"Wei Wei, how could you do such a thing? That's a life!" Mother Lin didn't know where Ye Wan got a brother, but judging by the context, her adopted daughter had indeed done something wrong.
"Didn't you say he didn't die? If he's not dead, what are you making such a fuss about? And you beat him up like this? Is that appropriate?" Father Lin looked at Ye Wan displeased, his gaze filled with blame.
Ye Wan looked at these people who completely disregarded her brother's life, rage burning in her chest, her whole body trembling. In their eyes, her brother's life was no more than an ant's. Even if he had died, they probably wouldn't have cared and would have continued to shield Lin Fei Wei!

Father Lin also wanted to de-escalate the situation and avoid trouble. If outsiders were to find out that his biological daughter and adopted daughter were at loggerheads to the point of potential imprisonment, the Lin family's reputation would be ruined.

The hospital room door was pushed open, and Gu Yun Ting walked in. He glanced at the girl standing there with a grim expression and said, "Mom, I'll take Ye Wan. I'll handle this matter, so you don't need to worry."
As he spoke, he grabbed Ye Wan's wrist and started to lead her out. Ye Wan tried to resist, but Gu Yun Ting pulled her out of the room, covering her mouth with his hand to prevent her from making any sound. Ye Wan, enraged, bit him, and only then did Gu Yun Ting let go.
Outside, Gu Yun Ting forcibly dragged her out of the hospital and stuffed her into his car. The car sped away from the hospital.

Gu Yun Ting looked at her, wanting to take her hand with concern, but Ye Wan flung it away. She closed her eyes, turned her back to him, and remained silent.
