Chapter 333: Chapter 333: Master Moore Family’s Little Uncle
Rhonda Pierce and Mr. Moore immediately ordered the staff to turn off the projector, but no matter how they tried, they couldn’t shut it down.
Looking at the chaos on stage, Ann Vaughn suddenly recalled what Susie Sommers had said earlier. Could this be her big move?
No, even if Susie hated Silas Master Moore, she wouldn’t do something to embarrass the Master Moore Family in front of so many distinguished guests.
Instinct told Ann that there was something more to this.
"I counted, this woman has been with at least four men... Tsk tsk, Eldest Young Master Moore’s got a brand-new hat of green pastures?" came a voice filled with malicious glee.
"I bet she was set up, otherwise why would this clip play at this exact moment? She can forget about marrying into the Master Moore Family now."
"What’s disgusting to think someone like her is engaged to Young Master Moore? I’m about to lose my dinner!"
"I heard Leona Chambers is pregnant, who knows, maybe the child isn’t even Young Master Moore’s."
Amid a cacophony of gossip, Ann suddenly heard Susie Sommers sitting beside her speak sarcastically, "I think Silas should just change his name to Silas Green instead."
"Susie, who do you think did all this?" Ann touched her wrist, contemplating.
"Whoever it was, I thank their entire family. They did what I wanted to do but couldn’t."
At that moment, Susie saw Rhonda Pierce beckoning her and laughed mockingly, "Rhonda probably thinks I did this. I’ll go over, but no matter what happens next, don’t come over, I’m begging you."
Susie finished speaking and then got up to head towards Rhonda.
Who would have thought that as she approached, Silas, who had been standing motionless on stage, suddenly raised his hand and slapped Susie across the face!
The crowd was shocked.
Ann stood up abruptly, her delicate fingers tightly clenched, her gaze icy as she looked in Silas’s direction.
Remembering what Susie had just said, if she went over now, she wouldn’t be able to take Susie away and would only make it harder for her, so she held back.
"This slap is a lesson from me, your elder brother!" Silas’s wickedly handsome face was icy as he raised his hand for another slap, "This is to teach you decency and shame!"
His voice was neither loud nor soft, yet all the guests heard it clearly.
And they saw Susie’s cheeks rapidly swell and redden, and her expression of shock and stupefaction.
Those two slaps were like sharp, straight knives stabbing fiercely into Susie’s chest, shattering the passionate love she had proudly held onto for so many years into dust.
It felt as if something had shattered along with Silas’s slap, never to be mended again.
Susie wanted to force a smile, but the sting on her cheeks made her eyes fill with tears, her entire body seething with embarrassment.
Yet standing before her were her so-called family and former closest friend.
Rhonda glanced at her with disappointment and disgust before shifting her gaze to her stepfather.
Her stepfather seemed to have guessed something from Silas’s actions, his gaze holding a trace of displeasure and dissatisfaction.
As for Leona Chambers, her pale face was filled with a suppressed delight and schadenfreude, unable to be hidden even by her heavy makeup.
Finally, the man she had loved so deeply gazed at her as if looking at something filthy and terrifying, his hand raised to strike again.
What did she do wrong?
Susie thought sorrowfully, not even having the strength to resist.
Just as Silas’s raised hand was about to land on Susie’s face again, a voice suddenly interrupted his action, "Is this how the Master Moore Family teaches you manners, respect, right and wrong?"
The voice was gentle as if jade stones were dropping onto a platter, echoing pleasantly like a stream in the mountains or the sound of water dripping onto stones, captivating.
Silas’s mischievous eyes widened slightly, "Uncle, Uncle?!"
At the sound of "Uncle," everyone turned to look at the elegant man, sitting in a wheelchair, exuding a warm demeanor like jade.
Julian Master Moore.
He was the once-famous genius of the Master Moore Family, having earned dual degrees from a university in M Country at just seventeen. Upon returning home, he did not enter any of the companies under the Master Moore Family but founded his own company instead.
Without leveraging any of the family’s resources, he created wonders in the IT industry, collecting international awards effortlessly.
Yet in his prime, an accident robbed him of all his brilliance and limitless prospects, leaving him to spend his remaining days with only a cold wheelchair as company, a tale that evoked endless sighs.
"Uncle, you don’t know the things this woman has done, she’s trying to ruin my relationship with Leona!" Silas was stunned for a second, then came back to his senses to explain.
"Before accusing someone, the first thing you should do is present evidence, not smear others with unfounded claims." Julian’s face was calm, showing no extra emotion, "So, do you have any?"
"I..."
"If not, then apologize."
Silas furrowed his brow in reluctance, but even his father didn’t dare to say anything disrespectful to Uncle, let alone him.
Susie, standing beside Julian, looked at him in surprise, her eyes openly filled with curiosity.
She hadn’t spent much time with the Master Moore Family and had even fewer encounters with this uncle, having almost no interactions.
Yet he chose to believe her, a stepdaughter, in such a situation...
When Silas stubbornly refused to apologize to Susie, Julian turned his head slightly, his luminous eyes locking on Susie, and said to her word by word, "Hit him back the same way he hit you."
"Don’t show him any courtesy."
With these words, the complexions of Silas and Leona turned a myriad of hues, strikingly noteworthy.
Not to mention Susie, at the center, almost thinking Julian was speaking in sarcasm.
But when she glanced at Julian, she saw only seriousness, not insincerity, in those black obsidian-like warm eyes, leaving her stunned.
She didn’t even notice when Annie left the hall.
On the lawn outside the hall.
Ann ran down the white stone steps, searching all the places she could see, but still not spotting the figure she had seen at the hall entrance earlier.
It couldn’t be that in broad daylight, she saw wrong before nightfall.
Furthermore, this was Silas’s engagement party, he was bound to attend.
Thinking this, Ann walked along the nearby paths for another round, until entering the garden, she turned and unexpectedly saw Cyrus Hawthorne standing tall outside the flower bed.
And... facing him, a girl’s face radiating blushing shyness.
The two seemed to be having an engaging conversation, but she was too far to hear what they were saying. However, the girl’s blush was clearly visible to Ann’s eyes.
It was incredibly glaring.
