Chapter 8 What she needed least was pride

Ye Wan frowned. Going to school was a must. Only by finishing university could her life have hope. This was Ye Wan's deepest belief, so over the years, she could compromise on anything but this. This was her bottom line, and she would not compromise with anyone, not even a little!

Her life was already like mud, but she was unwilling. Even if it was mud, she wanted to bloom a flower within it!

"Young Master, what do I need to do for you to let me go out?" Ye Wan looked at the man in front of her very seriously, her eyes shining with stubbornness.

"Do I need to teach you that?" Gu Yunting looked at her with a cold expression.

Seeing this, Ye Wan knelt before him without hesitation and pleaded, "Young Master, please let me go out."

Gu Yunting's expression turned extremely ugly. He angrily raised his leg and violently kicked away the coffee table in front of him. Ye Wan flinched, kneeling directly on the ground, as humble as a begging dog!

From a very young age, Ye Wan knew that in the Gu residence, anyone could humiliate her, bully her, and torment her... because she was a sinner in the Gu residence. To survive, she needed self-respect the least!

However, her heart still felt like it was being torn apart by wild beasts, and tears began to well up in her eyes.

"Scram!" Gu Yunting spoke furiously.

Ye Wan quickly got up and ran out of the hall without looking back. She ran for a long distance before finally stopping under a tree, holding onto the trunk and panting heavily with her body bent over.

After her breathing evened out, Ye Wan straightened up and continued walking. The Gu residence was on the mountainside. To take the bus, one had to walk for half an hour to the foot of the mountain, where the bus stop was.

"Xiao Wan, why are you running so fast! It took me so long to catch up to you." Sun Ma got off the bus.

"Sun Ma, is something wrong?" Ye Wan was a little scared. Had Gu Yunting gone back on his word and wouldn't let her go to class?

"The Young Master asked me to bring you a piece of clothing. Hurry and put it on. Xiao Wan, actually, the Young Master is quite good to you." Sun Ma handed her a thin, white sun-protection jacket.

Ye Wan frowned. She didn't want to accept it. She didn't want any connection with Gu Yunting! Even though she lived in the Gu residence, she wanted to draw a clear line with him as soon as possible, preferably never seeing him again.

"Take it. There's no benefit in going against the Young Master," Sun Ma said and was about to help her put it on.

"I'll do it myself." Ye Wan put on the clothes herself. The long white sun-protection jacket on her body, covering her neck, made her look pure and flawless.

"I brought you a sandwich to eat on the way. You need to eat more, you're too thin." Sun Ma forced a sandwich into her hand and then turned to drive back.

Ye Wan turned and threw the sandwich Sun Ma gave her into the trash can by the roadside, continuing to walk forward. Unless absolutely necessary, she would never eat anything from the Gu family.

Gu Yunting, who had driven over, saw this scene clearly. He stepped on the accelerator and his car sped past Ye Wan.

Ye Wan was so scared that cold sweat broke out. Her long hair was blown by the wind from the speeding car, and she was knocked down to the roadside. Did he want to hit and kill her?

Her phone rang. She quickly took it out of her pocket, an old, second-hand phone. Just as she was about to answer, the screen went black.

After restarting and waiting for a long time, she dialed the number.

"Miss Ye, the fees for next month are due."
