Chapter 124 Why are you unwilling to donate again?

Jiang Yan and Ye Wan left. Ning Xin couldn't leave; she had to try and persuade Jiang Lingyu. However, no matter what she said, Jiang Lingyu wouldn't listen and still wanted to get back with the scumbag. Ning Xin got a headache from her stubbornness and chose to remain silent when she saw she was so misguided. She knew that nothing she said would get through to Jiang Lingyu right now.

After school, Ye Wan took the bus to the hospital to visit her younger brother. Thanks to Lin Zehan, she had saved up a little money. She specifically went to the mall to buy him two new outfits, a new Lego set, and some food and daily necessities.

She entered Ye Cheng's hospital room with her arms full of shopping bags. Ye Cheng was overjoyed to see her, jumping up and down excitedly. Ye Wan took out the new clothes and asked her brother to try them on to see if they fit.

"Sister, don't waste money buying me new clothes. I wear patient gowns every day and don't get to wear them," Ye Cheng said, worried about his sister spending too much.

"But you should still have your own new clothes. After your surgery, you can go to kindergarten like other children and make lots of friends," Ye Wan insisted on having her brother try them on.

"Did you buy any new clothes for yourself?" Ye Cheng asked, blinking his big, beautiful eyes.

"Yes, I did. Look, isn't this dress I'm wearing beautiful?" Ye Wan twirled in front of her brother. She had specifically worn a dress today to show him.

"It's beautiful. Sister looks beautiful in anything," in little Ye Cheng's eyes, his sister was a fairy.

Both siblings were very happy. Ye Wan helped her brother put on the new clothes and found they were a bit large. But it didn't matter; children grow quickly, so slightly bigger clothes were fine.

She took out her phone and opened the food delivery app, asking her brother what he wanted to eat. Ye Cheng ordered two dishes. Ye Wan put down her phone with a helpless sigh, "These are both things I love to eat."

"I love what you love to eat. Let's just order this," Ye Cheng pouted and acted spoiled with his sister.

Ye Wan had no choice but to indulge him. The siblings ate together. She couldn't stay at the hospital for too long. Although she wasn't sure if Gu Yunting knew about her brother's existence, she dared not take the risk. After a few words of instruction to her brother, she prepared to leave.

Ye Cheng smiled and waved goodbye as his sister left. After Ye Wan's figure disappeared from sight, the smile on little Ye Cheng's face fell, and tears began to stream down his face.

He wished his sister could stay with him every day. But he knew how busy and tired she was because of his illness, so he couldn't be a troublesome child.

...

As Ye Wan walked out, she ran into Dr. Zhang. "Ye Wan, you're here at the perfect time. I wanted to tell you something," Dr. Zhang said.

"Dr. Zhang, have they found a matching bone marrow?" Ye Wan walked over, looking at him nervously.

"I have something urgent to attend to right now. Perhaps we can talk on the way. There was indeed a suitable bone marrow match, but it seems the donor has changed their mind and is unwilling to donate."

"Why are they unwilling to donate now?" Ye Wan had just breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that there was finally a bone marrow match for her brother, but her heart clenched at the latter part of the news.

"Let's go. We can talk as we walk," Dr. Zhang glanced at his watch, appearing to be in a real hurry.

Ye Wan's mind was consumed by the bone marrow issue. She followed him to the hospital parking lot and got into Dr. Zhang's car. Dr. Zhang drove away from the hospital.

On the road, Dr. Zhang made two phone calls, leaving Ye Wan to wait anxiously. As long as she knew who the donor was, she would find a way to make them agree to donate bone marrow to her brother.

She didn't notice the car driving out of the city. Dr. Zhang finally hung up the phone. He suddenly turned to the girl beside him with a smile and asked...
