Chapter 638 An Accident

Ye Wan walked out of the hospital in a daze. She had lost everything, even her identity. She didn't even know who she was or where she came from.

As she left the hospital, a car drove up from not far away. Ye Wan, lost in thought, was unable to dodge it and was hit. As she fell, Ye Wan used her arm to brace herself before falling completely, fearing that if she fell directly, the baby might be harmed.

The person in the car quickly got out. An old man with very sharp eyes was in the car, while the driver was terrified and quickly explained, "She ran into me directly. It's not my fault. I already slammed on the brakes."

Elder Yan was momentarily surprised when he saw Ye Wan's face. How could this child look so much like the person in the painting?

Ye Wan's arm was in extreme pain. She lifted it to see that blood had soaked through her sleeve, and her clothes were torn. It seemed her injury was not minor.

"How can this person speak like that? Are they trying to shirk responsibility? Young lady, call the police quickly." The surrounding onlookers, seeing Ye Wan's frail and pitiful state, all believed the driver was trying to shirk responsibility.

"Exactly. Hitting someone at the hospital entrance and being so arrogant! We should call the police and arrest him."

The driver was at a loss for words, his face flushing red. He said, "Then let's check the surveillance footage and see what happened. There are so many people staging accidents these days!"

Elder Yan watched from the side without comment, his sharp eyes scanning Ye Wan. He had seen clearly from inside the car that it wasn't his driver's fault; the young woman had run into their car herself.

Could she be staging an accident?

Ye Wan struggled to stand up and said, "It's my fault. I was distracted and not paying attention to where I was going. It's not their fault."

Her face was pale, but her words were firm. After speaking, she turned to leave.

The driver breathed a sigh of relief. Elder Yan, who had been observing Ye Wan, spoke up, "Even if you weren't paying attention, my car still hit you. Go to the hospital and get your wound bandaged first. We'll deal with everything else after you're treated."

The surrounding crowd also chimed in. Mostly because Ye Wan looked so disheveled, and not like someone intentionally staging an accident. Even if she was careless, people felt pity for her.

Seeing this, the driver said, "Sir, I need to move the car."

Because of this small accident, traffic had backed up. Elder Yan waved to the driver to move the car. Ye Wan wanted to leave, but Elder Yan grabbed her and said, "Young lady, you can't leave. Go get your wound treated first."

"Grandpa, I don't need to. It's fine," Ye Wan said, not in a good mood and just wanting to go home.

"You're still bleeding. Since you called me Grandpa, you have to listen to me… Young lady, have you been to the nursing home in the suburbs?" Elder Yan asked, staring at Ye Wan.

"Yes, I have. I went with classmates at the beginning of the year to volunteer and encountered a mudslide," Ye Wan nodded.

"..."

Elder Yan realized that this girl's voice sounded familiar and very kind. The girl who had brought him food in the rain that day was her!

"Let's get your wound treated first," Elder Yan said, pulling Ye Wan to the emergency room and asking the doctor to treat her injury.

Ye Wan no longer refused, only stating that she was pregnant. Elder Yan was very surprised. This young lady was still a student, how could she be pregnant? Was she married?

The doctor recognized Ye Wan. She had been brought in for emergency treatment before. He thought this girl was truly unlucky, always getting injured.
