Chapter 294: Chapter 304 Following You

Of course, what made her even more exasperated was the man who got out of that silver-gray car.

"Judging by your look, the interview wasn’t successful again?" Dorian Howards said with a harmless smile.

Alice Conley rolled her eyes, "This doesn’t seem to be any of your business, Mr. Howards. Also, how long do you plan on following me?" These past few days, every time she went out, he’d drive and follow her.

"Why, are you afraid I’ll follow you until the end of time?" Dorian raised an eyebrow.

Those words... why do they sound so awkward? Until the end of time... she once wished they could, but it turned out they didn’t, not even for the few months they dated.

"You can follow if you like, the road doesn’t belong to my family. But aren’t you afraid I’ll misunderstand and think you’re still hung up on our past and can’t let go?"

Dorian chuckled; she was probably the only one who would describe him with the words "can’t let go."

But he responded, "What if I really can’t forget the past and can’t let go?"

Alice was momentarily speechless.

And Dorian had already taken a step closer, moving nearer to her. "Alice, have you ever thought about being with me again?"

Alice lost herself in thought. This man once felt like a jackpot boyfriend to her. Back then, she felt so lucky, and every day with him was so joyful.

But soon she realized that her luck couldn’t last. Reality, at times, could be harsh.

She thought that after the breakup, they’d go their separate ways. But just over three years later, he appeared before her again, still as graceful and handsome as ever.

Time had favored him, making him more mature and even more charming.

Suddenly, a voice interrupted Alice’s reverie.

"Mr. Howards, what brings you here? I didn’t know you’d be here today, or I would have waited for you. Would you like to come upstairs?" a man greeted Dorian warmly.

However, beneath this warmth was a hint of cautious respect.

Dorian merely smiled lightly, "Oh, nothing, I’m just here with a friend who’s interviewing."

The man’s eyes widened, and his attention finally settled on Alice. "Is this young lady interviewing here?"

Alice gave a dry chuckle and nodded briefly.

The man quickly said, "Oh, you’re a friend of Mr. Howards, why bother with the interview, just mention it and you’re in."

"She’s serious and believes in following the proper procedure," Dorian replied.

"Yes, right, serious people do things well," the man said repeatedly, praising Alice to the skies, as if eager to offer her a manager position right away.

Finally, after the man left, Alice asked Dorian, "Who was that?"

"The CEO of the company you just interviewed with," Dorian said casually, and Alice nearly spat out a mouthful of blood. Earlier she had interviewed with a manager, and that manager had been so full of themselves.

Yet meeting the CEO, the CEO’s posture was incredibly low.

Of course, Alice was well aware that the CEO’s humbleness was entirely due to the presence of Dorian by her side.
