ll bring the box back tonight."
"Alright, once I see you enter the school, I’ll leave."
Under Nanny Livingston’s watch, she slowly walked back into the school, choosing a quiet spot to sit and eat her nutritious meal, wanting to avoid going back to the dorm.
There was only one class in the afternoon, and after it ended, she returned to the dorm, hoping to get some sleep.
Upon entering, her roommates were absent, so she lay down on the bed, feeling a bit sleepy.
A while later.
She was startled awake by a noisy commotion.
"Do you all think she’s selling herself publicly? She hasn’t been back at the dorm for so long, and someone even sends her meals these days."
