Ye Wan didn't know Lin Fei Wei's intentions. Seeing that Lin Fei Wei wasn't causing trouble, she continued reading and ignored her.
Ye Cheng was leaving. Before he went, Ye Wan spent time with him every day. Ye Cheng was also reluctant to leave his sister, but he knew he had to become strong to protect her from being bullied by anyone and to live the life she desired.
On the day he left, a car came to pick him up. Ye Wan knew Gu Yun Ting had arranged it, so she felt somewhat reassured. She repeatedly told her brother to take care of his health and safety, that nothing was more important than his well-being.
Ye Cheng nodded understandingly. Ye Wan saw her brother into the car, their hands tightly clasped. Finally, Ye Wan forced herself to let go of his hand and said, "Go!"
The bodyguard closed the car door. Ye Cheng immediately tapped on the window. The driver rolled down the window. Ye Cheng couldn't hold back his tears and began to cry tragically, regretting leaving his sister.
Ye Wan was also very sad, but she knew that no matter how reluctant they were, separation was inevitable. So, she said sternly, "Go! Ye Cheng, since you've chosen the path, don't look back. Your sister believes you can take care of yourself, protect yourself, and achieve what you want. Close the car window, and don't cry after you leave!"
Ye Cheng nodded, "Sister, wait for me to come back."
With those words, he closed the car window. Ye Cheng cried even harder, tears and snot streaming down his face. He curled himself into a small ball, closing his eyes, refusing to look outside any longer.
Ye Wan's tears finally fell uncontrollably. She squatted on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. For so many years, she and her brother had relied on each other. Her brother was her greatest motivation and reason for living. Sometimes, when she felt like she couldn't go on, just thinking of his cute and innocent little face gave her the strength to persevere.
She wanted her brother to be well. From now on, neither of them could cry anymore because tears only mattered if someone cared. When no one cared, tears were the most useless things.
In the car not far away, Gu Yun Ting's gaze was fixed on the distant, thin, and frail figure. The pain in his palm was still heart-wrenching, yet he felt it was for the best. Only by feeling the pain in his hand could he make the pain in his heart less noticeable.
Recently, his health had deteriorated significantly. He knew it was due to the medication. Luo Su had disappeared for some time. The world was vast, and finding someone in hiding was not easy. He needed time.
But the child in her belly could not wait any longer. The sooner it was removed, the less harm it would cause to her body.
When Gu Yun Ting approached Ye Wan, Ye Wan looked down at the leather shoes in front of her, then slowly looked up, her gaze meeting the man who caused her unbearable pain.
She slowly stood up, her legs numb, her vision darkening slightly. Gu Yun Ting suppressed the urge to help her and said, "I'm getting married, so get rid of the child in your belly immediately."
Ye Wan was so shocked by his words that she stumbled back a few steps, her hand reaching for the doorframe to keep herself from falling in front of him.
"Gu Yun Ting, I won't interfere with you. The child is mine alone. I won't harm it. You should leave. From now on, we go our separate ways." Ye Wan trembled, not even daring to look at him, for fear that another glance would drive her mad.
"Ye Wan, do you really think I'm discussing this with you? I will not allow any unfavorable factors that could affect my marriage to exist!" Gu Yun Ting looked at her cruelly. "Guards! Take her away!"
