Chapter 355: Eager to See Him

Chapter 355: Chapter 355: Eager to See Him

Among the bustle of other flights boarding at the same time, Summer Sutton couldn’t hear much.

Her head felt heavy and groggy because she had slept deeply. When she drowsily woke up, it was already three o’clock.

The plane had taken off an hour ago.

Summer Sutton stared stiffly at her phone’s time and was dumbfounded.

Having missed the flight, she had no other option.

She thought she’d spend the night at the airport and catch the earliest flight back tomorrow morning.

She was about to lean in for another nap when suddenly her phone rang.

The caller ID showed the name, Adrian Walyon.

It’s already three o’clock...

Summer Sutton didn’t understand the reason for his call.

She stared at the phone screen for a while before stiffly pressing the answer button.

"You didn’t call me today." Adrian Walyon’s voice came from the other end, as mellifluous as ever.

Summer Sutton was stunned.

So, he’d been waiting for her call all this time?

Having grown up self-reliant, Summer Sutton wasn’t used to leaning on anyone.

But at this moment, she didn’t want to care about any of that.

She wanted to go back, to be by his side, she wanted to see him now!

"Adrian, I’m at the airport! I had bought the latest flight for tonight, hoping to rush back overnight, and I’ve just missed it!" She was holding the phone with a trembling hand, seemingly a bit agitated.

"Wait for me right there!" Adrian paused for a short while, throwing a line her way, and then headed downstairs with long strides on the phone.

Listening to his footsteps thudding as he dashed downstairs over the phone, Summer Sutton’s restless mood suddenly calmed.

He’s coming to pick her up!

As long as she wanted to go back, no matter it being the middle of the night or them being cities apart, he’d still rush to be by her side without hesitation.

With anticipation in her heart, knowing he would come, Summer Sutton didn’t feel a speck of sleepiness anymore.

Holding the phone, sitting at the airport, she waited quietly.

Around two hours later, at about five o’clock, the airport hall resounded with thudding footsteps.

Summer Sutton followed the direction of the sound with her gaze, spotting the person stepping into the entrance and standing up spontaneously.

"Adrian, I’m here!" She called out his name from afar.

Adrian scanned to her direction, catching sight of her among the crowd and strode quickly towards her.

He hurried, each stride as if taking several steps at once.

Walking straight to Summer Sutton, approaching her side, he opened his arms and pulled her into an embrace.

"Why didn’t you tell me earlier you planned to come home? Waiting at the airport for so long without calling me?"

He launched a barrage of scolding.

Summer Sutton didn’t retort, letting him hold her tightly, not pushing him away either, "I thought you were already asleep, didn’t want to disturb you..."

"Silly?" Adrian glanced down at her, with deep and profound eyes.

Afraid she’d disturb him?

If she ever uttered that she missed him, he’d race towards her across mountains and waters!

Summer Sutton hadn’t realized this before, but after tonight, she understood.

Staring at him for quite a while, her gaze was gentle like a clear stream.

By this time, it was almost dawn, neither of them had slept the previous night.

After Adrian arrived, he didn’t linger at the airport but took her straight to a private jet.

Summer Sutton was truly exhausted, and on the return flight, she rested her head against him, sleeping for over an hour.

She leaned against Adrian comfortably; seeing her sleep soundly, he didn’t bother her.
