Chapter 255: Chapter 255: Back
[3rd POV]
After reappearing back in her home universe, Gwen had claimed the rewards of the quests she had completed, which had given her enough to shoot her SL tickets up to 20. 20 SL tickets would be a huge boon for the future, but she decided against claiming it just yet, and would instead claim it once she went to DC, which she planned on doing in a couple of days.
Instead, she wanted to acclimate to the new power and domains she had within her, growing her connection and control over them. That, and she needed to learn to properly control her power from the Soul Land characters, as they were different in this body of hers, influenced by each other in unique ways.
She hoped to get Tang San or Huo Yuhao soon, as both would be the best choices for her current body, but she supposed it was all up to her own luck. Luck that was constantly increasing with her literally being able to influence it, which she suspects is the reason why she tends to get what she needs, at least, for the most part.
"Did your hunt go well, ma’am?" Karn asked from the Web, as she sat in a seated position to cultivate and meditate in.
"Mmhmm, it went very well, much better than I was expecting. The Gods there were a bunch of monstrous creatures that deserved the death I placed upon them. But...I will admit that there were a few that I wish I could have left alive, but had I done that, it likely would have made things much worse in the long run" Gwen replied, knowing that if she left even a single God from those pantheons alive, they would eventually repopulate, bringing more Gods to Earth, and then it would start again.
Better to wipe them all out for good, in case of Gods like the ones in that universe.
In her universe, it was much more complicated, as none of them were completely evil like that, except for the literal Evil/Dark Gods. In this universe the Asgardians were much nicer people, and had long since given up conquest and war for peace and prosperity.
She actually liked the Thor of this universe, so she’d leave them alone. The only Asgardian she would absorb is Cul, and that is because he was better off dead, even in this universe. Same with a handful of other Gods, a part of other pantheons.
That, and she doubted certain...higher ups would be pleased if she kept absorbing and consuming Gods.
Honestly, the fact that the Tribunal or Death hadn’t contacted her yet was a miracle. She was certain that they knew exactly what she was doing, but not why she was doing it. She preferred to keep it that way until Knull came around, whenever that’d be happening.
The timeline was all messed up thanks to her influence, so he was coming around earlier than normal. As before, he didn’t appear until way after the Incursions. But now? Now it was earlier, way earlier. And that...was kind of concerning.
"It was the best way to do it, ma’am. And they were not without fault as well. As standing and watching their people slaughter and rape is still awful, even if it is not them taking part in the actions themselves" Karn replied, having seen what she had done, and while it was brutal in a lot of ways, he agreed with what she had done.
She had healed that universe from the Gods, and would allow for them to grow and become whole once more, without the horrid Gods influencing them the entire time.
"Glad you agree with me at least" Gwen said with a small smile, as she began to focus on her meditation, wanting to make sure she had absolute control over her domains from the Gods, and from the Soul Land entities.

It took her a few hours to gain absolute control and understanding of her new domains and powers, but it was well spent.
She would need to look into the idea of her girlfriends gaining a way of using martial souls like those in Soul Land, but that would come for later.
She also wanted to spread cultivation to some of her civilians, as she imagined it would massively boost their overall power, and allow for the planet to become safer and safer. Especially if some of them broke into the divine realms of power, become planet buster power houses that could fight back against future problems that could potentially come their way.
But that would be for the future, as instead, she was currently in her living room.
"So you’re going to another multiverse in a couple of days?" Jean asked, having just listened to Gwen explain where she was going.
"Correction, love, we’re going to another multiverse, not just me. Can’t just ditch you all here when I’m going to see my dad and brother for the first time in...a while" Gwen responded, as M’gann giggled.
"They’re going to be furious at you" M’gann said, as Gwen sighed, already imagining how they were going to react.
"Yeah...yeah they definitely are going to be mad. But in my defense, we’ve all been very busy" Gwen responded, making up an excuse as Korra snorted.
"Babe, you can make literally billions of clones, that excuse ain’t gonna cut it" Korra said, as Gwen opened her mouth, only to pout slightly realizing that her father was definitely going to see through that lie.
"Well at least he won’t hold a grudge...right?" Jean asked, as the girls who knew Batman all looked at her, before they all let out a small laugh, with even Raven letting out a soft giggle of amusement at the thought.
"Yeah, no. The bat would gladly hold a grudge over something like this. And considering our girlfriend hasn’t spoken to him in a year in his time, he will definitely be holding one" Artemis replied with a laugh, knowing that Bruce was going to be very irritated, and he’d make it known.
"And what about your brother?" Jean asked.
"He’s a bit more willing to not hold a grudge, but he’ll probably also be pissed" Gwen said with a small pout on her lips, knowing that once they went back to that multiverse, she’d be dealing with the glares from the two of them.
Glares and the silent treatment was almost certainly in her future.
"When are we going to head over there?" Jean questioned, as Gwen hummed.
"I’m gonna say two days from now, as there are a couple of things I want to make sure are ready here, and a couple of projects I need to finish, and then we can head over and see if my dad will be pissed or not" Gwen replied after a few moments of thought, inwardly knowing that her dad and brother were absolutely going to be furious.
And honestly? She wouldn’t really blame them. She’d be mad too if the situation was reversed.
She just hoped that the gift she had prepared for them would make up for the fact that she had been gone for a lot longer than she said she would have been.
With the conversation regarding her father and brother finished and done, Gwen leaned back into her couch, as they began to watch tv, one thought on her mind as she did so.
’Soon it’ll be time to see the fam again...let’s hope they aren’t too mad’
