Fu Jingshu's orderly heartbeat suddenly became erratic. His hand loosened, and the letter he was holding dropped to the ground, scattering hundred-yuan bills everywhere.
The butler behind him stared in disbelief.
Miss Shen was trying to distance herself!
He dared not look at his master's expression for a moment, but even without looking, he felt as if a cold air was surrounding him. This chilling aura emanated from Fu Jingshu.
The butler broke out in a cold sweat, not daring to breathe.
Shen Qingqing sent the two children home and went to Shen's Group alone.
The receptionist at Shen's Group naturally tried to stop her. Shen Qingqing then called Shen Zhizhong. Before she could even speak, Shen Zhizhong said, "Go back, I don't want to see you right now."
He hung up the phone.
Shen Qingqing stared at her phone, her lips twitching into a smile that held no mirth.
She slowly turned her head to look at the LED screen in the lobby.
Within half an hour, Shen's Group was in chaos. Shen Zhizhong received a call from the front desk downstairs. Her voice was filled with panic, "Mr. Shen, something's wrong, hurry down and see!"
Shen Zhizhong sensed something was amiss from her tone. Without asking further questions, he rushed out of his office with his phone. As soon as he reached the lobby, he was stunned.
On the large LED screen, a document was being displayed. The content was explosive, detailing his various violations within the company.
Every single point was something he had done.
Shen Zhizhong was dumbfounded upon seeing it, completely unable to process what was happening. He had no idea who was behind this. Most importantly, every point listed was a fact, and he felt guilty, unable to retort with a clear conscience.
He could only ask with trembling hands, "Who, who did this?"
All the staff in the lobby gathered around. Soon, a crowd had formed in front of the screen, and everyone was looking at him with peculiar expressions.
Shen Zhizhong felt a chill run down his spine, sweat beading on his forehead. He shouted at the staff, "Where are you all? Turn off the screen quickly!"
But the more agitated he became, the more the crowd suspected something was amiss. If one had nothing to hide, they wouldn't become so enraged.
Shen Zhizhong shouted for a long time, but no staff member came to change the screen. He could only watch helplessly as the screen played evidence page after page.
It detailed the process of his violations, the evidence, and specific times. It even included how he had bribed superiors and officials to cover things up afterward.
Shen Zhizhong's face lost all color, his mind went blank. He couldn't recall who would want to deal with him this way, let alone gather so much evidence in secret.
What was this person trying to achieve?!
As he was lost in thought, he suddenly heard a familiar voice.
"Father, the evidence is conclusive. How do you plan to handle this matter?"
Shen Zhizhong spun around abruptly and saw Shen Qingqing emerging from the crowd. In a flash, he understood everything. "You got this stuff!"
Shen Qingqing admitted directly, "Yes."
Shen Zhizhong clenched his fists. "Shen Qingqing, are you crazy? How could you do this? You're going to ruin my company!"
"I'm not trying to ruin the company; I just think you are no longer fit to manage it," Shen Qingqing said with a chilling tone. "This evidence is enough for me to sue you. You understand the consequences you will face without me needing to say it."
"You're threatening me," Shen Zhizhong gritted out, his eyes bloodshot.
"I'm simply stating a fact," Shen Qingqing said calmly.
Shen Zhizhong was almost driven mad, gritting his teeth so hard he could taste blood. "I knew it, I knew you harbored resentment when you came back, and you'd torment me."
Shen Qingqing made no reply. She proceeded to call the shareholders in front of him. The incident had escalated too quickly, and someone in the company had already tipped off the shareholders. Two had already arrived after she hung up the phone.
The remaining few arrived one after another.
Shen Qingqing asked the company employees to disperse, and then she went to the conference room with the shareholders.
The shareholders, reading through the twenty-five pages of evidence from beginning to end, had varying expressions on their faces.
But without exception, their eyes were filled with anger.
Shen Zhizhong still tried to explain, "She always hated me. Doing this is just to drive me out. Don't believe her!"
But with the evidence laid bare, how could the shareholders believe him over the facts?
When Shen Qingqing proposed, "My father has done so much and violated company regulations. He should be punished and provide compensation, and apologize in front of all the company's employees."
Compensation and punishment were not difficult matters, but an apology was not so easily accomplished. Once he apologized in front of everyone, it would signify his admission of guilt.
Then he would no longer be able to hold the position of Mr. Shen.
Shen Zhizhong's face turned pale. "I cannot apologize."
Shen Qingqing said slowly, "Apologizing is also acceptable. Then your position in the company will be revoked, and your current position will naturally go to the most capable."
However, with the evidence being conclusive, the shareholders, despite their own agendas, had no choice but to side with the facts and could not favor Shen Zhizhong.
"I agree."
"I agree too."
Everyone expressed their agreement. Shen Zhizhong sat in the meeting room surrounded by people, but he felt isolated and powerless. No one gave him a chance to explain. Since they had decided to dismiss him, they immediately notified the HR department.
By the time Shen Zhizhong realized what was happening, he was being pushed into his office to pack his belongings and leave.
His departure was as pathetic as his position had been glorious.
With the president gone, the shareholders naturally needed to elect a new person for the position. As they were arguing amongst themselves, Shen Qingqing stepped forward.
"As the daughter of the former Mr. Shen and having found the evidence this time, I believe I am qualified for this position."
Strangely, she showed no emotion, and her tone was calm, yet she exuded an overwhelming pressure that made it inexplicably difficult to refute her.
The shareholders exchanged glances, pondering that it was perhaps due to her decisive and ruthless methods, not hesitating to act against her own father.
Such resolve and skill certainly warranted the position.
Director Wang was the first to speak, "I agree for Young Miss Shen to take over Mr. Shen's position."
The others inwardly cursed this old fox, who always seemed to be the first to change his allegiance when the wind shifted, always rushing to express his stance before anyone else.
To curry favor with Shen Qingqing, one person after another agreed. Regardless of their inner thoughts, on the surface, they all treated Shen Qingqing with a cordial smile and admiration.
After Shen Zhizhong was driven out, he returned home. However, the more he thought about it, the more resentful he became. Shen's Group was something he had built up bit by bit, and now he had lost it because of Shen Qingqing.
Thus, he sought out someone.
At a window seat in a coffee shop, Lin Minglan looked at Shen Zhizhong, who appeared somewhat disheveled and tired across from her. "Uncle Shen, I truly didn't expect you to call me."
"I know you don't like my daughter," Shen Zhizhong said, having no intention for pleasantries at the moment. "I don't like this unfilial daughter either. How about we cooperate?"
