To have some quiet and for easier conversation, the three of them asked for a private room. Ye Wan was not a picky eater, and Jun Li Chen was also easygoing. In the end, Jiang Yan ordered the dishes. They opted for a four-compartment hot pot base, with clear broth, spicy mala, tomato, and curry, so everyone could choose their preferred flavor.
Ye Wan usually spoke very little, so most of the time Jiang Yan would ask questions and talk, with Jun Li Chen answering. He occasionally asked them a few things.
Seeing that Ye Wan was eating little, Jiang Yan put some meat from the pot onto her plate and said, "Eat more, don't just eat grass!"
"She's injured and can't eat spicy food, nor is it advisable for her to eat beef or lamb, which are considered 'warming' foods," Jun Li Chen quickly interjected.
"Oh, look at my memory, forgetting something so important. Then you should eat from the clear broth pot," Jiang Yan said, feeling very annoyed.
The meal was quite pleasant. Through their conversation, they learned that Jun Li Chen had been studying abroad for the past three years and had now returned after completing his studies. He was currently looking for a job and was interning at a company.
Hearing this, Ye Wan felt a sense of relief. But who was the person who had left her the note back then? She had been so nervous then, fearing that Gu Yun Ting might do something to Jun Li Chen.
As they were leaving, Jun Li Chen took out two small boxes and pushed them towards Ye Wan and Jiang Yan respectively, "These are small gifts I brought back from abroad."
"Oh, gifts? That's really not necessary," Jiang Yan said verbally, but her hand had already reached for the box and opened it.
It turned out to be a necklace from a very well-known brand, though not excessively expensive. If bought abroad, it could be purchased for a few hundred.
"Ye Wan, quickly see what yours is?" Jiang Yan asked curiously.
"I can't accept this. Thank you for your kindness." Ye Wan did not want to accept his gift. She truly did not want to owe anyone anything more.
She already bore enough of a burden from Gu Yun Ting for a lifetime. Now, any small debt made her feel suffocated.
"They're just some inexpensive trinkets, please accept them. They're cheap abroad. I bought over twenty of them to give to friends," Jun Li Chen said casually. Fearing they wouldn't believe him, he opened his bag and indeed, there were many more identical small boxes inside.
Ye Wan still didn't want it. Seeing this, Jiang Yan said, "Ye Wan, just accept it. Otherwise, it'll be so heavy for Senior Jun to carry around every day!"
In the end, Ye Wan could only accept the gift for now. When it was time to pay, Ye Wan insisted on paying the bill, which made her feel less burdened.
Jun Li Chen didn't argue with her, and Jiang Yan knew her personality, so they let her. At most, they would make it up to her later.
The three of them spent less than four hundred on the meal, and Ye Wan paid willingly.
When they left the restaurant, Jiang Yan hailed a taxi, and Ye Wan went with her. Jun Li Chen told them to go ahead and that he would take a taxi later.
Through the rearview mirror, Jiang Yan continued to admire Jun Li Chen's striking good looks and said, "Senior Jun is really very good!"
Ye Wan didn't have strong feelings about it, only gratitude for his help on a few occasions. Though they were minor matters, they were precious to her.
"Seriously, you don't like him at all? I think you two are a very good match," Jiang Yan said, turning her gaze to Ye Wan beside her. "And I think he's very considerate. I forgot you had an arm injury and couldn't eat spicy food, but he remembered it very clearly."
"No feelings... Wait, how did he know I had an arm injury?" Ye Wan's mind suddenly flashed. When she had mentioned her injury to Jiang Yan, he hadn't arrived yet, had he?
