Chapter 424 Can't Stand It Anymore?

“Can’t take it anymore?” Shen Qingqing suppressed a laugh.

Fu Jingshu raised an eyebrow. “What?”

“Your son has even more bizarre and strange things in his possession.” Shen Qingqing thought of those peculiar names and couldn’t help but want to laugh. “You’ll know when you have the chance later.”

Fu Jingshu remained composed. “It’s alright, my son is naturally amazing.”

“Narcissistic!” Shen Qingqing muttered under her breath.

Just then, footsteps echoed from the end of the corridor. The two quickly grabbed the two bodyguards on the ground and hid in a corner, overhearing a conversation.

“Where did these two go? Why aren’t they guarding here?”

“Probably went to the restroom.”

“You can’t both go to the restroom at the same time. If the boss sees no one at the door, he’ll punish them.”

The voices faded as the two walked further away.

Shen Qingqing peeked from the corner and whispered, “It seems ‘Z’ isn’t in the room.” If he were, these two would surely be guarding the door instead of turning to leave.

While she was contemplating, Fu Jingshu had already tied the two men up with nylon rope. She glanced back at the secure knot. “Not bad.” She gave Fu Jingshu a thumbs-up. “Looks like you have a knack for murder and arson too.”

“Murder? Arson?” Fu Jingshu paused, his gaze complex. “Can’t you lead me in doing something good for a change?”

Shen Qingqing chuckled. “No way. Do you know what ‘a wife sings, and the husband follows’ means?”

Fu Jingshu’s lips moved slightly. “Alright.”

After the jest, they arrived at the bedroom door. Shen Qingqing tried to push it, and surprisingly, the door wasn’t locked. This was odd. Given Mr. Z’s caution, even with guards at the door, he would have locked the room, assuming there was something inside worth protecting. She hesitated for a second at the door before stepping in. Fu Jingshu followed close behind.

The bedroom was elegantly decorated with simple furnishings, all appearing new. The room was spotlessly clean, the quilt and sheets on the bed perfectly smooth. It didn’t look like anyone had lived there.

Shen Qingqing grabbed Fu Jingshu’s wrist. “Let’s go!”

But as they reached the doorway, the sound of the door being locked echoed from outside. “This is bad.” If Shen Qingqing didn’t realize they had walked into a trap now, she would truly be an idiot.

Mr. Z’s voice sounded from outside the door. “Master Fu, you’ve come all this way, why didn’t you say hello?”

There was silence from the room. Mr. Z continued, “I see you don’t seem to have any intention of staying to talk with me. That won’t do. You are my esteemed guest. Since you’re here, you might as well stay for a night.” He glanced at the lock on the door, a lock he had paid a fortune for, known for its security and difficulty to pick. “Miss Shen, this lock is specially prepared for you. I heard you have a talent for unlocking things, so today, let me see how you unravel this lock.”

The room remained silent. Shen Qingqing wasn’t stupid. They were both disguised. As long as they didn’t speak, their identities could never be revealed. It was one thing for the other party to recognize them, but it was another matter whether they admitted it. As long as they could leave here before their faces were exposed, Mr. Z would be powerless.

“It seems you two don’t wish to chat with me,” Mr. Z sighed, a hint of disappointment in his voice. “I thought you came to have a heart-to-heart with me. It seems I was being overly sentimental.”

Heart-to-heart… Shen Qingqing’s gaze swept around the room as she rolled her eyes to the heavens. What good could she possibly have to talk about with him? If he hadn’t hidden the antidote, she would have already turned on him.

Soon, her eyes fixed on the window. The two looked out from the window and saw no one guarding below. Fu Jingshu chuckled lightly. “Still foolish.”

Shen Qingqing, however, understood the other party’s thinking. “At this height, he’s probably certain we can’t get down.” The window was nearly three meters from the ground. Without professional equipment, it was impossible to descend at such a height unless one was willing to break their legs. “But he’s truly underestimated me.” Shen Qingqing sneered. “Since I’ve come, I naturally have a way to leave here.”

Outside the door, someone said, “Sir, do we really not need to have someone watch under the window? What if they actually manage to get down safely?”

“Firstly, they won’t be able to get down,” Mr. Z said slowly and unhurriedly. “Secondly, even if they did, they wouldn’t be able to get out of this villa.” He had already set up traps on their inevitable escape route. All that was left was for them to walk into the net.

“Sir is indeed wise.” Under their sir’s brilliant and perfect plan, no one could escape, not even the renowned Master Fu from the country. They probably… wouldn’t be able to escape.

About half an hour later, a man ran in in a panic. “Bad news, sir, those two really escaped through the window.”

Mr. Z raised an eyebrow. “How did they get down?” He had already had people check the area between the window and the ground for any obstacles, removing anything that could help them descend, leaving only the smooth wall. Even the sheets and duvet covers in the room were made of fragile material, insufficient to support a weight exceeding fifty kilograms. “We don’t know. We only know that observers from a distance saw something reflective descend from upstairs, followed by two figures landing on the ground.”

Something reflective? Mr. Z narrowed his eyes slightly, turned abruptly, and walked towards the door, several bodyguards quickly following. The group arrived under the window but found nothing unusual. It was likely that the so-called reflective object had already been taken away by Shen Qingqing. “Where did the people go?” “Along the route you predicted.”

Mr. Z chuckled, then turned and took a small path. The villa’s garden had been meticulously arranged. Although each path seemed to lead everywhere, there was only one route that actually led to the entrance. He walked unhurriedly through the maze, confident that the two would be unable to get out. Soon, someone ran up in a hurry. Mr. Z smiled; he must have caught the two with his subordinates.

“Sir, they escaped!” Mr. Z’s smile froze. “What did you say?” The man, with a crestfallen face, said, “At first, we followed your orders and didn’t pay them any mind. Then we realized these two seemed very familiar with the routes here…” By the time they reacted to intercept, the two had already successfully exited the gate. It wasn’t that no one gave chase, but they were no match for the two.

“Go after them!” Mr. Z gritted his teeth. “They’ve gone, they’ve gone! We’ve already sent people,” the man said immediately, wiping the sweat from his forehead. “But there’s been no news back yet. I’m afraid…” they had lost them.

Mr. Z raised his hand and slapped him. His expression was blank, but his pressure was immense. “Useless! What are you people for if not to keep an eye on them?” The man, having been hit, dared not resist, nor did he dare show the slightest displeasure, keeping his head bowed in extreme humility. “Your subordinate knows his mistake.”
