Jiang Yan finally called Jin Lan, asking him to come back. She needed to pack some things and wanted him to sign the divorce agreement, which she had already had a lawyer draft.
Jin Lan rushed home immediately after the call.
Jiang Yan arrived home first. After entering with her fingerprint, she was surprised to find someone in the house. She stared, somewhat dazed, at the scene before her: Jin Qing was in the living room with a five or six-year-old girl, feeding her fruit.
"Yan Yan, you're back." Jin Qing's attitude was surprisingly good, making Jiang Yan think she was seeing a ghost.
"How did you get into my house?" Jiang Yan had no good feelings towards Jin Qing anymore, so her tone was no longer polite. She finally understood that with people who overstepped boundaries, politeness was unnecessary.
"I have the password." Jin Qing said with a smile.
"I've changed the password. Shouldn't you inform the owner before entering someone else's house next time? Ask if you can come in?" Jiang Yan was utterly fed up with Jin Qing, and her tone involuntarily became sharp.
"Look at you, this is my brother's house. What can I not enter?" Jin Qing maintained a pleasant demeanor.
Jiang Yan was upset, her expression grim. The little girl eating fruit, perhaps sensing Jiang Yan's fierceness, hid behind Jin Qing.
"Tao Tao, don't hide. Come, call her Mama." Jin Qing pulled the little girl out and pointed at Jiang Yan.
Jiang Yan couldn't believe her ears. She thought she had misheard and asked incredulously, "What did you say?"
"Tao Tao, don't be afraid. This is your Mama. Yan Yan, look at you, you've scared our daughter so much?" Jin Qing looked at Jiang Yan with a tone of reproach.
"Jin Qing, what exactly do you mean? Explain it to me. Who should call me Mama? I don't have a child!" Jiang Yan was completely flustered. Since divorce was imminent, she no longer feared a confrontation.
She felt Jin Qing was utterly insulting. If Jin Qing wouldn't show any regard for decency, then she had no reason to spare her any.
"I know you don't have a child. Aren't I helping you adopt one? Children can attract children. If you raise Tao Tao, you'll get pregnant and can bear children for the Jin family." Jin Qing's expression also turned cold. She felt Jiang Yan was being too much. Everything she did was for Jiang Yan's own good.
Did she really have to say out loud that Jiang Yan couldn't have children? Would that bring her any honor?
What was the difference between a woman who couldn't bear children and a hen that didn't lay eggs? A hen that didn't lay eggs could only be slaughtered for meat.
A woman who couldn't bear children was destined for a lonely old age.
"I don't need it. If you want to raise her, take her yourself. I don't want her! I will divorce Jin Lan immediately and won't delay your family in continuing the lineage!" Jiang Yan was on the verge of going crazy.
As Jin Lan stepped out of the elevator, he heard Jiang Yan's near-hysterical shout. Alarmed, he hurried inside. Seeing the scene, he was momentarily unsure of what had happened. He quickly walked to his wife's side, intending to pull her into his embrace, but Jiang Yan shook him off and turned away, wiping her face, unwilling to let anyone see her tears.
At least, she didn't want the Jin family to see them.
"What's going on? Sis, what did you do again to make Yan Yan so angry?" Jin Lan's wife's reaction made him realize his sister must have caused trouble again.
"What do you mean, 'what did I do again'? Look at her attitude. She always gives me a cold shoulder. Do I owe her something? Clearly, she owes our Jin family. Today, I kindly brought Tao Tao over, and she yelled at me with such rudeness. Is this how she was raised?" Jin Qing was clearly also quite angered.
