It seemed Gu Yunting truly didn't remember her, so she sat down and chatted with the person in charge. After ordering, they ate and talked. Midway through the meal, the female manager suddenly stood up and said with a smile, "Mr. Gu, you're here for dinner too?"
Ye Wan turned her head and saw Gu Yunting walking in from outside. However, his expression didn't seem very good. He explained to his secretary, "I had a meeting with a business partner, but they called to cancel. I definitely can't cooperate with such an unreliable partner in the future."
"Then why don't we all eat together? We can discuss the cooperation with Miss Ling," the female manager invited warmly.
"Mr. Gu, you have a meeting this afternoon. Just eat something here," the secretary advised.
"Miss Ling, you don't mind, do you?" Gu Yunting saw that Ye Wan was spacing out and didn't react, his gaze sweeping over her.
Ye Wan, "..."
Would he leave if she said she minded?
"I don't mind. Please, Mr. Gu."
"Then let's eat together," Gu Yunting said. After he sat down, the secretary immediately called a waiter to order another round of dishes. When the dishes arrived, the secretary said she had something to do and left.
Ye Wan no longer felt like talking much when she saw Gu Yunting. Gu Yunting and the female manager were discussing a project. The female manager's phone rang. She said "excuse me" and gestured before getting up to answer it.
Only Ye Wan and Gu Yunting were left at the table, facing each other in silence. Ye Wan lowered her head and ate quietly.
"Does Miss Ling really like the dishes here?" Gu Yunting frowned as he looked at her.
"It's okay, it's quite delicious," Ye Wan replied.
"It seems Miss Ling shouldn't be running a jewelry company, but a restaurant," Gu Yunting said coldly. Ye Wan understood the sarcasm in his words.
"Food is the most important thing for the people. It's not impossible. If the jewelry company can't keep going one day, I'll find a place to open a restaurant," Ye Wan said indifferently.
"Then the contract is void. I see Miss Ling doesn't have much confidence in this business," Gu Yunting's voice grew colder.
Ye Wan, "..."
Is he crazy?
She was having a good discussion with someone, and he insisted on joining them for a meal, only to mock her.
"I can afford the breach of contract fee," Gu Yunting added, then stood up as if to leave.
"Mr. Gu, I was just joking. You must understand the strength of our company," Ye Wan gritted her teeth and tried to keep him there. Cooperating wasn't just her personal matter, she couldn't be impulsive.
"Your company does have some strength, but I don't know Miss Ling very well. At least from your attitude, I doubt if you truly want to make this company succeed," Gu Yunting looked at her very seriously.
Ye Wan was speechless by his retort. She did have an attitude problem, but it was because of him. However, his words also reminded her that she really needed to set aside personal grievances and focus on her career.
"I apologize. It was indeed my oversight. Mr. Gu, please give my company another chance. I will show you."
"Hmm, I hope Miss Ling keeps her word. Let's eat," Gu Yunting sat back down, picked up his chopsticks, and began to eat.
Ye Wan, "..."
She felt wronged but ultimately held back and said nothing. Since she had decided to pursue a career, she would do it well.
"Is Miss Ling married?" Gu Yunting suddenly asked.
"Does this have anything to do with the cooperation?" Ye Wan retorted, frowning.
"Of course, it does. It's very important."
