Chapter 233 The Heart to Escape Became More Urgent

Gu Yunting was ultimately a step too late. The tip of the blade had already pierced Ye Wan's throat, and blood sprayed out as it was withdrawn!

Ling Feifei, who rushed over upon hearing the commotion, screamed in terror and fled.

Nanny Sun, seeing this scene, was so frightened she almost fainted, collapsing to the ground and crying, "Young Master, save her, save her!"

Gu Yunting was also in a panic. He immediately used his hand to cover Ye Wan's neck, but the bleeding wouldn't stop. He roared, "Someone!"

A bodyguard rushed over with a medical kit to staunch Ye Wan's bleeding. "Young Master, the artery wasn't hit. She needs to go to the hospital immediately."

...

Jin Lan was not present, but the doctor he had arranged was treating Ye Wan. Jin Lan also rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival, he immediately consulted with the attending physician about Ye Wan's condition. With a clear understanding, he took the medical records to the ward.

Ye Wan was still in a deep sleep. Gu Yunting stood silently by the bedside, staring at the girl. He had been watching her ever since the surgery.

Jin Lan entered, intending to speak to Gu Yunting, but seeing his demeanor, he changed his words. "You don't need to worry too much. Ye Wan's injury isn't severe. I heard you disarmed her just in time?"

Gu Yunting remained silent, his gaze fixed on Ye Wan. Jin Lan sighed helplessly. "I say, don't blame yourself too much. Isn't she alright now?"

At these words, Gu Yunting suddenly moved. He turned his head to look at Jin Lan and sneered, "Who told you I'm blaming myself!"

Jin Lan: "..."

No... wasn't he?

"If she wants to die, she should be allowed to die!" Gu Yunting's eyes were terrifyingly cold.

Jin Lan was somewhat dumbfounded. He could tell Gu Yunting meant it.

"No..."

"Give her another knife when she wakes up! I want to see if she'll kill me or herself!" Gu Yunting said coldly and strode out of the ward.

"Sigh!" Jin Lan wanted to call him back, but the door had already been slammed shut.

Jin Lan was bewildered. What had happened now? He turned to look at the sleeping girl on the bed. Her face was frighteningly pale, her neck wrapped in bandages stained with a few drops of blood. He was puzzled; he knew Ye Wan, she was a girl who cherished her life. What had Gu Yunting done to push her to the brink of suicide?

By the time Ye Wan woke up, it was already afternoon. She felt a sharp pain in her throat and couldn't speak. She turned and saw Jin Lan dozing beside her.

She reached out and tugged his sleeve. Jin Lan woke up and looked at her. "Ye Wan, you're awake. Does your wound hurt? That's normal. You have five stitches, and thankfully, it's not deep. If it were any deeper, you'd be mute for life."

Ye Wan blinked her eyes, trying to make a sound, but she couldn't.

Jin Lan explained, "It's probably just the pain. It'll be fine in a couple of days, and you'll be able to speak again. Don't worry."

Hearing this, Ye Wan's eyelashes drooped. She turned to look out the window, her hands unconsciously clenching into fists. Her heart was filled with despair.

"Don't overthink it, just rest well. If you feel pain these next couple of days, you'll have to eat liquid food. You'll stay in the hospital for two days," Jin Lan decided that Ye Wan should be hospitalized. It seemed Gu Yunting was still furious, and he was afraid something might happen to her if she returned home.

How could anyone endure such torment?

This time, Ye Wan obediently stayed in the hospital for two days. Apart from Jin Lan's daily visits, no one else came. Nanny Sun hadn't shown up either, making her suspect that something might have happened to Nanny Sun.
