"How is this possible! You were hit by an electronic jamming round, why can you still move freely?"
Jing Mingqiu glanced at Morton Owen dismissively. "Using graphite fiber spray to short-circuit electronic devices? Don't embarrass yourself with such an outdated attack method!"
With that, Jing Mingqiu casually snapped his fingers.
A flash of fire erupted, and the black substance covering the mecha was completely incinerated, revealing its original form.
"You, don't celebrate too early! We have many trump cards prepared," Morton Owen shouted as he retreated, trying to distract Jing Mingqiu.
Jing Mingqiu had long noticed his small movements, but to play along with their act, he deliberately adopted an arrogant demeanor, hands behind his back, with a mix of disdain, indifference, and casualness in his eyes.
"Oh, you seem quite confident! I'm in a good mood today, so I'll give you a chance to perform. Go ahead!"
"If you're courting death, don't blame me for being merciless..."
Morton Owen hid behind cover, issuing his threat. The scene fell silent, with no immediate reaction.
As the atmosphere grew increasingly awkward, Morton Owen quickly kicked a nearby soldier. "What are you standing there for! Hurry up and act!"
"Yes, sir!"
The American soldier instinctively saluted Morton Owen. Seeing his murderous gaze, he was flustered and quickly rushed to the electromagnetic cannon, pulling the trigger.
A fist-sized metal projectile, charged with the kinetic energy of thousands of electromagnetic fields, was fired with immense force.
It instantly penetrated the defense of the American research base, creating a large hole in the ceiling, from which a torrent of yellow sand began to gush.
"Good power, but the aim is a bit off!" Jing Mingqiu looked at Morton Owen with a half-smile.
"How did you fire! How could it deviate this much? Get out of the way, let me!" Morton Owen kicked away the soldier who had just fired, grabbed the controller, aimed at Jing Mingqiu's chest, and fiercely pulled the trigger.
"Boom!"
After a brief delay, the electromagnetic projectile slammed into Jing Mingqiu. Under the massive impact, the alloy projectile instantly deformed, flattening into a large pancake on Jing Mingqiu's chest.
Jing Mingqiu played along perfectly, clutching his chest, staggering slightly, and then falling to the ground as if incapacitated!
"Hahahahahaha!" Morton Owen laughed to the sky. "Jing Mingqiu, what good is your indestructible mecha? A direct hit from the electromagnetic cannon, the powerful impact is enough to turn all your internal organs into pulp!"
"That remains to be seen," Jing Mingqiu's face showed a playful smile. He reached out with his right hand, grabbed the electromagnetic projectile that had turned into a metal disc, and threw it towards Morton Owen. "What goes around comes around. You've given me so many gifts, let me return one!"
Seeing the metal disc hurtling towards his forehead, Morton Owen nearly wet himself, scrambling backward on his hands and knees.
But it was too late. Although he dodged the vital point, his legs were still smashed into a bloody mess. He was dragged behind cover by his subordinates, howling in agony.
Jing Mingqiu remained standing, showing no intention of pursuing. Instead, with a dismissive shrug, he said, "Is that all? The world's number one military power, is this all the strength you have?"
With the help of military medics, managing to staunch the bleeding, and facing Jing Mingqiu's provocation, Morton Owen ordered his soldiers to initiate laser attacks while pulling out his phone to call the American military command for help.
"Sir! Requesting reinforcements, requesting reinforcements! Jing Mingqiu is too strong, I can't hold on!"
"Don't be afraid, reinforcements are on the way and will arrive soon."
After reassuring Morton Owen, the Supreme Commander of the United States, at the White House command center, had a grim expression. "If we send reinforcements now, Jing Mingqiu might escape before the 'Hand of God' arrives!"
Hearing this, Hudson Allen stood up tactfully. "Leave the task of delaying Jing Mingqiu to me. Those bio-beasts cultivated by our group are not so easily dealt with!"
"Alright, then I'll entrust it all to you, Mr. Hudson! I'll have him hold the line for now, and you quickly arrange for the bio-beasts to be transported."
"The cultivation tanks containing the bio-beasts have already been delivered to the research base, but," Hudson Allen paused, "Commander, these bio-beasts are not convenient to be seen by the public. Can all your soldiers maintain secrecy?"
The Commander understood the implication in Hudson Allen's words and said without hesitation: "Let them be buried with that genius from Longguo. With an entire American army present, it will be easier to cover our tracks."
"After all, who would attack their own army unless it was a sudden malfunction?"
With that, they exchanged a knowing glance and a tacit smile.
Unaware that he had already been deemed expendable, Morton Owen watched Jing Mingqiu, who had his eyes closed and was directly charging his mecha with lasers. A deep sense of malice and ferocity flickered in his eyes.
"Jing Mingqiu, don't be so arrogant! My reinforcements are arriving soon. How dare you provoke the might of Great America! You're dead this time!"
Just as he finished his threat, a subordinate's scream suddenly came from behind him, "Monster, it's a monster!"
"What are you screaming about!" Morton Owen replied without turning his head. "Jing Mingqiu is indeed a monster, but so what? Wasn't that arrogant polar bear torn to shreds by us back then, huh!"
Mid-sentence, Morton Owen suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. He looked down and saw a gleaming claw, which had somehow pierced his chest and ripped out his heart.
Morton Owen turned his head, trying to get a glimpse of his attacker. As he turned, with a "schwing," the claw crushed his heart.
Then, screams followed one after another. A large number of bio-beasts, with bizarre appearances and stitched seams all over their bodies, rushed out from the depths of the research base, tearing apart the American soldiers who stood in their way.
Afghan Commander's Personal Guard, Eddie Wooton, trembled as he watched the bio-beasts devouring corpses. "Professor Jing, these things are too terrifying. Let's retreat quickly!"
"No rush," Jing Mingqiu waved his hand. "You take your men and leave first. I'm feeling a bit restless, I'll go meet these guys."
Eddie Wooton suppressed his fear and shook his head forcefully. "No! Professor Jing, you're here to help, I can't leave you here alone!"
Before Jing Mingqiu could respond, Eddie Wooton climbed to a higher vantage point and rallied the other Afghan soldiers. "Brothers, don't be afraid, they're just bigger wild beasts. Raise your spears and let them know the power of technology!"
With that, Eddie Wooton raised his semi-automatic rifle, aimed at the leading bio-beast, and fired twice.
"Bang! Bang!"
After two gunshots, the bio-beast's eyes were hit simultaneously. Its eyes instantly turned into two black holes, and it fell to the ground, letting out a pained roar.
Seeing this, the morale of the Afghan soldiers surged. They all raised their weapons and launched attacks at the strange bio-beasts.
Bullets whistled through the air, but the battle was not looking good.
Ordinary bullets couldn't penetrate the bio-beasts' skin, and even if they managed to hit some weak spots, they were immediately blocked by their robust muscles.
As the bio-beasts advanced, the morale of the Afghan army sank lower and lower. At this moment, Eddie Wooton made an even more desperate discovery.
The bio-beast he had just blinded had somehow regrown its eyes and was now glaring at him menacingly.
"Roar!"
The bio-beast roared and lunged at Eddie Wooton.
Eddie Wooton had no time to dodge. As the bio-beast's fangs grew closer, he could faintly smell its foul breath. He gave up resisting and closed his eyes in despair...
