"I'll cook for you," Jiang Yan said to him with a serious expression.
"Can your cooking even be eaten? I'm afraid of getting poisoned," Jin Lan said, half-jokingly, as he pulled her into his embrace.
"It's not that bad, is it? How about I clean for you?" Jiang Yan tilted her head, racking her brain for ways to appease him.
"There are cleaning services for that, I don't need you," Jin Lan held her tighter, his large hand gripping her waist.
"Then what else can I..."
Jin Lan suddenly lowered his head and kissed her lips, cutting off her next words. Jiang Yan was startled and immediately tried to push him away. This was a public place in the neighborhood, and her home was nearby. If anyone saw, she would lose face!
Fortunately, Jin Lan was mindful of the public setting. He kissed her for a few seconds before letting go, smiling. "Do you know what I want now?"

"I can't stay out overnight!"
"Come to my place first, and I'll take you back at midnight," Jin Lan smiled even more brightly. He thought giving Jiang Yan a place in the same neighborhood was a brilliant idea.
"Okay," Jiang Yan nodded, indicating that the arrangement was acceptable.
"Jiang Yan, Dr. Jin, what a coincidence, running into you here!" Jiang Huan had seen the two of them being affectionate and had witnessed Jin Lan kiss Jiang Yan. She was so consumed by jealousy that she couldn't control herself and had to approach them.
Jiang Yan felt a little embarrassed. Although she and Jiang Huan didn't get along, she felt awkward being caught in such a situation.
"Jin Lan and I have something to do, you should go back," Jiang Yan said, then took Jin Lan's hand, intending to leave with him.
"Don't go. Since Dr. Jin is already here, you should at least invite him in for a visit. You can't just ask someone to leave like that, it's impolite. Besides, Mom and Dad have always wanted to meet Dr. Jin," Jiang Huan said, racking her brain to keep Jin Lan there.

"Thank you for your kind offer, Miss Jiang, but it's not necessary. Yan Yan and I will go to my place. I'll visit Uncle and Aunt another day," Jin Lan said with a non-committal smile.
"Go to your place so late? Then she'll have to stay overnight. How can that be? Jiang Yan, as your sister, I must tell you, you're a girl, how can you be so immodest? Staying overnight at a man's place before marriage is absolutely unacceptable," Jiang Huan said, feigning concern for her sister's well-being.
"I won't stay overnight at his place, I'll just visit for a bit and come back," Jiang Yan said, linking her arm through Jin Lan's.
"Look at the time. If you go now and come back, even without sitting, it will be past midnight."
"My place is in this neighborhood, so you don't need to worry. Let's go," Jin Lan didn't want to waste any more time with this nonsensical woman.
He felt that perhaps neither he nor Jiang Yan had good luck with family. His nephew was troublesome, and he didn't want any further contact with him. Jiang Yan's sister was even more troublesome and despicable. He didn't want Jiang Yan to associate with her either.
