Everyone in the Dragon Country naturally held a sense of awe towards the police, and Yang Lin was no exception.
Having just dealt with them last night, seeing them show up again so soon made it hard for him not to assume the worst.
Of course, he wasn't the only one thinking this way; even the tourists in the park shared the same sentiment.
"Wow, what did the zoo director do to have the police show up at his door?"
"He must have done something shady, like illegally smuggling animals?"
"That's not necessarily true, he could have committed some other crime."
"We'll find out if we go take a look. I hope the director is okay, and if something happened, it won't affect these animals, right?"
"Right, it doesn't matter if the director gets arrested, as long as these animals stay."
"I'm starting to like the animals in this zoo more and more."
"Then you must be sick."
...
Surrounded by a crowd of tourists, Yang Lin, filled with trepidation, slowly approached the entrance of the zoo.
Instantly, several police cars with flashing lights appeared before his eyes.
In addition to the police cars, there were over a dozen media reporters, armed with various professional equipment.
"Are they really here to arrest me? Why such a grand show? Are those reporters from the legal channel?"
As Yang Lin pondered this, a familiar figure appeared before him.
"Director Yang, we meet again."
It was none other than Lin Feng, the detachment captain who was in charge of the operation last night. He still had a large pair of dark circles under his eyes, but his expression was quite excited.
Seeing Lin Feng's demeanor, Yang Lin instinctively extended his hands.
However, what greeted him were not cold handcuffs, but a pair of rough hands.
"Director Yang, we are truly indebted to you this time."
"After a night of interrogation, we have successfully cracked this large-scale animal smuggling case that spans several countries."
"Without you, we might not have even detected their entry into Ningnan, let alone captured their leader."
"Therefore, the successful resolution of this case owes you a first-class merit!"
Saying this, Lin Feng gestured for a police officer standing nearby to come forward.
As the officer approached, Yang Lin noticed he was holding a banner and a small box.
"After unanimous agreement from the higher-ups, we have not only applied for the full reward for you but also specially applied for Ningnan City's first 'Good Citizen Award'."
"This is your banner and medal."
With that, Lin Feng took the banner and medal from the officer and presented them both to Yang Lin.
The onlookers, who had gathered expecting to see some drama, immediately understood the situation when they witnessed this scene.
They had initially thought Yang Lin had done something wrong, which was why the police were looking for him.
Now, it appeared that not only had he not done anything wrong, but he had done something good.
However, the conversation between the two left them somewhat confused.
Cross-border smuggling, leaders, Yang Lin was just a zoo director, how could he be involved in an international case?
As everyone was filled with questions, Lin Feng took the initiative to gather the reporters.
Casually taking a microphone from one of the reporters, he announced loudly:
"Hello, esteemed tourists from all over the country, and thank you for visiting Ningnan."
"I am Lin Feng, Captain of the Ningnan City Criminal Investigation Detachment. Today, we are here primarily to commend Mr. Yang Lin, the director of Xihong Zoo, for his significant contributions to Ningnan, and indeed, to the entire Dragon Country."
"Just yesterday, a group of extremely ruthless poachers entered Ningnan..."
...
As Lin Feng recounted the events, the audience quickly pieced together what had happened the previous night.
When they heard that Yang Lin single-handedly apprehended the leader of the poaching group and their accomplices, the scene erupted with enthusiastic applause.
"Damn, I never would have thought this director was such a tough guy. He took down seven armed poachers by himself."
"I always wondered why the animals were so obedient to him. Turns out it wasn't by reason, but by force."
"He runs a zoo, so it's normal for him to learn a few moves from animals, like monkey fist, tiger fist, or ape fist."
"You don't know anything. The director probably learned the 'turtle fist'."
"Be careful, he might just throw you into the tiger enclosure later."
"Is he really that strong? One person against seven, and armed ones at that?"
.....
As the crowd buzzed with discussion, Yang Lin, holding the medal and banner, stepped forward.
"As an animal worker, protecting wildlife is my inherent duty."
"Actually, I want to say that the reason we were able to apprehend those poachers this time was not solely my accomplishment."
As soon as he finished speaking, he called out towards the distance amidst the puzzled gazes of the tourists.
"Gou Dan, Gou Sheng, you few, come here!"
As his voice faded, the sounds of dog barks soon echoed from within the park.
The next moment, to the astonishment of the tourists, Li Gou Dan and Li Gou Sheng, along with the rest of the Paw Patrol, trotted over.
Upon reaching Yang Lin, they quickly lined up and sat down in order.
"In reality, the reason I was able to subdue those poachers yesterday was entirely thanks to them."
"The ones who truly defeated those poachers were these brave dogs."
Hearing Yang Lin's words, everyone immediately turned their astonished gazes towards the Paw Patrol members.
They had initially thought these few little dogs were just props Yang Lin used for performances or to create a sensation.
They never expected them to be capable of capturing fierce poachers.
To prevent disbelief, Yang Lin quickly instructed the dogs to perform various difficult stunts.
It was at this moment that the tourists realized that these dogs, whom they had only seen as playful and cute, possessed combat capabilities no less than that of ordinary wolves, making it understandable how they could have defeated the poachers.
On the other side, Lin Feng's eyes lit up with excitement upon witnessing the performance of these dogs.
After the dogs finished their demonstration, he quickly approached Yang Lin and said:
"Director Yang, I didn't expect the Paw Patrol to be the ones who made such a significant contribution this time. They are so outstanding; have you considered finding them a part-time job?"
"Part-time job?" Yang Lin was still a bit taken aback by Lin Feng's sudden suggestion.
"I mean, letting them become police dogs, on the public payroll, with a monthly allowance. Our police force really needs dogs like them."
"What? You mean you want my dogs to go out and work? And then I'll be living off the dogs?"
After some thought, Yang Lin finally understood Lin Feng's intention. This was a move from the private sector to the public sector for the Paw Patrol.
Normally, dogs wouldn't receive such treatment.
He himself hadn't managed to get a permanent position after graduation, yet these dogs were getting one first.
Of course, Yang Lin definitely wouldn't let the Paw Patrol become police dogs. It wasn't out of concern for them, but rather for the police officers.
These fellows were too cunning. In real danger, they would surely instigate other police dogs to go first, turning the police force into chaos.
And if they were eventually returned, that would be a huge embarrassment.
Just when Yang Lin thought things couldn't get any more surprising, a reporter holding a microphone suddenly asked:
"Director Yang, are you interested in letting these dogs debut?"
