Chapter 313 Whose Call Is It?

Gu Yunting embraced her, and Ye Wan felt him say, "My wound hurts."

Ye Wan was speechless.

She dared not move again, afraid of bumping his wound.

The two embraced and slept again. That night, Gu Yunting did not have a fever, and Ye Wan breathed a sigh of relief. The next day, after breakfast, she watched him take his medicine.

Lin Zehan called Ye Wan early in the morning, offering to take her to buy a dress for the birthday party. Ye Wan declined, saying she had something to wear.

When they were about to leave, Gu Yunting had Ye Wan get into his car and asked, "The driver will take you to the Lin family this afternoon. Have you really thought this through?"

"Yes, I'm going to the Lin family," Ye Wan nodded without hesitation.

Gu Yunting didn't say much more. Ye Wan received a message from Jin Lan, asking her to remind Gu Yunting to go to the hospital for an IV drip.

Ye Wan looked at Gu Yunting and said, "Let's go to the hospital first. After the IV drip, you can go to the company, and I'll go to school."

Gu Yunting was silent.

Ye Wan smoothly took Gu Yunting to the hospital. Jin Lan was surprised they came so early and immediately arranged for him to have an IV drip. Jin Lan personally changed his wound dressing.

"Ye Wan, come here and help me," Jin Lan called out to Ye Wan, who was nearby.

Ye Wan obediently walked over. Jin Lan asked her to open the medicine. Ye Wan complied. Jin Lan then uncovered Gu Yunting's wound, and a fresh gash met Ye Wan's eyes. Her pupils trembled slightly, and her hand involuntarily shook.

Jin Lan first removed yesterday's dressing from Gu Yunting and disinfected the wound. Then, he took the medicine from Ye Wan and applied it to his wound again before covering it with gauze.

"I... I'm going to read," Ye Wan said, putting down the things in her hand and walking to a sofa on the side to sit down. She took a book out of her bag and began to read.

Her eyes were on the book, but what flashed before her was the wound on Gu Yunting's chest, which looked shocking and made her feel deeply uneasy.

Jin Lan winked at Gu Yunting. He had intentionally let Ye Wan see the wound she had inflicted, so that she would feel more guilty and treat Gu Yunting better.

After everything was done, he took his things and left. Outside, he called his sister and asked about Chu Yu's condition.

"He's much better now. His girlfriend has been guarding the ward the whole time, so I let them see each other. What do you think about this?" Mother Chu glanced at the two people in the ward and asked her brother for his stance.

"What do I think? What can I think?" Jin Lan was not feeling well, especially since Jiang Yan was carrying his child yet was devoted to his nephew. He found it utterly awkward.

This matter gave him a severe headache and made him feel extremely troubled.

"The marriage is between you and the Jiang family. If you want to give it to Chu Yu, I'll talk to the Jiang family." Mother Chu looked at Jiang Yan's devoted affection for her son and felt a pang of sympathy.

"Don't mention the arranged marriage. Just pretend it never happened. Sister, I have things to attend to here. If anything happens with Chu Yu, call me." Jin Lan made an excuse and hung up the phone.

He felt too distressed, so he directly called Jiang Yan's phone. Jiang Yan was startled to see Jin Lan's number. Chu Yu, seeing her flustered expression, asked, "Whose call is it?"

"No one, just someone selling insurance. I'm going to the restroom," Jiang Yan said, hanging up the phone and getting up to go to the restroom.

Chu Yu knew Jiang Yan wasn't telling the truth. He glanced at the number and saw it was his uncle's. Could it be that Jiang Yan wasn't being forced? A surge of anger at being deceived made him almost unable to resist confronting her, but he couldn't do that yet.

Jiang Yan stayed with Chu Yu for the rest of the morning. At noon, she said she had some family matters and left. Outside, she hesitated for a moment before calling Jin Lan. Jin Lan answered immediately.
