Chapter 295: Chapter 305: The Square Where We Once Broke Up

"Probably before tonight, you’ll get a notice to go back to work," Dorian Howards said with a light smile.

Alice Conley was speechless, so she simply walked past him and headed towards the bus stop.

Dorian shrugged, got into his car, and leisurely followed behind Alice.

Such a luxury car following her like this honestly drew quite a bit of attention. Along the way, many people glanced her way, and one girl, wearing a school uniform and looking like a high school student, ran up to her and said, "Big sister, did you have a fight with your boyfriend? Your boyfriend is so handsome, following you all the way in his car. Forgive him, won’t you? Otherwise, he’ll look so pitiful."

Alice felt like she was about to spit blood. Dorian pitiful? What a joke! She seriously thought this little girl had watched too many idol dramas.

Yet this wasn’t the only person who came up to her. On the short walk to the bus stop, several people had run up to her to say similar things.

An older woman even said directly, "I say, young lady, if you’re having a spat with your boyfriend, don’t use this method. It’s easy to cause a traffic accident with your boyfriend driving behind you like this. You young people need to think about those around you even when in love."

Alice was sweating profusely, "Ma’am, this man is really not my boyfriend." At most, he could only be considered a former ex-boyfriend.

The result was the older woman glaring, "He’s not your boyfriend, and he’d follow you like this?"

Alice genuinely wanted to shout to the heavens. Please, does she have "Dorian Howards’ Girlfriend" engraved on her forehead? Why do so many people misunderstand?

Alice turned around helplessly, and Dorian’s car stopped there.

She walked to the front of the car and knocked on the window.

The window rolled down, and she asked, "What exactly do you want to do?"

"Wherever you want to go, how about I take you?" he said with a smile.

She pressed her lips together, opened the car door, and sat in the passenger seat, "Alright then, let’s go to Longjoy Square."

Dorian’s body stiffened almost imperceptibly, but he said nothing, only started the car, pressed the gas pedal, and drove in the direction of Longjoy Square.

Along the way, Alice looked at the scenery retreating continuously on both sides, remembering that one day when she also watched the scenery retreating from a bus with her heart in such pain.

Though it was only a few months of romance, for her, it became etched deeply in her memory.

She thought she had forgotten, but when Dorian reappeared in front of her, she realized she hadn’t truly forgotten. Those past memories, with his reappearance, became vivid once more.

At the square, Alice got out of the car first, with Dorian following behind her.

She stopped in front of a sculpture at the center of the square, turned to him, and said, "Remember what this place is?"

"I remember, it’s where we broke up that year," he said with a faint smile, though his eyes were filled with depth.

"So I thought we were already on separate paths," she said. "I don’t know what you want by following me these days. Surely Mr. Howard doesn’t intend to rekindle our past, does he?"

"Why not?" he stepped forward and asked in return.
