Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Idol’s Idol_1
"I’m a great admirer of yours!"
Logan’s words were like a bolt of Shocking Thunder, striking Specialist Guo squarely on the head.
"Nephew, help me up!" Specialist Guo’s hand fell onto Guo Haozhen’s shoulder.
He hadn’t been shocked when he saw Kangnai’s luxury medical vehicle. He hadn’t been shocked when he saw the fairy-like medical staff. But now, seeing the great Logan standing there respectfully, waiting for Su Xuan... he was shocked. And when he saw Logan take the initiative to shake Su Xuan’s hand and confess his personal admiration, his shock was beyond measure. He felt like he might just die from it!
After all, Logan was the idol he worshipped above all others!
I’ve spent countless late nights poring over his academic papers. My reverence for his profound skill has reached the point of utter worship! Seeing him now... it’s like a teenage girl seeing her favorite pop star!
He was so excited he wanted to jump up, to throw his arms around Logan in a big hug.
Oppa! Oppa! Mwah! Mwah!
But now, the idol he worshipped was actually worshipping another person...
Oh my god! What has this world come to! My whole world has been turned upside down!
The next second, Specialist Guo, a top physician at the Third Hospital, was rubbing his hands together like a bashful young girl. He approached Logan with his head bowed and said softly, "Mr. Logan, my name is Guo. I’m with the oncology department at the Third Hospital. I am also a great admirer of yours. Might I please shake your hand and get an autograph?"
"No time!" Logan didn’t even spare Specialist Guo a glance. His eyes were fixed fervently on Su Xuan as he continued with admiration, "Mr. Su, when you have a free moment, may I have the honor of buying you a drink?"
"My wife and daughter are also great admirers of yours! Especially my daughter. After she saw the video of you climbing that building to save someone, she became dead set on becoming your apprentice. Yes, she’s incredibly interested in Chinese martial arts!"
"Physician Logan, these things are not a problem," Su Xuan said, glancing toward Teacher Wang. "Once you have treated my teacher, I will certainly pay you a visit to express my thanks."
"NO, NO, NO!" Logan immediately waved his hands in protest. "How could I allow Mr. Su to visit in person? I must personally come to pick you up. My car isn’t as nice as yours, Mr. Su, so please don’t mind when the time comes."
He was, of course, aware that Su Xuan owned a supercar worth over a hundred million.
He then immediately adopted Specialist Guo’s deferential tone. "Please, Mr. Su, don’t call me Logan. ’Little Logan’ will do. May I have your autograph? My daughter would be overjoyed to see it. She would treasure it like gold!"
As he spoke, Logan pulled a shimmering golden pen from his pocket, along with a photograph, and offered them to Su Xuan. The photo was of Su Xuan, clearly printed from a screenshot of an interview. All this proved that Logan had come prepared. He had indeed requested to come and pick them up himself, all for the chance to meet Su Xuan.
SCRIBBLE, SCRIBBLE.
Su Xuan took the pen, signed the photograph, and handed it back.
Logan clutched the signed photo as if it were a priceless treasure, carefully blowing on the ink to make sure it was dry.
Logan, my idol... Witnessing this scene, Specialist Guo trembled from head to toe.
And who could blame him? Seeing your own idol act like a star-struck fangirl fawning over someone else... the psychological damage was immense.
"Physician Logan," Liu Yiming suddenly piped up from the side, "this Specialist Guo here was just saying you were an impostor, that Su Xuan hired an actor to put on a show. Haha."
Logan’s face instantly hardened. He turned his gaze to Specialist Guo for the first time, his voice like ice. "Is that so?"
Specialist Guo was so scared he felt his soul had left his body. He quickly remembered himself and bent into a deep bow toward Su Xuan, then another, and another, all in quick, precise succession. He forced a laugh. "I myself hold Mr. Su in the highest personal admiration! How could I possibly say something so baseless?"
With that, he shot a venomous glare at Liu Yiming.
At the same time, Wang Xuehan quietly asked Yang Xinxin, who was standing beside her, "What was Physician Logan talking about just now? I didn’t understand any of it!"
"Senior Sister, look." Yang Xinxin took out her phone, opened a video-sharing app, found a video, and played it for Wang Xuehan.
As Wang Xuehan watched, her beautiful eyes widened in astonishment.
I can’t believe Su Xuan really climbed such a tall building to save someone, and drove so fast and recklessly to rescue a pregnant woman... My junior brother is truly a brave and selfless person! In contrast, Guo Haozhen and his ulterior motives... it’s just pathetic. There’s no comparison between them. They aren’t even in the same league.
She cast a deep, meaningful look at Su Xuan.
"Alright, let’s sort everything else out later. The priority right now is getting my teacher to Kangnai," Su Xuan said, worried about keeping Teacher Wang waiting and noticing that Liu Yiming was losing his strength.
"Of course! Let’s get him to Kangnai!" With a wave of Logan’s hand, the nurses in white gently lifted Teacher Wang from Liu Yiming’s back onto a prepared stretcher and carefully wheeled him into the luxury medical vehicle.
The sight once again sent the male students’ minds wandering.
We wish those fairies would carry us onto the vehicle too! We love the idea of getting into a car with nurses... especially an ambulance! It’s our favorite thing!
"Mrs. Wang, Senior Sister, you two should get in the vehicle!" Liu Yiming urged, seeing that Teacher Wang was aboard. "We’ll follow you to Kangnai!"
"Only one family member may accompany the patient," Logan interjected, holding up a hand. "It’s a Kangnai regulation. For a newly admitted patient, only one family member is permitted. In truth, with Kangnai’s meticulous level of care, no family accompaniment is necessary at all."
"There’s a rule like that?" Su Xuan asked.
"Yes, Mr. Su," Logan explained. "Kangnai has conducted studies showing that family members often fail to provide effective care. In fact, they frequently introduce negative emotions that can adversely affect the patient’s condition and treatment. That’s why we established this rule. I hope you can understand."
"I see." Su Xuan thought it sounded perfectly reasonable and decided not to use his position to ask for an exception. "Then when can other family members visit?"
"In three days, at the earliest," Logan replied.
"Mom, you go with Dad," Wang Xuehan said, gently nudging her mother’s arm. "I’ll come to the hospital in three days. If anything comes up, call me. Or you can call Su Xuan. He is..." She gave Su Xuan a soft, proud smile. "He is a major shareholder of Kangnai, after all. He can definitely help."
"Alright, alright! We’ve really troubled Su Xuan so much!" Mrs. Wang nodded, thanking Su Xuan before turning toward the medical vehicle. She took two steps and paused, turning back to her daughter with some embarrassment. "The treatment fees at Kangnai must be incredibly expensive, right? You know your father has been an educator his whole life; we haven’t saved much money. Even if Su Xuan is a major shareholder, he can’t just have them treat us for free, can he? The hospital can’t take a loss to treat us..."
"Money isn’t an issue!" Liu Yiming quickly pressed the bank card with the donated funds into Mrs. Wang’s hand. "This is what everyone pitched in. It should be enough for a while. And if this isn’t enough, the money Brother Su donated will definitely be sufficient, hehe!"
Guo Haozhen, who had been lingering in the background without a chance to show off, saw his opportunity. A smirk touched his lips as he also pushed a card into Mrs. Wang’s hand. "Mrs. Wang, I’m donating five hundred thousand for Teacher Wang’s treatment. It’s just a small token of my respect."
He then lifted his chin smugly, glancing at the others.
Everyone else donating a thousand or two was already pretty good, right? My five hundred thousand is in a completely different league! That’s enough for a BMW! A grand gesture indeed!
He then turned his gaze back to Su Xuan and asked probingly, "Su Xuan, how much did you donate?"
