Chapter 1086 You Cannot Leave Me

"Yan Yan, I'm sorry, I couldn't find Jian Yi. But don't worry, as long as we don't give up, we'll definitely find Jian Yi." Jin Lan nervously held her hand.

He said this, but now that she was gone, the longer time passed, the slimmer the hope of finding her became.

It had already been a night. If things moved fast, the child could already be on the other side of the Earth. Where could they possibly find her?

Jiang Yan closed her eyes in pain after hearing this. She recalled Jian Yi's tender and adorable little face and her sincere concern for her. Her heart ached as if it were breaking.

...

At this moment, Jian Yi was locked in a room on a mountain. She wasn't the only child here; there were several others. Jian Yi, being precocious and smart, knew she was in the hands of human traffickers.

When the "bad aunt" came to pick her up, she told Jian Yi that her mother had a difficult pregnancy and that she needed to take Jian Yi to the hospital to see her mother. So, Jian Yi went with her.

Who knew she had been lied to.

Jian Yi was no longer afraid. She knew fear was useless. She calmed herself down, determined to find an opportunity to escape and return to her parents.

Her parents would surely be very sad when they realized she was missing. She didn't want them to be sad.

The room held children aged four to five, both boys and girls. Most of the children were asleep, likely drugged.

Jian Yi had seen similar plots on television.

However, there was a special person in the room – a boy who looked over ten years old. He was also asleep and had injuries. He wore white clothes and black pants. Jian Yi thought this boy might be able to help her escape.

When someone came to patrol, Jian Yi pretended to sleep. She even smeared dirt on her small face, making her look dirty and not pretty at all.

After the person left, Jian Yi opened her eyes. She carefully approached the boy and pushed him hard. The boy's eyes twitched but he didn't wake up. Jian Yi anxiously looked around and saw a shard of glass on the ground. She picked it up, glanced at the boy, and with a determined resolve, used the glass to cut his back.

Fu Chen woke up in pain. Upon waking, he saw a dirty little face. He was weak, hungry, and thirsty, his lips cracked. But his eyes were sharp as he glared at the dirty girl in front of him, "What are you doing?"

"Brother, we've been caught by human traffickers. Let's escape together," Jian Yi whispered.

Fu Chen then realized his predicament. Ever since he was betrayed by his own people, he had been unconscious, completely unaware of his surroundings.

After hearing the little girl's words, he looked around. Indeed, it was a dirty and dilapidated warehouse with several sleeping children.

"You..."

"I was also captured by them, brother. We have to escape, or we don't know where we'll be sold, or we might be killed," Jian Yi said nervously.

Fu Chen naturally understood. Just as he was about to speak, he heard footsteps outside. He quickly said, "Someone's coming!"

Jian Yi was fast. She quickly returned to her original spot and lay down in the same posture.

Sure enough, a few seconds later, the door was pushed open, and someone came to patrol. The person kicked a few children. Some woke up crying immediately, while others couldn't be woken up even with kicks.

The person kicked Jian Yi a few times. She remained motionless, pretending to be dead. Finally, the person dragged away the crying child.

Jian Yi was so scared her whole body stiffened. Were they taking away anyone who woke up to sell them?

This only strengthened her resolve to escape. After the person left, she ran back to Fu Chen and called him "brother."

"Stop chattering. Even if we're going to leave, we have to wait until night. How can we run in broad daylight? Go back to sleep." Fu Chen's head was pounding. His voice was hoarse, his throat felt like it was on fire, and he wished he could have some water.

But he knew he couldn't move. He had to endure for another day. For someone who had always lived a life of privilege, this was an incredibly difficult ordeal.

But he had no choice; he had to bear it. He had to escape and go home. He wanted to see who exactly wanted him dead.

Thus, the two, one big and one small, endured until nightfall. The day felt longer than a year, almost like an eternity.

At night, Fu Chen opened his eyes and got up to escape. Jian Yi quickly opened her eyes and ran to his side, grabbing his clothes!

"You can't leave me behind!" Jian Yi's bright eyes looked at him with determination.
