Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Does He Already Have Someone He Likes?
Elias Lancaster and Serena Yeats finally felt their hearts settle down.
After being discharged from the hospital and returning home, Serena Yeats felt much more comfortable; the hospital had been truly uncomfortable.
After lunch, Serena Yeats felt sleepy and went back to her room for a nap.
Elias Lancaster didn’t go to the office; instead, he went to the study for a video meeting.
Serena Yeats had a comfortable nap and, upon waking up and checking the time at around three, thought about going to the school to pack her things.
Downstairs, she didn’t see Elias Lancaster, so she asked the servant, "Where is Mister?"
The servant replied respectfully, "Young Madam, the Young Master is handling business in the study."
"I’ll go find Mister," she said, feeling cheerful as she headed to the study upstairs.
She stood at the door of the study and raised her hand to knock.
"Come in." A familiar, steady male voice came from inside; it was Elias Lancaster.
Serena Yeats quietly opened the door and glanced around. It was so large, there were many books, and why were there so many ceramics? It seemed like a small library.
She walked in further and saw a large desk where Elias Lancaster was typing on the computer.
He had just replied to an email and, looking up, saw the visitor, "Serena, you sit for a while; I’ll be right done."
Serena Yeats sat on the sofa, surveying everything in the study, "Mister, no rush, you get busy."
The items here seemed expensive, but she liked both the arrangement and layout here.
Ten minutes later, Elias Lancaster finished his work and, lifting his eyes, saw the curious Serena Yeats looking at the novelties there, her face clearly showing innocence.
He hoped she would stay like this always.
Elias Lancaster stood up and went over to take her hand, "Let’s go."
Serena Yeats agreed and let him hold her hand as they walked out.
Nanny Livingston was already waiting downstairs. Upon seeing them come down hand in hand, she smiled brightly, "Young Master, Young Madam, good afternoon."
Elias Lancaster just responded with a hum, while Serena Yeats sweetly said, "Nanny Livingston, good afternoon."
The driver was already at the door; they got in the car directly heading to the school.
Oddly enough, the closer they got to the school, the more complex Serena Yeats’s feelings became; she was still somewhat reluctant.
But this was currently the best solution.
The car drove directly to the dormitory building.
Serena Yeats felt shocked again, but remembering Elias Lancaster’s status, it wasn’t surprising.
She led Elias Lancaster and Nanny Livingston to the dormitory entrance.
Elias Lancaster did not go in but waited at the door.
There wasn’t much stuff, packing was quick, taking only half an hour. Nanny Livingston brought a few large storage bags, but they weren’t needed.
Just one small suitcase was enough.
Nanny Livingston wheeled the suitcase out.
As soon as Serena Yeats stepped out the dormitory door, Elias Lancaster took her hand.
He held Serena Yeats’s hand in his palm, soft and small, very comfortable.
Serena Yeats looked at their tightly held hands. His hand was big, slender, attractive, and warm; her eyes filled with delight.
The car slowly drove out of the school.
Unbeknownst to them, at the other end of the dormitory, someone was watching them.
That person was Katherine Sinclair.
She was also back to pack her things, thinking that at this time, everyone was in class, and there would be no one in the dormitory.
She chose this time, not expecting to see a man holding Serena Yeats.
She couldn’t see the man’s appearance clearly, but she could recognize Serena Yeats no matter what.
She had been expelled from the school and hid to avoid being seen.
At this moment, she smiled evilly.
It seemed it wasn’t just them being expelled; Serena Yeats couldn’t stay here either.
Probably often unable to get out of bed due to the old man’s demands, no more studying?
Though she didn’t see the old man clearly from a distance, she recalled the man from that day being really handsome!
She opened the dormitory door to pack her things, glanced at Serena Yeats’s bed and desk, clean and tidy, seemingly showing she wasn’t the only unlucky one.
Katherine Sinclair’s mood lifted instantly, humming tunes as she packed.
And Elias Lancaster continuously held Serena Yeats’s hand.
Nanny Livingston’s face showed a knowing smile, thinking now it was all good; the Lancaster Family finally had a Young Madam.
Also, two little masters, wonderful!
Upon arriving home, the car came to a stop, and Serena Yeats was asleep.
Elias Lancaster didn’t wake her, unfastened the seatbelt, and bent down to carry her out of the car.
Watching the sleeping person on the bed.
Her eyebrows curved, eyelashes long and dense, and her small nose uplifted, like a fine piece of art.
He subconsciously extended his hand to measure her face.
Her face was so small, only the size of his palm.
Day by day passed, and the relationship between Elias Lancaster and Serena Yeats grew better; Serena Yeats was now not afraid of him at all.
Elias Lancaster was bowing his head, responding to Nanny Livingston’s message. The other party toasted him, he responded politely.
Theodore Lynch leaned over and glanced at his phone, catching the words: "Tell her I’ll be home soon."
Theodore Lynch’s eyes widened as if he’d seen a ghost.
Master Lancaster meant it? Was genuinely attracted?
After finishing the message, Elias Lancaster took a bite, giving Theodore Lynch’s exaggerated reaction a glance.
The next moment.
"Clatter!"
Elias Lancaster set down his chopsticks, "Finished eating."
He said he was done, no one dared to say anything.
A business dinner, merely half an hour, ended so simply.
Elias Lancaster didn’t give Theodore Lynch any time for gossip, got directly into the car, and drove away.
Serena Yeats, after having dinner, the sky outside hadn’t completely darkened; she sat in the garden pavilion watching the distant clouds.
Elias Lancaster walked over, "Next time use a cushion, it’ll be more comfortable."
Nanny Livingston, upon hearing this, immediately went to get one.
Serena Yeats heard his voice and promptly turned back to look at him smiling, "Mister, you’re back."
"Mm." Elias Lancaster walked to her side and sat down.
"Have you eaten?"
"I have." Elias Lancaster said, playing with her hand.
Nanny Livingston brought the cushion over, and Serena Yeats felt warm inside, "Thank you, Nanny Livingston."
"Young Madam, no need to thank, Young Master likes you, cares about you, we’re all happy!"
Upon hearing this, Serena Yeats’s face flushed red instantly.
Elias Lancaster did not refute, just nodded, stood up, "Serena, let’s go for a walk."
She sneakily glanced at Elias Lancaster.
His face was stern and cool, features well-defined.
The exterior seemed cold, yet he was meticulous.
He knew well about the matters concerning pregnant women, aware of taboos and everything.
If it weren’t for The Lancaster Family’s difficulty with offspring, plus the stack of parenting books in the study, she would doubt if he had been a father before.
Suddenly, Serena Yeats’s heart inexplicably felt a wave of panic.
She realized she didn’t know Elias Lancaster at all.
Could he already have someone he liked?
Realizing this, she suddenly stopped her steps.
Seeing her stop, Elias Lancaster lowered his head to look.
Her eyes were watery, very confused, looking dazed.
"What’s wrong?" Elias Lancaster asked with concern.
