Chapter 73 The Mnemosyne's Request

Tyche's mind sparked. Since Pontus had countered her by proposing that two goddesses share the position of primary deity, she decided to add fuel to his fire as a retort.

The goddess smiled playfully, "This grand spectacle will not conclude according to your will."

Tyche, with great enthusiasm, sent Iris on another trip to the heavens to deliver the news to the Starry Night Goddess. She imagined the bored Astraea would be quite pleased to witness some drama. The two goddesses could meet on Mount Olympus, and such an amusing event was best enjoyed with a friend.

Iris, not failing her mistress, returned with the news that Astraea would indeed attend.

Kannas and Zeus exchanged glances, unaware of their mother's latest scheme, and curiously prepared to accompany her.

Tyche, fully prepared and spirited, set off for Mount Olympus with her son and attendant deities.

Driven by their mistress's eagerness, the white falcons flew with exceptional speed, arriving in the blink of an eye at the radiant Mount Othrys.

Mount Olympus had never been so lively. At the primary deities' request, attendants constructed a spacious platform. The protagonist of the story stood proudly amidst white roses, adorned in a dress of intricate red fabric, layered several times, with a petal-like skirt cascading down.

Yet, this red dress clung to the Love Goddess's alluring body, accentuating her graceful curves, making her appear even more captivating against the backdrop of white roses.

For a moment, Tyche wanted to cover her and Kannas's eyes, exerting all her strength to turn away from the Love Goddess, who seemed displayed like a vase for exhibition.

After all, Aphrodite still held the title of Sea Goddess. This was practically a disgrace to the reputation of all sea deities.

The leader of the Oceanid nymphs had never been so grateful for Pontus's presence. The daughters of the Sea God could use the excuse of not being of the same origin to evade the gods' gossip and ridicule.

Pushing her curious eldest son forward, the expressionless Zeus followed his mother into the temple as if nothing were amiss, not even glancing at the alluring Aphrodite. This filled Tyche with a sense of accomplishment. Look, Zeus, who would have been a playboy, was now indifferent to beautiful women due to my upbringing! Accompanying this sense of accomplishment was the relief of a doting mother. If this child could maintain such integrity, how many troubles could be avoided!

As the various primary deities arrived, Tyche observed the expression of the Memory Goddess, only to find Mnemosyne as impassive as a sculpture. The Titans also appeared indifferent, awaiting the unfolding of this farce.

Pontus approached his nominal daughter, using various words to stir the emotions of the gods. The Love Goddess's eyes were hazy, as if enjoying the fervent gazes of the deities, or perhaps lost in a trance of confusion, her soul detached from her body, appearing vacant and indifferent.

The late-arriving Astraea and her husband took their places beside their parents. Tyche was surprised by the arrival of the three brothers born to Eurynome and Crius. Perseus had already fathered Hecate with Astraea and naturally would not participate in this farce. The Starry Night God Astraeus and the God of Slaughter Pallas, however, had entered. Did their father, the primary deity Crius, not intervene?

Kannas still remembered Pallas's offense towards his mother. Although Tyche had already punished the god, who had lost himself in his nature, by turning him into prey, the carefree Kannas still preferred not to look at him.

Tyche herself had let go of her resentment. For the sake of Astraea and Eurynome, she politely greeted the two deities.

"Lord Pallas, it seems you have successfully obtained the divine office of the wild."

The God of Slaughter's eyes no longer held madness or ferocity. Pallas smiled calmly, "Thank you for your assistance, Lady Tyche."

"Please also accept my belated apology." Pallas's beast-like yellow pupils now held only peace.

Tyche nodded without speaking, her gaze drifting towards Astraea, who was watching the spectacle. The Starry Night Goddess then approached her friend with a giggle and whispered, "Respected Goddess of Fate, fate has guided Pallas to meet you. Would you consider accepting fate's arrangement and getting to know him better?"

Tyche was accustomed to the Starry Night Goddess's way of speaking. Her friend was constantly seeking opportunities to persuade her to let down her guard and embrace love.

The goddess naturally knew what she should do. Tyche looked at Aphrodite, who was still in a daze, and said, "I don't want to get involved in disputes. The Love Goddess's precedent is right before our eyes."

Astraea's attention was immediately diverted by her friend with the new topic. The Starry Night Goddess frowned, clearly unaccustomed to the situation before her.

"Didn't Pontus claim to be Aphrodite's father? Why would he allow his daughter to fall into such a humiliating position?"

Tyche's reply was pregnant with meaning, "Perhaps for him, even the most precious things have a price. How sincere his affection for this daughter is remains unknown."

The Starry Night Goddess pouted disdainfully and whispered, "What are you planning to do?"

"Of course, I'm going to add a few more logs to the fire they've ignited," Tyche said with a mischievous smile.

Satisfied, Astraea went to her mother's side, preparing to watch a grand show. She occasionally leaned over to her sister Leto and whispered something. The sisters' giggles immediately ceased when the King and Queen of the Gods entered.

Tyche played with the translucent green emerald in her hand, boredly awaiting Pontus's appearance.

Under the expectant gaze of the gods, the primordial sea god ascended the high platform to explain the rules of the competition.

Tyche impatiently put down the gem in her hand and muttered, "It's just a martial contest for marriage, why all the fuss?"

Unlike Tyche and the others who were waiting to watch the show, the stiff-faced Memory Goddess couldn't help but approach Tyche. "Lady Tyche, thank you for your previous intervention."

Tyche, understanding, signaled her sons to step aside and said softly, "It was my duty. As I said, I was considering the overall situation. Maintaining the stability of the primary deity position is most important. The Love Goddess is utterly incapable of undertaking such a solemn responsibility."

After speaking, she gestured for Mnemosyne to look at the Love Goddess on the platform. "Her superficiality and ignorance further solidify my belief that I did the right thing."

The Memory Goddess, who had been enduring for a long time, no longer hesitated and revealed her intention, "I hope to receive your help again." httpδ:/m.kuAisugg.nět

"I sympathize with your predicament, Lady Mnemosyne," Tyche remained unmoved. "But there is nothing more I can do. I am truly sorry, but I am powerless."

The Memory Goddess's gaze shifted to Zeus and Kannas, who had joined their maternal grandfather. The Great Sea God Oceanus was affectionately introducing the present deities to his grandsons. This eldest brother among the Titans had extensive connections and could converse with anyone with a smile, while also promoting his two grandsons and creating opportunities for them to showcase themselves.
