Chapter 28 The Astonishingly Cool Golden Eagle

Following the gazes of the crowd, they saw a giant bird bathed in golden sunlight descending from the clouds in the azure sky.

Its majestic form, immense wings, and gleaming talons all proclaimed its dominance as the ruler of the skies.

In the next second, it plunged directly towards the artificial lake in the center of the zoo.

Before the crowd could react, its talons, glinting with cold light, snatched at the lake’s surface.

In the blink of an eye, its rapidly descending form ascended with an almost impossible speed, and in its talons was a large carp, red and white in color.

Witnessing this, the tourists in the zoo erupted in cheers.

"Holy crap, that's so cool! What kind of bird is that? How can it be so big?"

"Must be an eagle. With that presence, I wouldn't doubt for a second it could carry me off."

"Now that's the kind of pet a real man should have. No wonder ancient people liked keeping eagles."

"This eagle, paired with that big husky at the entrance, is just perfect."

"Indeed, being a zookeeper is a romantic profession."

"Speaking of which, it just dove from hundreds of meters up. How did it spot the fish in the lake from that height?"

"Hundreds of meters? That's nothing. Eagles' visual cells are tens of times more developed than humans'. From over a thousand meters, they can spot mice underground."

"Lucky I managed to film it diving. This is a sight not everyone gets to see."

"True. I've seen eagles at other zoos before, but they always seemed listless. The animals here are so energetic."

"Energetic? I'd say deranged. I just came from over there, and a parrot was cussing out a tourist for half an hour. Now, whenever someone walks by, it tells them to call it 'Daddy'."

"You've got a point. I'm not worried about the physical condition of the animals in this zoo, but their mental state is questionable. They all seem to have some serious issues."

"No, I think the zookeeper himself seems quite normal. There's no reason for him to raise such eccentric animals."

However, no sooner had the tourist finished speaking than a young man pushed through the crowd.

He roared up at the giant bird in the sky:

"Li Shuangying, who told you to catch fish from the lake? Do you know who you caught? That's one of our oldest employees."

"Let it go immediately!"

Hearing the young man's words, the tourists exchanged bewildered glances.

They could somewhat comprehend talking to dogs and cats, but talking to an eagle? Would it even understand?

At that very moment, the bird, which had already flown back into the sky, seemed to have actually understood human speech. It flew back, still gripping the koi carp that hadn't yet been eaten.

As it descended to about ten meters above the ground, to the astonishment of the crowd, it flew directly towards Yang Lin.

For a moment, everyone even covered their eyes.

In their minds, such a raptor was beyond the capabilities of ordinary people to handle.

Its gleaming talons could easily inflict bloody wounds.

However, in the next second, Yang Lin suddenly extended his right hand, and a vast shadow enveloped his head.

The crowd felt a gust of strong wind, and a behemoth appeared on Yang Lin's right arm.

Looking at the immense avian creature, golden-brown in color and comparable in size to a young child, the crowd's attention was immediately captured.

Compared to ordinary golden eagles, Li Shuangying, having awakened its talents, surpassed ordinary golden eagles in both appearance and intelligence, and was even larger. As a result, no one in the crowd could recognize it.

But one thing they were certain of was that this giant bird was undeniably majestic.

Seeing Li Shuangying standing meekly on Yang Lin's arm, the crowd eagerly asked:

"Zoo director, is this also an animal kept in your zoo? What kind of bird is it? Is it an eagle?"

"Yes, this bird seems very familiar with you. No, it seems like all the animals in the zoo are familiar with you."

"Zoo director, I want to ask, if one were to privately keep such a bird, how much would it cost? Oh, no, I mean, how many years would one be sentenced?"

In response to the crowd's questions, Yang Lin, while returning the koi carp from Li Shuangying's talons back into the artificial lake, slowly explained:

"Of course, it's one of the animals kept in our zoo. If I didn't recognize it, I'd probably be dead by now."

"This large bird is scientifically known as a Golden Eagle, a bird of prey belonging to the family Accipitridae and the genus Aquila."

"As for why I'm familiar with all the animals, that's perfectly normal. After all, they are my charges."

"And for the friend who just asked about keeping it, the very thought is dangerous. It is currently a first-class protected animal in our Dragon Country. You can figure out the sentencing yourself, but it's likely to be a life sentence."

Yang Lin's words immediately silenced the tourist.

"Aren't they supposed to say that the uglier the creature, the longer the sentence? It looks so handsome, why would it get such a long sentence?"

"Perhaps its handsomeness is just our human definition. In the eyes of birds, brightly colored ones are considered beautiful, like that silly bird over there."

As they spoke, the crowd noticed that the macaw, which had been verbally abusing tourists in the aviary, had also flown over. With a few flaps of its wings, it landed on Yang Lin's left arm, clearly vying for attention.

Seeing this, the tourists' faces lit up with surprise.

"Wow! Another beautiful big parrot!"

"Beautiful? This one can give you high blood pressure with its insults."

"One is dark and cold, the other is a wisecracking chatterbox. How can one person raise two birds with such opposite personalities?"

"One bird taking up one arm? Isn't the zoo director pure idiocy?"

As the crowd enthusiastically took out their phones to take pictures and videos, Chen Kexin, dressed in her work uniform, suddenly ran up to Yang Lin.

"Cousin brother, cousin brother, someone is looking for you outside."

"I've told you countless times, don't call me cousin brother at work. Call me by my title."

Yang Lin, who had been posing perfectly, was interrupted by Chen Kexin and quickly adopted a serious expression.

However, Chen Kexin's next words immediately changed his expression.

"It's the police, so many police officers, and reporters too. Did you do something illegal?"

Chen Kexin's words shocked not only Yang Lin but also the tourists, who were filled with curiosity.
