Chapter 612 How Much More Is Needed

"No need. If you have money in the future, help those in need," Ye Wan said, knowing his mother was seriously ill and not expecting him to repay her.

"I will," Shen Ziche replied.

Hearing Ye Wan's words, the people in front of her looked at her with admiration, unable to resist turning their heads. They thought this young lady was truly kind-hearted and beautiful.

"I'll queue for you, you go sit down," Shen Ziche genuinely wanted to thank Ye Wan.

"No need, you should go see your mother," Ye Wan shook her head in refusal.

Shen Ziche didn't leave. He stood by her side until she paid, and then took the prescription to queue for the medicine.

Ye Wan found a place to sit and wait.

Shen Ziche returned with Ye Wan's medicine and the medicine his mother needed, handing Ye Wan's to her.

"Take care of yourself, I'm leaving." Ye Wan got up to leave.

"Sister, can I see you again?" Shen Ziche asked.

Ye Wan looked back at him, thinking of him working at the bar. She frowned and said, "Let's have lunch together later. Come down as soon as possible, I'll be waiting for you in the lobby."

Shen Ziche seemed to disbelief it. "I'll be back as soon as I can!"

With that, the young man turned and ran. Ye Wan walked to the lobby and found a place to sit, taking out her phone to check the messages from Jiang Yan and Jiang Mi. She opened and replied to them before putting her phone down and waiting.

Ten minutes later, Shen Ziche came down from upstairs. He caught his breath before approaching Ye Wan and saying, "Sister, I'm here."

"Have you settled your mother?" Ye Wan stood up and asked.

"Yes, she's settled," Shen Ziche replied.

"Then let's go find a place to eat something," Ye Wan said, leading the way out. Shen Ziche immediately followed, staying slightly behind her. There were quite a few people in the hospital, so he carefully protected her.

Once outside, Ye Wan hailed a taxi. After they got in, Ye Wan gave an address – a place that served stir-fried dishes.

Shen Ziche remained silent, only occasionally glancing at the bag of medicine she was carrying. He knew it was folic acid. He didn't know what it was for and had quickly searched it on Baidu. It said it was for pregnant women.

The place Ye Wan chose was not far from the hospital. They arrived in a few minutes. After Ye Wan paid the taxi fare, they got out and entered the restaurant. Ye Wan requested a small private room, and the waiter led them inside.

"Order whatever you like to eat."

"I'm not picky, anything is fine," Shen Ziche said, looking down.

Ye Wan ordered two meat dishes, two vegetable dishes, a soup, two bowls of rice, and two drinks.

After the waiter left, Ye Wan looked at the young man in front of her and asked, "Why are you working at a bar again?"

Considering the young man's pride, she phrased her question gently.

"There was a complication with my mother's condition, and the previous medical expenses were not enough," Shen Ziche looked up and answered her earnestly. This was something he had wanted to tell her for a long time.

He had wanted to say it since he first saw her at the bar, not to complain, not to appear weak, and not to gain sympathy. He just didn't want her to misunderstand him as someone who wasn't serious about life.

Ye Wan nodded and asked, "How much more do you need?"

"One hundred thousand." Shen Ziche, without much thought, stated the amount of medical expenses his mother still needed.

"Did you go to school before?" Ye Wan guessed that he was probably in high school at his age, and likely dropped out because his mother fell ill.
