"What secret?"
"I discovered that the Feng family has an attic that is guarded, with food delivered at regular intervals, and no one is allowed near it." King hadn't been idle these past two days.
The moment he found the attic, he tried to investigate, but there were many guards, and the attic was secured tightly.
It was difficult to get close.
"So, I want you to go with me."
If someone could help distract the guards, he could sneak in and explore.
Shen Qingqing was also quite curious about the attic. "Okay, then tonight at eight o'clock. For now, let's go down to eat. After all, Chairman Feng has prepared a sumptuous lunch for us."
King, busy these past few days, hadn't known what had happened. "Your tone doesn't sound right."
Shen Qingqing simply recounted what had happened these past two days.
King snorted, "I knew that woman wouldn't be quiet. She was bound to cause trouble sooner or later. Are you alright? Did you suffer any loss?"
His gaze scanned Shen Qingqing all over.
Shen Qingqing shook her head, "I'm fine. Her capabilities are not enough to make me suffer any loss."
"That's good."
King looked at Fu Jingshu with barely concealed impatience. Ever since he had started asking with concern, the other party had been staring at him with cold eyes, as if he had said something terribly wrong.
"That's enough. I can't even care about my junior disciple anymore?"
Fu Jingshu subtly drew his wife closer, his expression seemingly casual but filled with possessiveness. "My wife is my concern."
King didn't bother to argue with him. "As you wish. I'm going down to eat."
The three of them went downstairs to find Chairman Feng had already set up a table full of dishes, a balanced combination of meat and vegetables, with soup and rice, very abundant. He hospitably invited them.
"Sit down quickly, I specially asked the servants to cook what you like."
However, Shen Qingqing soon realized they weren't the only ones at the table. Feng Yilian and Fan Hang were also there. Feng Yilian, as the protagonist of the apology today, had not even sat down before Chairman Feng tugged at her.
"Apologize to Mrs. Fu."
Feng Yilian was naturally unwilling, but Chairman Feng glared at her sternly, "Hurry up!"
She ultimately dared not defy her father and reluctantly said, "I'm sorry."
Her voice was light and airy, as if spoken from the back of her throat, completely insincere. Chairman Feng looked at Shen Qingqing with embarrassment, but unexpectedly, she didn't press the issue.
"Since you've apologized, then it's forgotten. I'm magnanimous and won't hold it against you."
Although Chairman Feng was puzzled, it was always good that the other party didn't pursue it. He then acted as a peacemaker. "Then this matter is over. Everyone, please sit down."
After sitting down, Shen Qingqing's gaze fell on Fan Hang across from her.
Ever since he came down, he had kept his distance from Feng Yilian and didn't look at her. His face wore an expression of boredom, as if he was uninterested in anything.
Especially when Feng Yilian sat beside him, his face immediately soured.
Shen Qingqing discreetly withdrew her gaze and focused on eating.
After the meal, Fan Hang was the first to get up and leave. Chairman Feng frowned but said nothing, after all, he had handled the matter poorly.
Shen Qingqing gave King and Fu Jingshu a look. "Let's go for a stroll on the street."
Fu Jingshu and King had no objections.
Chairman Feng held Feng Yilian back and said in a low voice, "From now on, you are not allowed to cause any more trouble. Listen to me and stay at home obediently."
"Daddy, what about my reputation..."
"Don't worry, I've handled everything." Chairman Feng stroked her hair, his face full of smiles and affection. "You are my precious pearl. I will protect you no matter what."
He was clearly a loving father, yet Feng Yilian felt a chill in her heart. She forced a smile, "Okay, thank you, Daddy."
The three of them left the Feng residence. Shen Qingqing walked beside King. "You go and interact with Fan Hang. I feel that he is different from Chairman Feng."
His penchant for beauty was real, but he was not a bad person.
Although they had an engagement, it was obvious that Fan Hang and Feng Yilian were still different.
King nodded slightly. "Alright."
They said they were going shopping, but it was actually just an excuse given in front of Chairman Feng. The three of them didn't intend to go shopping and only walked for a while before preparing to return.
Upon returning to the Feng residence, they didn't see Chairman Feng, his wife, or Fan Hang, and the three of them went directly back to their rooms.
Time passed slowly. As the sun began to set, Shen Qingqing went downstairs for dinner and found only Chairman Feng. Feng Yilian and Fan Hang were nowhere to be seen.
She gave King a look and didn't ask any more questions. After dinner, she went back upstairs.
As night fell, three figures emerged from the second-floor bedrooms and silently made their way to the backyard, successfully reaching the attic in the southeast corner of the villa's garden.
In front of this attic was a small fountain, its water flowing gently, creating a picturesque scene.
The attic was guarded, with eyes scanning their surroundings. Along a path in front of the attic, four people patrolled in turns.
There was no opportunity to get close to the attic.
The three hid in a patch of grass. King nudged his chin. "See, the guards are very strict. I can't get in alone."
Shen Qingqing looked at Fu Jingshu, and they exchanged a glance.
Soon after, Fu Jingshu quietly departed.
A moment later, the guards on duty shouted, "Who's there?"
There was no answer, only a figure flashed by. The guards exchanged glances and sent two people to investigate, leaving two to patrol and two to guard the spot.
But those two didn't return for a long time, and the guards became a little worried, so they sent another two.
Now only two were left.
The night was cool. The two guards looked around vigilantly but didn't notice two dark figures appearing silently behind them. The two figures moved slowly but uniformly raised their hands.
The two guards only felt a sharp pain in their necks before passing out.
Fu Jingshu also returned at this moment, saying, "I've shaken them off, but we don't have much time. They'll come back as soon as they realize something is wrong."
"Then let's go in now."
The attic door was locked, an electronic lock.
Shen Qingqing took out her phone, fiddled with it for a while, and then tried to enter the password. She entered it incorrectly twice. Before entering it a third time, she thought for a moment and then pressed the keys.
This time, the door opened successfully.
The three entered and closed the door behind them.
Inside the attic was a living room, very empty, with only a simple sofa, coffee table, and dining table. The furniture gleamed with cleanliness, appearing cold and impersonal.
The three only glanced around and then headed upstairs.
Upon reaching the top of the stairs, it became even quieter. Apart from the sound of their footsteps on the stairs, there was nothing else. The empty living room made one's back feel inexplicably cold.
There were four bedrooms in the corridor, one of which was locked.
Shen Qingqing walked to the door and looked at the lock. It was a very old-fashioned padlock that could be opened with a hairpin, looking out of place compared to the electronic lock at the entrance.
"This is too easy."
She opened the lock with her black hairpin in a few moves, restored the hairpin, and put it back on her head.
King gave her a thumbs-up. "You haven't forgotten the skills I taught you."
He said this and pushed open the door, revealing the scene inside.
The room was furnished simply, with only a large bed covered with a white sheet. There was a full-length mirror by the wall, and not even a dressing table.
The window was open, but there were railings outside.
This room looked like a prison.
And the prisoner in this prison was a thin, pale girl.
