Nan Zhiyun had a small fit of pique, wanting to stand up on her own. But she hadn't considered how little strength she had to escape Yu Jingchen's grasp.
"I just told Yun'er not to move around. What are you trying to do like this, Yun'er? And you want to be on top? Nan Nan isn't usually this forward," Yu Jingchen continued.
"Your Majesty!" Nan Zhiyun was truly provoked.
Yu Jingchen knew he had to moderate. Seeing Nan Zhiyun's face flush red from his teasing, he found it rather amusing. He stood up with Nan Zhiyun in his arms, and she let out a sigh of relief.
"Are you hurt at all?" Yu Jingchen asked, not forgetting to check, "Did you twist your ankle?"
"No." When she fell, Yu Jingchen had held her entirely in his embrace, so she wasn't injured.
"You need to learn your lesson. What if I weren't here? The swing has been installed here, but you shouldn't lose your sense of proportion. Pushing so high, what if you fall? In the end, it's you who gets hurt. If you ever get injured because of this swing, you'll never be allowed to touch it again, and I'll dismantle it. " Yu Jingchen sounded like a father lecturing his daughter.
Nan Zhiyun didn't dare to speak under his lecture, as she was in the wrong. But... if Yu Jingchen hadn't suddenly spoken from behind her today, she wouldn't have been startled, nor would she have fallen.
Seeing Nan Zhiyun's expression, Yu Jingchen knew she was spacing out again. He immediately raised his hand and flicked her forehead.
"Ow!" Nan Zhiyun touched her forehead, feeling a slight pain.
"Spacing out again? Did you hear what I just said?" Yu Jingchen was truly becoming more and more like an old father. Even her own father didn't fuss this much. Of course, she could only complain inwardly about these words; if Yu Jingchen actually heard them, she'd be in big trouble.
"I heard you. I'll be more careful from now on. Today was just an accident," Nan Zhiyun answered meekly.
Yu Jingchen was finally satisfied with her answer, but whether he believed it was another matter.
"I'll have someone plant some grass here tomorrow, or lay down a velvet carpet, just in case you accidentally fall," Yu Jingchen thought, feeling increasingly unsafe.
He didn't know what was wrong with him lately. He felt conflicted. He had installed this swing hoping to make Nan Zhiyun happier, but now that it was installed, he began to worry about her safety.
It was like when he got Nan Zhiyun a kitten before. At the time, he thought this kind of kitten, soft and cuddly, should be able to please Nan Zhiyun and make her less bored when she was alone. Plus, he felt Nan Zhiyun was a bit like a kitten, so he chose one to send over. But later, when he saw how much Nan Zhiyun liked the cat, he felt a pang of discomfort.
"It's not that exaggerated, is it?" Nan Zhiyun felt Yu Jingchen was making a mountain out of a molehill.
"It is that exaggerated. Didn't I tell you? No matter when, your safety always comes first. So you need to protect yourself and not do dangerous things. If I ever find out you've done anything to harm yourself, I will not let you off lightly," Yu Jingchen said with a "warning."
Nan Zhiyun wasn't as afraid of Yu Jingchen anymore. She no longer felt the same dread towards his "will not let you off lightly."
