Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Big and Little Slackers
A few people walked towards Room 4.
Holding her sister’s hand, Lin Ci felt her steps lighten.
She couldn’t help but glance at her tightly grasped hand with her sister, her gaze moving up to the arm covered by a sleeve.
There were wounds on the arm.
She thought, under no circumstances should I let my sister find out. If she discovers it, my sister might reject me.
When they reached Room 4, they found the usually good-natured Wu Ti unexpectedly roaring.
"Wu Ya! Wu Yu! Can’t you two move at all?"
Tuanzi craned her neck to have a look and discovered two rocking chairs placed side by side in the yard.
One of the chairs naturally had Wu Yu lying on it. After a few days apart, this brother was still lazy as ever.
On the other rocking chair lay a young woman who looked very much like Wu Ti, probably a sister.
Her posture was even more languid.
Upon hearing Wu Ti’s angry roar, the big slacker and little slacker slowly glanced at him.
Wu Ya: "Brother, anger damages the liver, let’s take a deep breath with me."
Wu Yu opened his mouth but made no sound.
Wu Ti was amused despite his anger.
"Wu Ya, you said you were coming to help with the work, yet here you are lounging like a slacker!"
Wu Ya pretended not to hear, sensed the gaze, turned her head to look, and found several people standing at the gate of the yard.
She lazily greeted them.
"Brother, the guests are here, quickly go and entertain them."
Wu Ti turned back, his expression a bit awkward.
Su Hanjiang, however, remained calm and explained their purpose.
Wu Ti was somewhat pleasantly surprised, "Really? That’s two fish."
Tuanzi patted her chest, "Don’t worry, after we eat them, we can continue fishing. We are fishing experts, after all."
[Ancient Martial System: Without a fishing aura, you’ll have to rely on your skills to fish; if you can’t catch anything, it’ll be embarrassing]
Tuanzi pretended not to hear.
Wu Ti put away the fish and turned his head, realizing his sister was missing.
He looked back again and found his lazy sister squatting in front of two little girls.
"Miaomiao and Little Ci, right? I’m an editor for a magazine and want to invite you to be on the cover. Your temperaments fit this issue’s theme perfectly."
Tuanzi blinked.
"What temperament?"
"Well," Wu Ya couldn’t help but lift her hand, poking their little cheeks respectively, "one is a little hero of the Jianghu, and the other is a descendent of the Liyuan."
Tuanzi agreed without hesitation.
"Sure, sure~"
Lin Ci hesitated a little; she felt her dad wouldn’t agree.
Just then, Wu Ti walked over briskly and unceremoniously grabbed his sister by the collar to pull her back.
"Firstly, by seniority, you’re an aunt, not a sister. Secondly, this requires permission from their parents; don’t fool the children here."
Seeing his son sitting up slowly, Wu Ti added, "Do you want to play with the sisters?"
Wu Yu was a little conflicted.
Tuanzi waved at him, "We’re going to deliver fish; are you coming, Brother Wu Yu?"
The little boy thought for a moment and finally climbed off the rocking chair.
As he passed by Wu Ti, he seriously explained his reason, "Dad is too noisy; it’s quieter outside."
Wu Ti: "..."
Arriving at Room 3, Gu Wangchao was still arranging the vegetable garden.
Tuanzi left a bucket, greeted him, and ran off.
Su Hanjiang carried another bucket to Room 2; Liu Hu took the two fish, thanked him earnestly, and then called out to the house.
"Sis, Bai, come out please."
First out was a short-haired woman with a dignified demeanor named Liu Qin, who is a lawyer and also Liu Hu’s and Liu Bai’s cousin, the daughter of their uncle.
Liu Hu is a dancer, and doesn’t know many artists, only more familiar with his cousin Liu Man, the daughter of his second uncle.
However, Liu Man has been busy lately and has no time to attend the program. A few close colleagues are also occupied, so he could only invite his cousin over.
Having learned from the system about the scope of a lawyer’s work, Tuanzi curiously asked, "Sister, what type of cases do you usually handle?"
Liu Qin: "Divorce cases, property disputes."
Tuanzi’s eyes lit up.
"Divorce cases?"
Liu Qin smiled, "Why are you asking about that?"
Tuanzi grinned, trying to play cute to smooth things over. She didn’t notice Lin Ci’s eyes light up at Liu Qin’s response, only to dim again swiftly.
Liu Qin, being astute, instantly realized there was a problem in Lin Ci’s parents’ marriage, or else a child wouldn’t react this way.
Su Hanjiang understood Tuanzi’s reaction, and after bidding farewell to the people in Room 2, took her back to Room 1.
Temporarily letting his son and Wu Yu accompany Lin Ci to play, he avoided the cameras and quietly asked Tuanzi, "What do you want to know?"
Tuanzi hurriedly told him the things Gu Peihai knew.
"Brother said he has photos and videos as evidence. Miaomiao doesn’t know what they are, but they should be very useful."
Su Hanjiang instantly understood.
If it involves infidelity, what else could be the content of the photos and videos?
The person coming to negotiate with the director was not easy to handle, and keeping the photos could be used to threaten Wei Cai. Alternatively, Wei Cai might have some unusual hobbies.
"Here’s what I found," meeting those clean, big eyes, Su Hanjiang quickly dismissed the idea of not telling a child, and said seriously, "He might be involved in money laundering."
"Money laundering?"
Tuanzi tilted her head.
Su Hanjiang initially wanted to say, maybe you should call your brother over, but seeing Tuanzi thinking so seriously, he continued speaking.
"Two years ago, a film he invested in had a high budget but turned out terribly. I had someone investigate, and found that the largest investor was Mengkong Entertainment, whose responsible party is a board member."
He had evidence that could lead to a direct report.
Perhaps most of Mengkong Entertainment’s executives were kept in the dark, but that board member definitely had a problem.
Tuanzi still didn’t fully understand what money laundering meant, "So, he’s committed a crime, right?"
"Yes, enough to put him in jail. At this time, it will be much easier for Mrs. Yun to file for divorce, unless she has other concerns."
Tuanzi rubbed her cheeks.
"Then maybe Miaomiao should ask Lin Ci’s sister."
Getting away from an abusive father and a criminal father would indeed be best sooner rather than later.
Tuanzi found Lin Ci, also avoiding the cameras, and with a serious face, a hint of severity.
Lin Ci instinctively mirrored the seriousness.
She nervously pinched her fingers, "Miaomiao, what’s wrong?"
"Sister Lin Ci, Miaomiao really likes you, thinks you’re especially outstanding."
Lin Ci was stunned, her little face quickly turning rosy.
"I-I also like Miaomiao; she’s the most amazing person I’ve ever seen."
Tuanzi stepped forward, putting her little hand on Lin Ci’s shoulder.
"Actually, Miaomiao knows that Sister often gets hit by bad people."
Lin Ci’s face turned pale at once.
"Miaomiao wants to help Sister," Tuanzi said seriously, "Does Sister want to take Mom away from the bad guy?"
Ten minutes later, the two little girls came out hand in hand.
Su Hanjiang intended to inquire but seeing Lin Ci’s red eyes and nose tips paired with a determined gaze, he felt surprised yet relieved.
No matter what Yun Xiuxiu thinks, her daughter truly is outstanding.
Everyone returned to their respective homes.
As soon as Tuanzi got home, she saw her cousin pressed against the wall, while Gu Wangchao was staring at him coldly.
"Brother Pei Hai, did you do something wrong again?"
Tuanzi’s lips curved upwards, strolling closer to watch the spectacle unfold.
