Chapter 767: Chapter 769: Who Sent This?
"Xiao’en, who drew this for you?"
"Who gave it to you?"
Su Xi asked, but saw that Xiao’en was already fascinated by the book she had brought.
Su Xi: "..."
Well, if Xiao’en liked the book she brought, it meant he liked her too.
"Sister-in-law, where did this album of Xiao’en’s come from? It’s quite interesting." Su Xi looked at Fang Manyin, who was entering the room, and asked deliberately.
"Oh, you’ve got the album?"
Fang Manyin was somewhat surprised; her son really treasured this album and didn’t let anyone else touch it, except for herself and her mother-in-law, Jiang Wanru.
"I’m his aunt, I bought him the book." Hearing this, Su Xi knew that Xiao’en definitely wouldn’t let anyone else touch the album. He was really good; her efforts to care for him were not in vain.
"It’s from a university student in the village. Her classmate sent it over. I was thinking about taking this chance to look for her, but unfortunately, it’s summer vacation now, and I have to wait until school starts." Fang Manyin sighed, wishing she had discovered it earlier so she could have found the person sooner.
Although she didn’t know why her son liked the girl’s album so much, Fang Manyin wouldn’t give up that bit of hope. Since finding out something was off with him at the age of three, she had consulted many doctors over the years for his condition, even seeing psychologists abroad.
The doctors only said to let the child return to a familiar environment, give him more love and encouragement, and maybe he would gradually get better.
Thus, Fang Manyin took Su Hong’en back to the country, to her mother-in-law’s nursing home, after careful consideration: to keep her mother-in-law company and because the environment here was quiet and serene.
"What’s her name? Maybe I know her." Su Xi inquired.
Just as Fang Manyin was about to answer, a nurse’s voice came from outside the door, saying they needed to get ready to go out. She didn’t elaborate, merely saying, "No worries, I can still look for her after the school reopens. Xiao’en, you will go out with your aunt and grandma today. We’ll come back in the afternoon. Is there anything you’d like to eat?"
Fang Manyin walked up to Xiao’en, took his hand, and asked.
Xiao’en looked up at Fang Manyin, shook his head, then looked down at his book again.
"Xiao’en, be good at home, and when mom comes back, I’ll bring you donkey rolls." Fang Manyin gently patted his hand, stood up, gave Su Xi a few instructions, and then left.
With Fang Manyin gone, the room was suddenly left with just the two of them, aunt and nephew.
"Would you like me to play the piano for you?" Su Xi noticed the piano to the side, and soon, the room filled with the melodious sound of piano music.
Xiao’en sat on the chair, reading his book with even greater concentration.
Beining University.
"The school has changed quite a bit." Jiang Wanru stood in front of Beining University’s gate, reminiscing about her own school days and feeling very old.
"Yes, the school has indeed undergone many changes. Dad donated a library to the school. I heard it’s really well made. Shall we go have a look later?" Fang Manyin walked slowly next to Jiang Wanru. The road was lined with trees, so it didn’t feel too hot.
"Let’s detour and see it now," Jiang Wanru walked very slowly, familiar yet feeling alien.
In the blink of an eye, decades had passed. If her daughter were still around...
Outside the library, Jiang Wanru couldn’t help but become lost in thought.
Fang Manyin knew her mother-in-law was once again missing her deceased younger sister. This library was also donated by her father-in-law for his deceased sister, hoping that she could be reincarnated into a good family.
