Chapter 113: Mission Start

Chapter 113: Mission Start

Team Legends left Villa Eight before dawn on the morning of the mission.

Soon after, they arrived in zone D and stopped at a remote compound.

"Are they ready?" Mo Chenxuan asked, looking at Xiao Junxie.

"Don’t worry, boss. Everything is ready."

While they were talking, thirty people exited the remote compound.

At a glance, these people wore form-fitting leather clothes and silver face masks.

Originally, only team Legends wore face masks.

However, while preparing for the mission, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu decided that all team members, including the army, would begin wearing face masks during team missions.

As a result, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu wore platinum masks, while Team Legends wore golden masks. The affiliated teams, including Team Shadow Warriors, wore silver masks, and the team’s army had bronze masks.

’It’s a good thing we raided T-Shop’s Fulfilment and sortation centres. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have enough masks for everyone.’ Qin Wu thought.

"The rendezvous point is one hundred metres from the West gate. Let’s go." Mo Chenxuan said and pulled Qin Wu into their car.

For this mission, Mo Chenxuan wasn’t driving their usual Hummer but an Inkas Sentry Civilian.

Looking at the imposing car, the gathered team members couldn’t help but feel envious, but they soon regained their composure and also got into their cars.

A moment later, a twenty-car convoy left zone D, passed through zone C and exited the base through the West gate.

"It’s too bad we can’t keep the West Gate pass after the mission." Qin Wu sighed.

Generally, the west gate was less crowded than the south and east gates.

Unfortunately, ordinary survivors could only use the west gate when participating in an army mission.

"Chenxuan, do you think the mission will go well?" Qin Wu suddenly asked.

"I hope it will." Mo Chenxuan answered.

On the surface, the mission was routine.

The army and teams only needed to get to the refinery, collect the supplies, and return.

However, they were living in the apocalypse and routine missions often turned deadly.

Considering this, Mo Chenxuan remained on his guard and didn’t dare to underestimate the mission.

"I hope so." Qin Wu said.

Although she was now a level three superpower, Qin Wu didn’t think she was invincible.

After all, she wasn’t immune to the zombie virus.

If something went wrong and she was infected, she would have no choice but to end her life before she turned into a zombie.

In less than five minutes, the convoy arrived at the rendezvous point.

Looking around, hundreds of cars had already arrived and people were standing in groups, discussing the coming mission.

Seeing this, Team Legends and its affiliated teams also exited their cars and stood together to analyse their plan.

"Team Legends is ranked last among the tier-A teams. As a result, our team will bring up the convoy’s rear." Mo Chenxuan stated and quickly continued.

"Xiao Junxie, Lu Hao, and Lu Yanyan will be in the lead car of our convoy."

"Got it." The three nodded in understanding.

"Following the first car will be team Shadow warriors. After team Shadow Warriors will be Xu Fei and Lin Rongrong, followed by team Eve and team Flow. Wu’er and I will bring up the rear."

"Does each car have a walkie-talkie?" Qin Wu asked.

"Our car has it." Lu Yanyan said, raising a walkie-talkie.

"Ours also has it."

"So does ours..."

After confirming that each car had a walkie-talkie, Qin Wu nodded but soon narrowed her eyes.

"What about binoculars?" She asked.

Although the apocalypse environment was gloomy and foggy, it still helped to have a pair of binoculars.

Knowing this, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu distributed binoculars to each car in the convoy.

"We have them." The team members confirmed and Qin Wu nodded in satisfaction.

Half an hour later, a majestic convoy left the city B base.

At a glance, the convoy had more than five hundred cars and looked like a gigantic snake, crawling on a desolate land.

After becoming a level three superpower, Mo Chenxuan’s spiritual ability range increased to one kilometre.

At this time, he used his ability to the limit and covered a diameter of one kilometre.

"How is it?" Qin Wu asked.

"Nothing out of the ordinary." Mo Chenxuan reported.

Because they were relatively close to the base, the convoy only encountered scattered level one zombies.

As a result, the first leg of the journey was smooth and the convoy covered a long distance before stopping for the night.

The campsite was a residential community.

Although it had been previously cleared, there were still some scattered zombies roaming around.

After the convoy stopped, Ling Hua jumped onto the roof of her vehicle and faced the crowd.

"We will stay here for the night." She informed and quickly continued.

"You may choose whichever houses you want and collect whatever supplies you find. However, no one is allowed to leave this community.

After saying that, she led her group to clear several buildings.

Similarly, the army and teams chose their preferred buildings and began clearing them.

Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu chose a five-storey building near the community’s edge.

After killing the remnant zombies, the team members chose their houses and settled for the night.

As usual, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu had supper, practised for three hours, and showered before falling asleep in each other’s arms.

The night was unprecedentedly peaceful.

At dawn, the team gathered on the ground floor.

"Let’s have breakfast together." Qin Wu said.

At the same time, she waved her hand and all manner of things flew out of her space.

Tables, chairs, pots, utensils, ...

Before leaving the base, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu discussed with the team about food and other supplies.

Eventually, the team members chose to buy cooked food from Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu at a subsidised price.

Now, for breakfast, Qin Wu provided steamed buns and coffee.

Although she could take out more, she chose not to.

After all, showing too much wealth would inspire greed and envy.

To prevent troubles, she and Mo Chenxuan decided to sell standard apocalypse food and only provide ’extravagant’ fare during special occasions.
