Chapter 760 Do You Still Bake Cakes?

Having lived in the Gu residence for so many years, she knew how busy he was, handling myriad tasks every day with endless work. Was the man before her truly real?

Ye Wan even wondered if she was hallucinating from missing him too much, if she was ill. Was this all a figment of her imagination, too idealistic, a manifestation of her deepest desires?

Gu Yunting thought for a moment and understood her meaning. He said, "Money can't be earned endlessly, and work is never finished. People still need to relax appropriately and enjoy life."

Ye Wan was speechless.

Should she believe him?

After collecting the shells, Gu Yunting carried the bucket in one hand and her hand in the other, returning to the villa.

Ye Wan touched the scar on his hand, a result of a burn, and felt a pang of discomfort, a mix of sourness and pain.

Upon their return, all the materials for making shell wind chimes were delivered. Ye Wan sat by the window on the soft carpet, diligently crafting the wind chime. The one she was making was particularly large, thus time-consuming. Since she was a pregnant woman now, unable to do much, this served as a way to pass the time.

Gu Yunting still had work to do. He sat on the sofa in the living room, using his laptop to process it. Jin Lan and Jiang Jingxiu had both called, spoken a few words to him, and hung up.

Both of them were currently consumed by pain and anxiety. One hated himself for being unable to find the antidote, the other for being unable to develop it.

Yet, Gu Yunting, the party involved, seemed to take it more philosophically.

The wind chime Ye Wan was making was over two meters long. Once finished, it was taller than she was. Seeing this, Gu Yunting immediately put down his work and walked over, asking, "Where should we hang it?"

"By the entrance, perhaps."

Gu Yunting then carried the exceptionally long wind chime to the doorway and hung it up according to Ye Wan's wishes.

The wind chime dangled to the ground. When the wind blew, the shells collided, producing a pleasant sound. Ye Wan looked at the finished wind chime with great satisfaction.

"Does it look good?" the girl asked, her eyes shining brightly as she looked at the man beside her, like a primary school student awaiting praise.

Gu Yunting reached out and gently ruffled the top of her soft hair, praising earnestly, "You have skillful hands and a clever mind!"

Ye Wan felt a surge of happiness from his compliment, lowering her head shyly and murmuring softly, "This is the first time I've realized this man has such a sweet tongue."

"What were you saying?" Gu Yunting hadn't clearly heard her mutterings, only seeing her lips moving, flushed red.

"I said I'm hungry." Ye Wan wore a distressed expression. She felt she was turning into a bottomless pit, always hungry. Previously, when she was working, she'd keep snacks nearby, munching on a piece from time to time, otherwise, she'd feel ravenous.

"What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you." Gu Yunting pulled her towards the villa.

"I want to eat cake." Ye Wan genuinely craved cake, sweet cake with cream and strawberries.

"I'll make it for you," Gu Yunting said without hesitation.

"You'll make it? You can bake?" Ye Wan looked at him in surprise. She had just said it casually, and it seemed there wasn't any place selling it here.

"What flavor do you want? Strawberry?" Gu Yunting remembered she liked strawberry-flavored cake.

"Yes, you can really make it." Ye Wan thought it was already impressive that he could cook; now he could even bake?

"I'll have someone send over fresh strawberries. I'll make the cake base first. You wait a moment. If you're really hungry, you can eat something else to tide you over," Gu Yunting said, looking at her with concern.
