A phalanx of Spartan heavy infantry, clad in dense armor that encased them like human steel, advanced. Each warrior gripped a spear and shield, charging relentlessly towards the enemy.
Enemy arrows proved useless against their armor, and their spears could not reach the Spartans.
"Charge! Charge!"
Spartans never retreated. Born warriors, they knew only to charge, assault, and destroy.
"Puff, puff, puff!!!"
The enemy troops were crushed together by the Spartan charge, their chests pierced as they fell with resentment.
Following them, the [Northern Prefecture Army], [Tiger and Leopard Cavalry], and [Heavenly Policy Black Armored Army] assembled, mounted their steeds, and attacked the enemy, tearing open a gap in their ranks.
The entire army surged through, engaging in a crushing slaughter. Where they passed, nothing remained. Enemies fell incessantly, unable to withstand their charge, unable to rise against their onslaught.
Over sixty thousand cavalry had effectively split the enemy in two, surrounding them.
"Swish, swish, swish!!!"
A volley of arrows descended. The [Great Qin Black Armored Army]'s crossbow bolts were the most powerful of their time. As the dense Qin crossbows rained down, countless enemies were struck and died.
Wave after wave of arrows covered the enemy, inflicting heavy casualties.
Zhao Yun then led his [Wudang Flying Army] into the enemy camp, finishing off those who had been hit by arrows but not yet killed, and then rejoined the main army, pressing the encirclement towards the enemy's center.
Zhang Liang and Bai Qi finally appeared. Seeing the situation, they were highly satisfied. The enemy was now completely surrounded and constantly under attack from the Qin crossbows, enduring immense pressure at every moment.
"Minister Zhang is indeed formidable. One stratagem has inflicted such heavy casualties on the enemy while minimizing our own losses," Bai Qi remarked, pleased with the outcome.
"Actually, the success of each legion has exceeded my expectations. I was not very familiar with the various troop types of the territory. This battle has allowed me to better understand their combat power."
Through the movements of the reconnaissance drones, Zhang Liang had gained insight into the true combat capabilities of each troop type.
The real battlefield was entirely different from fighting monsters. Monsters were just monsters, not true enemies, and they did not understand cooperation or defensive formations.
This battle was crucial for Zhang Liang's understanding of his subordinates' fighting strength. In future engagements, he could issue more precise commands based on the specific characteristics of these troops.
"The great success achieved this time is thanks to the meritorious efforts of all legions. Now, let us face the enemy's true commanders. They still have approximately one hundred thousand fighting men. Only by eliminating them all will this battle truly be ours."
This surprise attack had successfully eliminated half the enemy's strength, a very good outcome. If these generals had not managed to rally their soldiers at the last moment, the enemy would have had even fewer men remaining.
Bai Qi and Zhang Liang walked to the front of the enemy lines. The enemy had formed a dense defensive formation, a tactic capable of withstanding assaults from archers and cavalry. Their commander was clearly resourceful.
"Who is your commander? Our commander wishes to speak with him," a man shouted from the enemy ranks.
Bai Qi and Zhang Liang emerged. Bai Qi, wielding his long sword and mounted on Qiongqi, exuded boundless aura. He said coldly, "I am. Do you have any last words before you die?"
Hass also stepped forward. He looked at the surrounding armies, noting the diverse troop types, not just human soldiers but also those of other races, which was rare among lords.
This was because territories rarely possessed additional abilities for other unit types. Even when summoned, they often lacked significant offensive power. However, judging by the reactions of his own soldiers, the enemy's various units were exceptionally strong, greatly surprising Hass.
Though he did not know the reason, Hass was certain that a lord like this was absolutely extraordinary. In all his campaigns, this was the first time he had encountered a territory capable of fielding so many unit types and unleashing such terrifying combat power.
"My name is Hass. I am a great general under the Thorsis-Raider family of the United States. I presume your lord should know the consequences of offending us. We hope you will let us leave. We can allow you to mine timber here."
Hass had naturally reported the situation to his lord. Through the relayed messages, his lord, though enraged, could only compromise.
They had already lost a hundred thousand men and could not afford to lose any more. The losses were simply too great.
Unfortunately for Hass, he had no idea who Bai Qi was. Otherwise, he would not have spoken to Bai Qi with such a tone of threat.
"Hmph! I do not know who you are, nor do I care who you are or what influence you possess. I only know this: those who offend my territory will all be killed!"
Bai Qi's gaze fell coldly upon Hass, his eyes erupting with a terrifying killing intent. The surging malevolent aura, like mountains of corpses and seas of blood, instilled a profound sense of mortal peril in the enemy.
When Hass met Bai Qi's gaze, he felt an extremely formidable fluctuation. He sensed that this person was far from ordinary.
"Is there no possibility of negotiation between us? Could we please ask your lord to come out?" Hass inquired.
Zhang Liang rode forward and said to Hass, "Our lord has entrusted all matters to me. Our lord adheres to only one principle: no matter who you are, if you provoke us, you will not leave."
"Are you not afraid of retaliation from our forces? I tell you, our power exceeds your imagination. If fully mobilized, our soldier count would undoubtedly exceed hundreds of millions. This is something you cannot possibly resist!"
Seeing their complete lack of fear, Hass realized the situation was dire. However, he was determined to force their retreat, lest his lord hold him accountable.
"Threatening us!" Bai Qi said coldly, looking at the enemy. Then he commanded, "All troops, prepare yourselves, and---KILL!"
Bai Qi detested threats. Those who dared to threaten him could not be allowed to live.
Perhaps others would fear a large enemy force, but the people of [Heavenly Court] would never fear any power!
