Chapter 164: I Want To Have a Baby
Halle sat on the bed, pale. She was holding a glass of water in her hand, but her lips were dry.
Halle tried hard to pretend to be happy when she saw Hilla, but she failed. "You are back, Hilla. Have you had dinner?"
Halle tried to talk gently. Hilla stepped forward and held Halle’s hand. They were wet and cold and they were also trembling.
"What’s up?"
Hilla looked at Halle’s belly subconsciously and it was still there. Hilla let out a sigh of relief but she still frowned.
Although Halle looked weak, she wasn’t timid. What could scare her like this?
"Didn’t you go to the doctor today? Where is Horton?"
Hilla looked around. She wanted to find Horton and beat him up.
Halle went to the doctor with Horton. How did he take care of Halle?
It was not his child, so Horton didn’t take care at all.
Hilla was regretful. She shouldn’t have set them together. Like Halle had once said, they could take care of each other and live well.
"Dr. Hutt is in the kitchen."
"Did he just leave you alone in the room?"
"I was hungry, so I asked him to make something to eat. We are not home today, so the housekeeper took a holiday."
Hilla calmed down after listening to Halle’s explanation. Fortunately, Horton didn’t leave Halle alone. Otherwise, Hilla would beat him up.
Halle seemed to calm down as she talked with Hilla. After all, she would feel much more at ease when she saw Hilla. Perhaps this was because of the so-called kinship.
"Is there anything wrong with the baby? Or ..."
"I met Titus!"
Halle didn’t want to hide it from Hilla, so she answered before Hilla finished asking.
Hilla opened his mouth and said, "Did he bully you? Is it because you were pregnant and had a big belly?"
Hilla thought that after the divorce, Halle got pregnant before marriage. When Titus saw Halle, he would consider Halle fallen.
Hilla thought that Titus humiliated Halle, so she was very angry.
She shouldn’t have had mercy on him.
"No. He wanted to remarry me. He said that he could regard the child as his own child."
Hilla was surprised.
She couldn’t understand. When Halle married Titus in the past, the Tyson family looked down upon her. And Titus didn’t even sleep with Halle.
Now they divorced and Halle had someone else’s child. Titus actually wanted to raise the child. Was he insane?
Was he too silly?
Hilla thought of true love and then shocked herself.
It couldn’t be true that Titus found himself fall in love with Halle after the divorce and was regretful. And seeing that Halle had someone else’s child, he was overwhelmed by jealousy.
Hilla didn’t believe it.
Hilla asked, "Do you believe him, Halle?"
Halle lowered her head slightly and said, "He didn’t seem to be lying."
"No. You can marry anyone except him unless you tell me that the child was his."
Hilla looked directly at Halle’s face and asked. Halle hesitated for a moment and then shook her head.
When Halle met Titus last time in the hospital, Horton was also there. Halle was too nervous and said that the child was Titus’ in case Horton would pursue her.
But both Halle and Titus knew that the child wasn’t Titus’. They didn’t even make sex once in their five-year marriage.
Their marriage was in name only. Titus would humiliate Halle just because she got too close.
Halle always thought that she wasn’t good enough. She didn’t know how she went through the five years.
Titus didn’t like Halle, so she would never be good enough.
Hilla let out a sigh of relief after Halle denied it. It would be good if the child wasn’t Titus’, or she would feel unhappy to raise his child.
"You told me that you didn’t want to get married again. I support you. If you can’t find your Mr. Right, I will be with you and the baby all the time."
It was better for Halle to be single than to marry Titus again.
Halle smiled. She looked much better.
Holding Hilla’s hand, Halle said with a smile, "Don’t worry. I had a hard time
divorcing. I won’t remarry to Titus."
"Then I’m relieved. I’m afraid that you will remarry to him for the sake of the child."
Fortunately, Halle always said that she would take care of the child herself and she didn’t even want to ask Horton for help.
Horton is much better than Titus. Instead of Titus, Hilla was more willing to set Horton and Halle together.
"I’m not that stupid. I just didn’t expect to meet Titus in the hospital. He said that he was waiting for me there. I was worried."
Halle looked nervously at her belly. She knew that she was about to give birth and she didn’t want to meet him again.
Halle did not want to give birth early. It was harmful to the baby.
But Titus shocked her. Did he want to drag her away?
"Next time, I will go to the hospital with you. I will always stay by your side. If Titus comes again, I will beat him and warn him not to get close."
Halle was amused by her fierce look, "I know you are fierce and powerful. Then life will be hard for Bruce. He will suffer a lot."
"That’s not right. I am fair. If he doesn’t like it, we can have a fight. We will listen to whoever wins."
Knowing that Bruce wouldn’t beat her, Hilla was particularly arrogant.
Horton and Bruce were outside. Horton adjusted the glasses on his face and looked at Bruce with a smile, "Is it true?"
Bruce nodded seriously. He had never lost when they were in bed.
...
Horton was holding the food he just cooked outside. He didn’t go into the room.
"Halle is so gentle and kind, but Hilla is forcible and powerful. If it weren’t for their look, I couldn’t tell that they are sisters."
"Hilla is cute!"
Bruce praised his wife seriously. Horton sneered. It was obvious that Halle was more loveable.
Although Horton didn’t agree with Bruce, he did not refute. He took the food to Bruce and said, "Please bring it in for me. Halle was frightened today. If Hilla sees me, she will definitely blame me."
Horton was afraid that Halle would hate him even more because of this.
Bruce glanced at the tray coldly and said indifferently, "No."
He knocked on the door before Horton could react.
Hilla knew that Halle was frightened and hadn’t had anything. She quickly opened the door and was surprised to see Horton and Bruce.
What happened?
"Halle hasn’t eaten for a day. I made some gruel. Let her have some gruel first."
Horton reacted first and entered the room before Hilla got angry.
Since Hilla opened the door, so there was no need for him to hide.
Halle looked up at Horton gratefully. There seemed to be something else shining in her eyes.
"Thank you."
Halle said it in a low voice. Horton was stunned. He looked at Halle, who looked down and seemed to be shy and became excited.
Halle didn’t seem to dislike him that much.
"Have a try. If they don’t taste good, I’ll go and cook again."
Horton sat by the bed and kept putting the dishes into Halle’s bowl.
Halle was a little flattered and could only thank him repeatedly.
"Horton, did you only make dinner for Halle?"
Halle was eating very well and didn’t feel uncomfortable. Ever since Halle was pregnant, she always praised Horton for his cooking. So Hilla thought that Horton must be good at cooking.
This was also the reason why Hilla didn’t ask Horton to leave even if he came
repeatedly.
Halle liked it and her child also liked it. Hilla was happy about that.
"Haven’t you already had dinner? If not, there are still some leftovers in the kitchen."
Horton replied without looking back. If it wasn’t for Halle, Hilla would kick him.
Bruce raised his eyebrow and took Hilla out.
Hilla turned to look at Bruce, but before she could say anything, Bruce said first, "Halle’s ex-husband wants to remarry her."
Bruce actually knew about it. It must be Horton who told him.
Hilla nodded, "Yes, but Halle won’t marry Titus again."
Bruce nodded slightly. He turned back, looked at the door, and said, "Horton is also quite poor."
He was still pursuing Halle, but Titus wanted to remarry her. Even if there was no love between them, they were still connected. After all, they had been a couple for five years.
"Can you see that Horton likes Halle?"
Hilla was surprised, as if it was a secret that Horton liked Halle.
Then she complained, "We can see it. Why can’t Halle?"
Every time Hilla mentioned Horton, Halle would reject without hesitation.
Bruce replied indifferently, "It’s not that Halle doesn’t know, but that she doesn’t want to know."
Hilla was a little startled. Seeing Bruce approaching her, she stood on her tiptoe.
Hilla stared at Bruce’s chin and said in a low voice, "Bruce, you look like a cunning fox."
Bruce looked down at Hilla’s face. Hilla was startled. Before she could retreat, Bruce held her in his arms.
Bruce lowered his head and smiled. He looked evil but charming, "How do you praise me? A fox is cunning, but a wolf is fierce."
Hilla was picked up horizontally. She was shocked and hugged Bruce’s neck. She whispered nervously, "What are you doing? Horton is still here."
"His focus is on Halle. No one will disturb us."
Bruce shut the door.
Halle and Horton were stunned at the noise. Then Halle realized quickly what was going on and she blushed.
She looked down and whispered, "It’s late. I’ve troubled Dr. Hutt too much today.
You should go back and rest early."
"It’s fine. It’s still early now."
Horton didn’t realize what was going on and answered.
Halle avoided his food and said with a faint smile, "It’s late, Dr. Hutt. It’s not good to stay with a divorced woman."
"Then shall I ask Hilla to come and accompany you?"
"No, there’s no need. I’m tired and want to have a rest. Hilla and Bruce just returned from the old mansion. It is better not to disturb them."
Horton did not believe it.
"Take care, Dr. Hutt. I want to rest now."
Halle was driving him away, so Horton had to go.
"If you are not feeling well, you can call Hilla. If Hilla can’t hear you, you can call me. My phone is on 24 hours a day."
Halle smiled and said gratefully, "Thank you!"
Horton left Halle’s room, but he was still a little worried. He turned around and walked towards Bruce’s room. He knocked on the door and said, "Bruce, I’m leaving. Halle suffered a fright today. Remember to take care of her and let Hilla accompany her."
"Can you hear me? Give me a response. Halle can give birth at any time and she can’t be alone."
It was silent for a moment. Then the door suddenly opened. It was Bruce. He was naked and there was only a towel wrapped around his waist. He looked at Horton angrily.
"Have you finished? Then get out of here!"
Horton suddenly realized what was going on. He coughed awkwardly.
"I’m very sorry. I didn’t know you were ... Sorry for disturbing you!"
"Then hurry up and go away!"
"I’ll go. By the way, Halle ... I think I should go!"
Horton quickly left without looking back. But he was worried whether Halle could take a good rest here. Bruce and Hilla were intemperate. Maybe he should think of a way to stop Bruce.
However, he gave up. Bruce looked quite scary when he was needy.
...
Hilla sat on the bed in a suit, her hair messy and her lips swollen.
Seeing that Bruce was coming to her again, Hilla hurriedly stopped him and said, "Enough. We’ve been interrupted. Don’t force yourself."
Bruce was speechless. He just wanted to be intimate with Hilla.
"I haven’t finished. How can you stop me halfway?"
Bruce went straight to the bed and hugged Hilla in his arms. He also kissed her cheeks, ears, and neck.
Hilla sighed and calmed herself down. She pushed Bruce away, in case he would flirt with her again.
Hilla pouted and said in a low voice, "I owe you this time, but Halle got shocked today. Horton was right. I shouldn’t leave her alone in the room while we are making sex here. I will feel guilty."
Halle and her child were stable and she would soon give birth. But if something happened at night, Hilla would not know.
"I want to sleep with Halle every night before she gives birth."
Instead of sleeping with Bruce, Hilla wanted to sleep in Halle’s room. Bruce started to worry about this long ago and the day came.
"There is still a month before Halle gives birth. You want to leave me alone in the room for a month?"
Hilla also felt sorry. Seeing that Bruce was quite aggrieved, she comforted him, "You are strong and healthy. It doesn’t matter if you fall off the bed at night. But Halle is different. It was too dangerous."
Bruce rubbed his forehead. Compared to the baby, he wasn’t as important. He said, "Stay with me for two hours before going to bed every night."
Bruce made a compromise. Hilla gritted his teeth and said, "Not every day. Halle wasn’t asleep at that time. And two hours is too long. I will be worried about Halle."
Because of Titus, Hilla decided that she would get rid of every danger close to Halle. "Then you can come once every day. Two hours each time."
"Two times a week and one hour a time. Don’t be so cheesy. You’re a man. You won’t die if we make sex less. Halle is of the most importance. That’s the deal."
Hilla didn’t give Bruce any chance to object. She kissed Bruce and he was stopped from bargaining.
Bruce’s eyes darkened. He kissed back forcefully.
Looking at her swollen lips, Hilla let out a sigh. Then she took a shower quickly and
entered Halle’s room.
"Why are you here?"
Halle was shocked by Hilla. Halle turned on the light and saw Hilla. She couldn’t help laughing.
"Bruce didn’t want you to come. Why do you still come here?"
"He did. Why haven’t you slept yet, Halle?"
Hilla lay down again and Halle turned off the light. They could have a talk in the darkness.
"I can’t fall asleep. Is it okay that you come and accompany me?"
"Of course. You are my sister. And from now on till you give birth, I will stay close to you and never leave you even when you sleep."
Hilla hugged Halle’s arm and rubbed Halle’s shoulder with her head, just like when they were young and she asked Halle for sweets.
In the darkness, Halle smiled happily.
This time, Halle didn’t refuse Hilla to sleep with her, because she knew that she was getting troublesome and needed to be taken care of.
She knew that she could not withstand any accident.
"Are you quite scared today, Halle?"
Hilla felt that Halle’s hands were still cold. Although they were not as cold as before, she could feel that Halle was still nervous.
Halle said slowly, "I’m not very afraid. I’m just thinking if he would hurt the baby if I were to be dragged away."
She began to understand the feelings as a mother.
She was not afraid of being hurt but of hurting the baby.
"Is it happy to be a mother, Halle?"
"Yes, I’ve never been so satisfied."
To Halle, no matter who the father was, this was just her child.
Hilla turned over under the quilt and put her arm on the pillow. She couldn’t see Halle clearly and whispered, "I saw Bruce’s grandfather today. He didn’t say anything, but I could feel from his eyes that he was expecting something."
"I feel a little sad. Should I have a baby too?"
Hilla was both surprised and delighted at the thought to have a baby with Bruce. It seemed that she wasn’t as annoyed and afraid as she had thought.
"Is it because you want a child or the Anderson family forced you to have one? Don’t
do anything you are not sure about."
Hilla rubbed her head against the pillow and then raised her head. "I don’t know. I don’t hate babies. Nor do I hate the Anderson family. I just feel that I am still young. I am a little afraid that I cannot take care of a baby."
It was a baby, not grass or a flower. She had to be responsible for it. Hilla was not sure if he would be a mother.
Halle held Hilla’s hand and said determinedly, "I’m also a little afraid. I’m afraid whether he will blame me for not giving him a complete family. There were a lot of uncertainties in our life. Don’t miss what you have now because of these uncertainties."
Hearing Halle’s words, Hilla calmed down. Hilla reached into the quilt and touch Halle’s belly. She muttered, "Then I’ll wait and see if he’s obedient or not. Then I’ll decide whether I will have a baby myself."
Halle laughed, "Every child is different."
Although Halle and Hilla were sisters, they had completely different personalities and lived different lives.
"I don’t care. I am his aunt. If he doesn’t listen to me, I will spank him."
They chatted and laughed. Halle quickly forgot what happened during the day. When she was about to fall asleep, Hilla said, "After you give birth, I want a baby too, who must be much prettier than Bruce."
Halle chuckled. She knew that Hilla was kind. Hilla couldn’t bear to see others suffer and she wouldn’t make things difficult for herself. And she could understand things earlier than others.
Halle envied Hilla a lot. Why couldn’t she figure out something?
