Chapter 1 Grudge

"Mom! No! Don't!"

In the pouring rain, the fourteen-year-old boy in a suit roared like a madman, but he couldn't stop the woman on the sixth floor. She jumped with her baby daughter, only half a year old.

Little Ye Wan stared blankly at the scene before her. The rain had drenched her small, palm-sized face, her hair sticking to her fair skin. She saw the woman who used to smile at her so gently and the infant she often visited fall to the ground, blood flowing out from beneath them with the rain...

Screams, the sound of dialing emergency services, the hurried footsteps of the servants, accompanied by the increasing rain, created utter chaos.

Little Ye Wan saw her mother run out of the villa, her clothes disheveled. The boy's father, also disheveled, draped a piece of clothing over her mother's shoulders.

The boy's eyes were fixed on the couple, his gaze so terrifying that Ye Wan would never forget it in her life!

...

"Brother Yunting, please eat something." Nine-year-old Little Ye Wan, holding a bowl of noodles, approached the boy who hadn't eaten for three days.

During the year she and her mother had lived with the Gu family, Brother Yunting had been incredibly good to her. He bought her delicious food, fun toys, pretty clothes, and beautiful dolls... But ever since Auntie and the baby had met with an accident, he had stopped paying attention to her.

She felt so, so sad.

Her mother was gone, and Brother Yunting ignored her.

With a "bang," the bowl was swept to the floor. The boy stood up as if he had gone mad, grabbed the little girl who only reached his chest, and lowered his head to bite her shoulder fiercely. His teeth sank into her skin. Ye Wan cried out in pain, but the boy remained unmoved, like a wolf about to tear a piece of flesh from her!

He would never forget that when this little girl was led into the house by her mother, he had seen an angel. She was like a light that illuminated his dark world.

But now, his heart was filled only with hatred! Hatred for why her mother had appeared, and hatred for her for having such a dirty and shameless mother!

Little Ye Wan didn't understand why. She didn't know what she had done wrong. She only knew that when he let go of her, his lips were stained with blood, like a terrifying vampire.

"I want you to pay the price for what your mother did!" the boy's voice was like a curse from hell.

To the death.

...

Ah!

With a startled cry, Ye Wan woke up from a nightmare. Her eyes were red, and the wound on her shoulder seemed to ache faintly. The nightmare had twisted her heart into a knot, making it even difficult to breathe.

"Xiao Ye, you look tired. How about we call it a day?"

Ye Wan was taking promotional photos for a small clothing brand. She had just finished shooting the women's wear part, and now it was the male model's turn. In this short break, she had dozed off and dreamed of that year again.

"No, I'm not tired. I can continue after touching up my makeup," Ye Wan patted her face and quickly got up to go to the restroom. After washing her face and applying light makeup, she came out.

Next was the joint shoot of the male and female models. Having been a part-time model for a long time, Ye Wan's movements and expressions were perfect. The photographer frantically pressed the shutter, afraid he might miss a shot.

It was rare to find such a beautiful female model as Ye Wan. The photographer believed that with her looks, she could easily rank among the top in the entertainment industry, but no matter how he persuaded her, she remained unmoved.

After the shoot, Ye Wan changed into her own clothes, put on her bag, and was about to leave. The male model called out to her, "Ye Wan, want to grab a late-night snack together?"

"No, I have something to do tonight." Ye Wan collected the payment from the photographer and left the studio quickly.

Today was a special day. Ye Wan knew he would return, which was why she had rushed to finish all the clothes for today's shoot, because... she wouldn't be able to shoot tomorrow.

Gu Yunting's brutality was something that normal people, unless they had experienced it, could not imagine!

Just thinking about it sent shivers down Ye Wan's spine, and even the scar on her shoulder from his bite ached faintly.
