Chapter 949 Stop Right There, From Today On You Sleep in the Guest Room

Jin Lan was exhausted. On the way home, he bought some duck offal that Jiang Yan loved and some boiled chicken for the child. By the time he arrived, Jiang Yan had already prepared dinner and was about to eat with Tao Tao.

Upon seeing Jin Lan, Tao Tao immediately ran to receive the items he bought and happily exclaimed, "Daddy, Mom gave me a new name! I'm Jin Jianyi. Do you think it sounds good?"

"It sounds wonderful. We won't call you Tao Tao anymore. Daddy bought you a chicken, eat more later." Jin Lan patted the little one's head.

His gaze shifted towards the kitchen, where Jiang Yan was bringing out the meal.

"Yan Yan, I bought your favorite duck tongue," Jin Lan quickly chimed in, trying to gain favor.

"Mm," Jiang Yan responded flatly, turning back into the kitchen.

Jianyi took the items and went to the kitchen to find plates to put them on; she was very adept at these tasks.

"Don't do these things. Put them down and let me. You go wash your hands and wait for dinner," Jiang Yan said, not wanting her daughter to be too sensible.

"It's okay, Mom. I'm used to doing these things. If you don't let me, I'll feel unaccustomed," Little Jianyi smiled sweetly at her.

After washing his hands and changing his clothes, Jin Lan quickly came over to help. Jiang Yan completely ignored him. She was in no mood to deal with the Jin family right now. No matter how much she loved Jin Lan, she could not accept Jin Qing's actions.

Even with Jianyi, Jiang Yan still wanted a divorce.

The dishes were served. Jin Lan called Jiang Yan's name a couple of times. Jiang Yan, to avoid leaving a bad childhood shadow on the child, finally responded and said, "Let's eat. We won't talk while eating. Remember, 'Don't speak while eating, don't speak while sleeping.'"

Jianyi obediently nodded and began to eat seriously, no longer speaking. However, the little girl still ate vegetables and not meat. Jiang Yan picked up two pieces of meat for her and said, "You are Mom's treasure. Remember, eat whatever you want. You don't always have to eat greens. You won't grow if you only eat greens, what if you turn into a sallow girl?"

Jianyi looked at the meat in front of her, took a bite, and smiled with her eyes curved, "It's delicious, Mom. It's delicious. Dad, you eat too."

Jianyi proactively picked meat for Jin Lan. Jin Lan smiled and gave her two pieces of chicken, pushing all the duck tongues and carcasses to Jiang Yan.

"Yan Yan, you like these, eat them," Jin Lan's tone was clearly placating.

Jiang Yan felt a pang in her heart, but she truly didn't know how to deal with this marriage. She remained silent. Jianyi's gaze shifted from her father's face to her mother's. She struggled to get up, picked up a duck tongue, and placed it on Jiang Yan's plate. "Mom, eat."

Jiang Yan smiled, "Thank you, my treasure. Mom will eat by herself."

Jiang Yan simply picked up the food and ate. Jin Lan also breathed a sigh of relief.

The meal was relatively warm. After eating, Jiang Yan didn't want to clean up. The hourly maid would come to clean anyway. She took Jianyi to bathe and sleep. Little Jianyi felt incredibly happy, so happy she could bubble. Her mother not only bathed her but also held her in bed, dried her hair, and read her a bedtime story. She felt as though she were in paradise.

After coaxing the child to sleep, Jiang Yan left the room. She had already made up her mind. Since she had decided to accept Jianyi, she would care for and treat her as her own daughter.

She wouldn't have any more children anyway, so adopting one wouldn't be bad.

Seeing her come out, Jin Lan walked over. Jiang Yan immediately raised her hand to stop him, saying, "Stop. Starting today, you'll sleep in the guest room."
