"Impossible, I don't believe it. My baby couldn't possibly be! I'm going to find him!" Ye Wan got out of bed regardless of everything, ignoring her recent surgery and the risk of her stitches tearing. All she had on her mind was finding her child!
Ying Wuji refused to let her go, so Ye Wan threatened to jump from the building. In the end, Ying Wuji could only send a car to take her to find Gu Yunting.
Inside the seaside villa.
Ye Wan met Gu Yunting and her baby. The baby was tiny, lying in a cradle, but its entire body was purplish-blue. It was a stillborn.
Ye Wan's heart died with the baby. She refused to believe it. The baby had been moving inside her before, moving every day. Although not frequently, it was definitely not dead.
"Gu Yunting, give me back my child!" Ye Wan lunged forward but was stopped by bodyguards. She was weak, and the slightest touch sent her to the ground.
Her Cesarean incision split open, and blood flowed out. Yet, she felt no pain. The baby's death had plunged her into complete despair. What fear of pain did a despairing person have?
"Brother Ting, what's going on? Who's being so noisy, disturbing my sleep?" A sweet voice chimed in. Ye Wan looked over and saw a familiar figure descending the stairs. It was Guan Yue, who had harbored a crush on Ying Wuji for over a decade.
Ye Wan stared blankly as Guan Yue walked to Gu Yunting's side. Gu Yunting remained unfazed.
Upon seeing the dead infant, Guan Yue covered her mouth in disgust. "What's that smell? So foul. It's a dead child! Hurry up and get rid of it, such bad luck!"
Gu Yunting remained silent, only staring coldly at Ye Wan. Ye Wan couldn't believe that this woman would call her baby unlucky, and he wouldn't react at all.
How could he be with Guan Yue?
Ye Wan was unaware that Guan Yue was the one who had delivered the drug to Gu Yunting. Guan Yue now presented herself as Gu Yunting's savior. It was also Guan Yue who had intentionally revealed Ye Wan's whereabouts to Gu Yunting just before her labor, causing Ye Wan emotional distress and leading to her premature birth of a stillborn.
"Give me back my child!" Ye Wan suddenly pulled out a knife and pressed it against her throat.
"Ye Wan, how laughable. Do you really think you can still threaten me with your life?" Gu Yunting's gaze remained ice-cold, looking at her as if she were already dead.
"Since that's the case, I'll die with my child. I hope you'll bury my baby together, I don't want my baby to be alone." Ye Wan's eyes fell on the lifeless baby, her gaze filled with resolute hatred.
Just as she plunged the knife into her chest, an explosion suddenly rang out, startling everyone. Ye Wan's eyes had been fixed on the baby, so during the commotion, she quickly scooped up the infant and escaped.
Amidst a cloud of smoke, Ye Wan successfully fled with the baby. She ran blindly, glancing down at the baby in her arms from time to time, constantly calling out its name.
But the baby remained unresponsive, its eyes tightly shut, refusing to open them even to look at the mother who had carried it.
Gu Yunting was desperately chasing after her, his heart pounding with panic. He couldn't lose Ye Wan. Though the child was dead, they could have countless more!
When Ye Wan reached the cliff edge, she almost rushed over. She stopped and turned back, shouting at the approaching crowd, "Don't come any closer!"
