"Hello, sir and miss, how many in your party?"
As soon as the two were seated, a smartly dressed waiter approached from the other side. By the look of him, he must also be well-trained; after all, those who dine here are likely to be businesspeople or high-end clientele.
"Oh, I'm just passing through on a business trip, so I'm not quite sure what's good to eat around here. Just bring us two signature steaks, that will do."
"Very well, sir. Would you like anything else to drink? Some beverages, or perhaps red wine?"
"Oh, no, that won't be necessary."
"Okay, please wait a moment, I'll be right with you."
After speaking, the waiter withdrew and then Anying took out her phone and began fiddling with it, though it wasn't clear what she was doing.
"How's it going, can you get your stuff implanted in there?"
"It shouldn't be too hard. The camera is connected to a network, so as long as it's connected, that makes it easier—although if it weren't connected, that would indeed be quite troublesome for me."
While talking, Anying rapidly operated the device, and the process lasted for about three minutes.
After that, she gave a slight nod and a smile appeared on her face.
"So, everything's taken care of, right?"
"Yes, it's all sorted."
"Good, I got it. From now on, it's all on you."
While speaking, he nodded, and then the two of them began to wait patiently.
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Ye Chen, who was seated facing the entrance, looked over and saw three blonde foreigners approaching. They were dressed very casually and seemed familiar with the surroundings, laughing and talking as they walked.
"Hello."
They even warmly greeted the receptionist as they arrived, which clearly indicated that this wasn't their first visit.
Ye Chen discreetly signaled to Anying, who only glanced over and then frowned slightly. She knew it was quite possible these three men were their targets, although she still couldn't be one hundred percent certain.
After all, seeing foreigners in a tourist city wasn't particularly unusual, and for them, it was relatively common.
Watching them walk in, several waiters greeted the foreigners enthusiastically. It seemed their assumptions were likely correct; these people must have been frequent visitors to this Western restaurant, becoming regulars.
Just after they finished greeting, they pointed towards a corner, then walked down a passage heading deeper into the restaurant.
Coincidentally, the corridor was where Anying and Ye Chen were seated, so they casually glanced at the foreigners as they passed by.
Ye Chen could distinctly smell the strong scent of Cologne coming from the three foreigners. He particularly disliked this smell, always finding it rather pungent.
But this time, he could hear their conversation clearly as they walked by—they were speaking in Mandarin.
This detail struck Ye Chen as very odd. They were clearly foreigners, and normally, they should converse in their native language. However, it seemed they had completely integrated into the local lifestyle.
After they passed by, they continued to laugh and joke before eventually settling down in another corner. Soon after, a waiter approached them.
"Will it be the usual for you gentlemen today?"
"Yes, the usual, but double the red wine this time—bring us two bottles."
"Got it," replied the waiter before promptly leaving.
It must be a day of celebration given his demeanor; he seemed quite pleased.
"Do you think it could be them?"
Ye Chen whispered to Anying.
Anying shook her head slightly. She wasn't certain about this information; everything was purely speculative, based merely on surface observations.
"I'm not sure. But generally, it's normal to see some foreigners around here frequently. It's best if we remain cautious."
"Alright, I understand. But they are a bit far from us now, so we have no clue what they are discussing. Should we change our seats?"
Ye Chen had a sudden thought, suspecting something amiss about the behavior of these individuals and wanting to focus on them.
However, as soon as Ye Chen finished speaking, Anying simply shook her head gently, seemingly not quite agreeing with the idea.
"No, don't say that now. Moreover, if we move towards them, I'm afraid we might scare them off. After all, they are not ordinary people. Thus, even now we need to be extra careful, even avoiding discussing them, and don't look over there unless necessary, understood?"
"Okay, I got it."
With that, Ye Chen nodded in agreement, feeling that Anying probably had a good handle on the situation.
A while later, two steaming hot steaks were served to them. Ye Chen glanced down but wasn't particularly interested in such fare.
He would have preferred dumplings or noodles—that was more to his body's liking.
Just gazing at the red steaks made him feel full, let alone consuming the entire thing.
Across the way, an array of lavish dishes was brought to the foreigners' table as they continued to feast and toast, seemingly in great spirits.
