Chapter 213: Little monster
After stepping into the arena, I felt a pressure coming from in front of me.
This came from the examiner who was already standing in the arena.
He hadn’t released this pressure before, but now that I was in this place with him, he chose to use this pressure as if he wanted to force me back.
However, I just calmly stepped into the arena with him.
Seeing this, the examiner couldn’t help raising a brow before saying, "You’re doing well to resist my pressure. It seems that there’s more to you than meets the eyes."
I gave a simple nod before saying, "How will this work? Will it be first hit or..."
Before I could finish my question, the examiner suddenly said, "Who said anything about that? We’re just going until either you or I can’t go on any longer."
I couldn’t help revealing a surprised look since I didn’t think that the examiner would go this far.
But as the examiner said this, the receptionist from before suddenly said, "Master, you’re going too far!"
The examiner just ignored the receptionist as he looked at me. With the way that he looked at me, it seemed that he was waiting for my reaction.
However, it didn’t seem like he got the reaction that he wanted to see.
There was a faint smile that appeared on my lips after hearing what the receptionist said.
I already had my suspicions, but she basically confirmed it by saying this.
Since I had already decided that I would make a splash, then I would make it a big splash that they wouldn’t be able to ignore. With this, I should be able to make my way into the Adventurer’s Guild.
Not only that, I should be able to get some attention from them.
Seeing that I wasn’t going to do anything, the examiner decided not to waste any time.
He reached his hand out and there was a large hammer that appeared.
This was the perfect weapon for his build and the moment that he pulled it out, there was even more pressure that was released from him.
It was clear that he wasn’t a normal examiner once he did this.
All of the spectators were surprised to see this.
They obviously didn’t expect the examiner to go this far just for this kind of exam.
But in response to this, I just calmly pulled out the two daggers that I had at my waist.
Seeing that I was ready to fight, the examiner said one last time, "It isn’t too late to give up now. If we really do this, I won’t be able to hold back."
"Can we start?" I answered in a calm voice.
The examiner narrowed his eyes hearing this before suddenly disappearing.
When he disappeared, his voice rang out saying, "Then consider this the beginning of the exam."
"Boom!"
When his voice fell, his hammer did as well.
It fell right where I had been standing previously, but I was no longer there.
When the dust settled, everyone looked at the two of us with shocked looks on their faces.
That was because I was standing on the examiner’s back and my dagger was at the examiner’s throat. Of course, I didn’t push it further than that since I didn’t want to actually harm him.
This should be enough to send a message.
"Don’t show any mercy, take this seriously!" The examiner suddenly said before his body swelled.
As he did, there was this force that hit me that sent my flying. However, I wasn’t sent flying uncontrollably as I flipped a few times in the air before landing.
When I landed, I saw that the examiner was already charging at me with his hammer raised.
Though he was moving faster than most people could follow with their eyes, it was easy for me to follow him with my enhanced eyes. There were a variety of skills that I could choose from to enhance my eyes after all.
All of which allowed me to keep track of this examiner easily.
So when his hammer came down, I was already charging forward past that hammer.
I moved in a way where the hammer would fall right past me without grazing me and I would be at the throat of the examiner.
It seemed that the examiner was able to follow my movement, so I twisted slightly when he twisted his hammer to swing it back up at me. This allowed me to spin along with the force of the hammer, avoiding it as it came at me.
When I landed, I took a single step forward to place my dagger at the examiner’s throat once more.
This time, it was clear that he had been outmaneuvered.
If it wasn’t for the fact that I stopped my dagger at the last second, then it would have pierced him.
The examiner narrowed his eyes to look at me as I held my dagger at his throat like this before saying, "Are you just playing around at this point? Do you really think that this is some kind of joke?"
"I don’t want to hurt you." I replied in a calm voice.
"You hurt me? Do you really think that you can break through my defenses?" As soon as he said this, he swung his hammer at me once more which made me take a step back.
I couldn’t help shaking my head with a sigh when I saw him acting this way.
It seemed like unless I proved my point, he wouldn’t believe me.
Since he was forcing the issue, I really had no choice.
Though while this was happening, I heard a few interesting things.
"Is he really playing around with the guild master like that?"
"The guild master used to be an A Rank Adventurer before he stopped to become the guild master..."
"What is this kid? He’s a freaking little monster!"
Since they were calling me a monster, then I would show them something even more monstrous.
