Chapter 340 Reclaim Everything

Chris went to find the friend who had given him the ginseng. He first probed him verbally, but the other party was clueless. Chris had no choice but to reveal the truth. The friend became very agitated and insisted he didn't know the ginseng was poisoned.

Chris observed his expression and, seeing no signs of deceit, proceeded with an investigation.

His subordinates were efficient and the investigation concluded quickly. The ginseng was a gift from Director Feng, and it was rumored that he had obtained it through less than honorable means.

All the evidence pointed to Director Feng, yet they lacked crucial proof.

Chris trembled with rage. "That shameless man! He tried to win me over multiple times, but I ignored him. How dare he set his sights on my wife!"

Shen Qingqing was not surprised. "What's so strange about that? He's capable of anything."

Thinking of the two paternity test reports, she felt this matter still required further investigation.

"Uncle, I need to leave for a bit. I have something to attend to."

She turned and hurried away.

Chris quickly asked, "How is your aunt?"

"She's fine. She just needs to rest and recuperate."

Before he finished speaking, she had already disappeared through the doorway.

Chris sighed helplessly. Then, he remembered Director Feng and took out his phone to make a call. "I recall that the quality inspection for Feng Corporation hasn't been conducted yet. Send Sixth to do it."

After hanging up, he tossed his phone onto the coffee table and sneered.

He'll make him pay.

Shen Qingqing went out and bought a large bag of snacks before returning to visit Alang. Alang's room was the fourth room on the left side of the second floor. Pushing the door open, she saw Alang sitting by the bed, in the same posture as always.

"What are you thinking about?"

Shen Qingqing asked.

Alang turned her head at the sound of her voice and immediately spotted the snacks in her hands. She smiled slightly. "You're here."

Shen Qingqing had been visiting frequently lately, always bringing a lot of delicious food, from fried chicken to roasted chicken, from roasted chicken to cola and snacks. She felt she had gained a noticeable amount of weight from all the feeding.

Her smile had also become more frequent.

"I've brought you some goodies."

Shen Qingqing placed the bulging bag of snacks on the bedside table, opened it, and took out a large chicken leg. "Do you want some?"

Alang shook her head. "I just finished dinner, I'm not hungry."

"Then let's talk."

Shen Qingqing put down the chicken leg and sat next to her. They chatted aimlessly.

"Are you happy living here?"

"Very happy."

Her grandmother and aunt were both very kind to her. Alang had never imagined she could receive such warmth and kindness. She even wished she could stay here forever.

Though she knew she wasn't entirely at ease.

This was, after all, someone else's home, and she couldn't stay for long.

Shen Qingqing, however, said, "You can stay as long as you want. No one will ask you to leave."

Alang looked at her with surprise.

As if wondering how she could read her mind.

Shen Qingqing chuckled and pinched her small nose. "You know, your thoughts are always written on your face, making you very easy to read. However, there's one thing I must tell you: I might have to leave here in the future."

"You're leaving?"

Her expression suddenly turned crestfallen.

Shen Qingqing's gaze never left her, easily discerning her thoughts. She said gently, "Don't worry, I won't abandon you."

Alang's heart finally settled in her chest.

She had been confined to the attic since she was a child, never having considered where she would go or what she would do after leaving. Her sudden freedom left her feeling completely lost.

Her future seemed to have blurred into insignificance.

She knew that anywhere could be a place to stay, but not a place to truly belong. Therefore, even though she was doted on and cared for by her grandmother and aunt every day, she tossed and turned in bed at night.

Now, hearing those words, she finally understood that where the heart finds peace is home.

They chatted for a few more minutes. Shen Qingqing pondered how to bring up Director Feng's matter with her. Such an experience was too cruel for any girl.

She couldn't bear it.

Alang suddenly said, "You know everything?"

Shen Qingqing froze for a moment, then turned to look at her. Sunlight fell on Alang's profile, making her fair face seem to glow.

Perfectly otherworldly.

"She is also Father's daughter."

"Mm."

Alang sighed, without a hint of sadness. "I know that with your intelligence and capabilities, you'll surely find out."

"Tell me about what happened back then," Shen Qingqing said softly.

"What is there to talk about?"

Recalling the past, Alang's expression remained unchanged, as if those events held less importance in her heart than the person she constantly thought of.

Shen Qingqing held her hand, which was small and cold. "Why would he treat you like this?"

After all, Alang was also his daughter.

Alang looked down at her hand. In all these years since Ah Xu left, she hadn't felt warmth. She couldn't help but feel a sense of longing.

"I don't know. Maybe he doesn't like me."

After all, she was born with poison in her body, requiring careful nurturing. She couldn't even be betrothed, and might die at any moment.

"Didn't they develop an antidote?" Shen Qingqing asked.

"What of it," Alang's voice was somewhat ethereal. "My health is poor. Even if I'm cured, I'm still frail and unable to bear children..."

Marriage alliances were meant to combine the forces of two families.

But who would want a mistress who couldn't even have children?

Shen Qingqing fell silent.

However, she also knew that given Director Feng's personality, his daughters were almost certainly destined for arranged marriages. Perhaps if the group was thriving, it would be fine, but if they encountered even a minor setback.

He would resort to any means necessary.

"But even so, what is rightfully yours, you must take back."

Such as the identity of the eldest daughter of the Feng family.

Shen Qingqing tightened her grip on Alang's hand. "Although your mother has passed away, she was married to Director Feng. What belongs to her, belongs to you."

Alang looked at her with a hint of bewilderment. "Actually, I never thought..."

She had no interest in those things at all.

Shen Qingqing knew how to ignite her fighting spirit, which was undoubtedly related to that person. "If you possessed certain things, it would be much easier to find Ah Xu."

Alang's head shot up. "Really?"

"Of course!" Shen Qingqing asked, "When have I ever lied to you?"

Alang thought hard and realized she hadn't. Since they met, Shen Qingqing had always been kind to her, making her feel like she had gained a sister.

"Why are you so good to me?"

She couldn't help but ask.

Shen Qingqing smiled. "At first, I did want to get some information from you. But after learning about your background, I changed my mind."

"Do you think I'm not capable of helping you?"

"No."

She simply didn't want to exploit this pitiful and innocent girl.

The fingertips Alang held began to move slightly. "Thank you for making me feel warmth."

Shen Qingqing looked at her with pity. "Tell me, do you want to reclaim everything that belongs to you?"
